Deus 2 could barely hit those targets in Goldfield in moderate mineralization. Maybe you can get an idea about how it does in 10 of 10 iron mineralization………
I tried to pick a site close by that had enough mineralization to challenge Deus 2. I must have succeeded since it couldn’t handle it very well.
Just to back-up the "mineralization" issue with the D2. Myself, Jeff, and Steve H were all working heavy mineralized sites about a month ago. Steve and I were Pm-ing, and Jeff chimed in, trying different solutions to get the D2 to perform at three different locations.
Conclusions: All three of us were disappointed in how the D2 handled Black Sand/Mineralized soil.
BE PREPARED, for several different issues to happen if you are running hot ground.
The only reason I did not write this up was the fact my D2 was discharging while turned off. I cannot be 100% sure my D2 was functioning correctly. I will get get on the Black Sand again and will see if I can make progress. I was running the 9" coil too.-

I wonder if this will work as well, or better, than the Gold Monster 1000 in our location? If any one has knowledge of the comparison, of knows of, or hears of, a review of the Manticore Gold Field mode vs the Gold Monster 1000 I would really appreciate hearing from you.
I think it is going to be a LONG TIME before that question is answered!
Lots of the gold guys think an Equinox 800 is formidable in the gold area. A better question might be Equinox 800 VS Gold Monster 1000?-

I think minelab has learned. The Manticore has TWICE the battery capacity. [that 50% more power to the coil thing] I think the question is how much weight do you want to carry? Personally, I do not have enough gas in the tank to hunt a beach for 7 hours.

The cuff the looks WAY sturdier to me?
4 hours ago, Nuke em said:All carbon fibre stem. Looks good but expensive to replace if that breaks. I think using that in the sea doing beach hunting will put an awful lot of stress on the stem. I noticed that on the Nox even with the aftermarket stems.
I have beach hunted for 25 years in the worst conditions that the Pacific Ocean can dish out. I have NEVER broken a lower carbon fiber stem or coil attachment yoke.
4 hours ago, Nuke em said:The Nox suffered from EMI issues when i used it on the beaches i go to and even on many digs too.
Yes, the Equinox suffered from EMI. Minelab has put a lot of effort into the EMI on the Manticore. Time will tell but I doubt it will be worse. With having a maximum sensitivity setting of 35 I am sure EMI will be found at some setting.
Just bringing this up as talking points! I will not go out and buy one. A friend of mine has already stepped up to the plate. He will probably get his before many in the United States.[he always does] I should be able to do a salt beach comparison [watch for it]-

Any thoughts?
1. Knock-off not caught yet?
2. Refurbished, but should have been stated as such?
3. One should tread careful here.-

Went out with no problems the first several days on some forested areas with no issues, just learning the machine having a good time. Got home (in the country) and I have massive chatter
1. Take the coil cover off and make sure there is no dirt build up, clean well.
2. You are doing a noise cancel channel selection?
3. Try choosing different hunt modes. [ Try the Beach Dive program] to see if problem persists.
4. Get further away from the powerlines.-

I beach hunt only.
Primary: Equinox 800 11 and 15" coils.
Back-up/special condition use: Deus 2 9" coil.-

like we can change the volume in disc but can we change volume in other tones? eg. say 3 tones, lower vol in disc, but can we do that in the other 2? i know that we can change the tone in other "bins" ( doah, I can't think of the proper term for the bins) but I love to be able to change the volume in each one. If not can one of you that are in touch with XP ask to see if that could be done in an update? thanks
Not to my knowledge. You can change the volume of the iron bin but out of the iron bin you are regulated to the volume control setting of your other tones.
You can change the Hz of each tone bin. This can act as a damper on volume. [low tone vs high tone]-

Has anyone got a clue on when it will be available for purchase here in the sates??
I have the headphones and detector rod I would sell, then you would have to buy a coil. PM me if you're interested. Unit bought in April and will forward the receipt for warranty purposes. Dave

That convention doesn't quite hold for this video...from the screenshot, the large Wedge is clearly below the line.
Why do I get a feeling that North America is not being courted as buyers? Can we get this machine in the U.S. somewhere?

That may be the best Freudian Slip I've ever seen on this website! (Not picking on you, midalake as many of us -- including myself -- have done similar.) It's just so appropriate in this case I had to highlight it.
Ya, I was grasping for a word. Variables didn't work...Well it least one of the definitions is bother. So, it is a bother to learn a detector fully. ?

It just seems to me that some can fully evaluate a machine in far, far less time than others. I got to admit I often learn something new every time I go out. So having comparisons with a few machines ( some borrowed ) on a handful of targets (some staged ) and then making a decision is beyond my pay grade.
Think I know where you are going with thoughts?
For me when I grab a new machine, I consider the platform and then the tones and nuisances, so it is a two-prong approach.
I would say it is rather easy for me now to evaluate a new machine at the beach and get pretty close as to its full performance by looking at buried targets and comparing to another machine on wild targets.
Example: When I posted my 5-day review of the D2, back in March, looking back and now owning the machine I can confidently say that everything I posted was spot on and I would not retract anything for the conditions we tested.
But imagine my surprise when I was on the same beach in July and could not even run in the same mode!!!Going back to what I said in the beginning about a two-prong approach. The second stage of learning the tonal nuisances, working with close conductors, and learning the machine with different soil/sand conditions takes much longer than 25 hours in 5 days. To understand the second phase, you're looking at 100-300 hours depending on the person.

I wondered if anyone else experienced the same situation and I do hope that the North American Minelab people are responsive. Any comments would be appreciated and I’m happy to join this group! I really enjoyed using the detector while it lasted and had a really good experience when I was land detecting With this machine at my grandson!
Minelab is responsive. If you are in warranty, there is little to be concerned about. They will replace it!

All this talk about power is really just that : talk , until it's out and we get to use it. But a full charge takes 7 hours in this day and age ?
I don't know but seems like my Equinox if run down takes about this amount of time? That is on a 2.1 amp charger. ???
I would want the battery power necessary to do a hunt. I don't see charge time a game breaker!-

One thing I've noticed with the Equinox is an air gap between the coil and the soil dramatically cuts depth, it prefers to be really close to the soil,
Am sure I will be corrected and scolded soon?
But I have NEVER had a machine that did not go deeper by scrubbing the coil. I am a coil scrubber believer from WAY back............-

Tom Dankowski had positive comments on the added power, and potential applications as well as the 99 point iron range. Definitely going to be an unusual and interesting machine ?
They are giving the Manti 4 beach modes......right up my alley!

Not sure how disappointed you should be?
You had a great plan. Looks like lots of targets. Maybe just not the right ones. It happens, but you put yourself in the best position to come out ahead!
