  1. I do hope Minelab put something out and hopefully it will meet your expectations. Im going to reenable the 98-99 again.. here comes the nightmare and flashbacks of digging deep iron with 98-99 ID 😆. Thank you for the feedback
  2. Oh snap.. up average to 98.. I notched out 98-99 tonally since last 2 weeks. I didn't find anything good of ID at 98-99 for the last 6 months..
  3. Can you explain how its different than GB2 and Gold monster.. I know nothing about prospecting stuff but would like to know how much the technology has improved over time
  4. I'm running 1 region all tones.. until last 2 week I'm still in the state of figuring out what the machine tells me, add it up with 98-99 ID signal and ground/iron falsing.. Now the machine 'speaks' to me and I'm much happier so much so it put a smile on my face . I guess my problem with Manticore tonal language is the default setting is 'too tight' (default pitch starting at 30 and end with 50). 20 point pitch differences between the lowest ID to the highest ID are not expressive enough so I modified the 1 region all tones as in the picture I discriminate 0-2 and 98-99 tonally to make it sound like like iron, start pitch at 20 and run all metal.. I get all the info I need tonally and much clearer picture of what its tell me. I also start running AT General (from AT LC) in iron and can identify some of the false tones much better. Maybe much later I will decrease the start pitch to get more 'contrast' of the manticore tonal language BTW this is yesterday find (mid 1700 to 1800 ring)😊 and its missing the main stone 😒
  5. I rolled back too. the RED number is gone on mine. Btw thank you @abenson for showing the differences between old and new software in a video.
  6. Same here too.. But I also saw what the Manticore can do for me and the potential what it can be.. that's why I still push on to learn the machine... its part of the 'fun' for me
  7. This is true man... manticore has 2 languages to master, 1 is tonal language and the other is the 2d graph as you said. A youtuber (forgot who he is and I think its make sense in a way) said that the 2D graph is a the written language of the aliens that the scientist trying to decipher in a movie called Arrival lol... Manticore also has 2 non ferrous line to look into.. Its not just the middle line is non ferrous.. non ferrous target will be 'floating' at the bottom ferrous line also which I think its only happen in highly mineralize soil... would be great If the forum has a dedicated post for Manticore 2D graph, and we post our finding/conclusions in relations of tonal and 2D picture on how it paint the target in the ground. Should be shorten our 2D paint language learning curve..
  8. Thank you for the video and information's... In my mind I already accept that early manticore owner are field tester for Minelab.. Its obvious the D2 and equinox (lesser degree from D2 to my ears) perform much better in that conditions.. Minelab claim as the Manticore "Is the best coin and treasure detector on the market" and place the manticore as the Flagship of Minelab.. I am really hoping Minelab will give another software update/workaround and makes the Manticore the 'beast' in performance ... btw: it will be helpful if Manticore has mineralization meter feature too.. for the price of usd1500 it should have one..
  9. I got the same problems as you describe when I use AT HC, now in iron patches I use AT LC. The stabilizer didn't help much in iron situations too because I need to stop and sweeps the target multiple times to properly trigger the stabilizer..
  10. yea man.. just dig it up. My dilemma with the 'sharper more zing' tones are .. what if (lets say) the gold ring is beneath/under debries of iron? what if the gold ring is next (same or in different depth) to another non ferrous that emulates the oblong sounding..
  11. Sorry to hear that man... May I know what is the problem for you with the manticore? if you willing to share of course.. If you already made up your mind.. just sell the manticore ASAP man.. cut the lost ... use a machine that you happy with.. at the end of the day its all about happiness and enjoying oneself
  12. You are right man.. my thinking is, there should be good targets that ID 98-99 too. Maybe I should just ignore or notch it out as you said and move on..
  13. yea man.. the pull tab range varies a lot too.. its like itchy butt crack.. shouldn't scratch it.. but.. yes I did.. the stabilizer didn't help with deep faint target.. it turns the whisper tones to mixed irony tones even stabilizer at 2.. If I chase deep target I will set the manticore wide open.. for now its the recovery of 4, sensitivity 24 (with sensitivity boost function on the softkey shortcut). upper 6-7 with lower 3, no stabilizer no discriminations . The problem with changing modes is the need to reground balance (especially when chasing deep target) and its quite a hassle to find clean spot 😄 . For carpet of iron patch. I think I'm better off using AT Low Conductor than stabilizer
  14. Its been 6 months as weekend detectorist.. Dug every signal of ID 98-99.. positive tones all directions with minor hint of iron.. usually the target was deep big iron around 12 to 15 inches. Not a single good target dug.. I wonder if anyone has dug a good deep target with the ID of 98-99. Btw I'm using the AT High conductor, AT Low conductor identified it as iron.. but I'm not so sure that AT low conductor max depth is identical as AT High conductor for inland relic site.. I'm ready (sort of) pass up targets that read 98-99
  15. cant wait for the m8.. have enough manticore gold to buy the coil.. hopefully it will under usd250 🙄
  16. of course man.. rang up 31 to 33.. its not even deep.. double beep.. usually I ignore the double beep with IDs of pull tab range.. but the zing sound much more clearer, sharper.. i don't know if its just my imaginations.. anyway for me.. if I got lots of lots of pull-tab and getting tired of pulltab I will just discriminate it by eyes (by looking at the ID) or sound. I didn't use the machine discriminations pattern.. its messed up with the overall tones ..
  17. Single freq? I still in the learning curve of multi freq stuff 😁 same here too.. now i can run the manticore smooth like butter on the beach and very satisfied with it.. but on relic side its another story.. still learning tho...
  18. I do believe when using the sensitivity of 26 to 29, the 'purity' of the signal is gone.. not gone.. how to say... the nuances is distorted? and add it up with ground signal/iron signal amplifications? I guess to use the very high sensitivity on the manticore, one should master/familiar with the sound/nuances with just enough sensitivity...
  19. The only thing I use from the new update is sensitivity boost. Usually I ran mine in 25 to 27 sensitivity due to deep targets/ Here in my locations our definition of deep target is the target were deeper than pinpointer length. Sensitivity below 20 (if i remember correctly) the target disappear completely. With sensitivity boost, its become much easier to interrogate signals, especially the whisper one. I wish minelab can include the setting of recovery speed in the 'sensitivity boost' functions. I mean when I press the sensitivity boost its jump up to +5 sensitivity and also a recovery speed of my choosing for target interrogations.
  20. How deep?, my deepest so far and its just an aluminum piping thingy 😁
  21. around 10-12ish inches I guess .. but for sure its deeper than pinpointer length. BTW the coins read around 50 on air test
  22. the 2 coins I dug were -12 to -15.. or 12 to 15 with red line.. the tones were just iron grunt.. I used all tones all metal with rich profiles (because for me I can differentiate the good target to a unwanted target at different depth to some degree) ... I do believe there is data set/ pattern that we can use from the manticore negative number (-1 to -99) but I think for now I concentrate on how the red line works. I still in the state of 'prolonged suffering' though, but sometimes I get the 'admirations state' and all the suffering is worth it... lol
  23. Happen to me a lot too.. maybe its like @GB_Amateur explained.. the '60's was the co component and the red line maybe for the fe component indicator with no numerical display (including nearby iron or possibly ground imbalance) .. that's maybe why there is no iron signal after target retrieved.. I don't know lol I'm guessing
