  4. I have an excellent and hardly used Garrett ATX Deep Seeker Pulse Induction gold/jewelry/relic detector package with both coils. Just had the cam lock replaced and unit tested. All works like new 100%. $1799 and it's yours. Just ask Steve how well he did with this same model on the beaches in Hawaii. Or ask Lunk , see the gold he found with it. See attached photo of their Success (last 2 pics) and the detector, it's package and excellent condition.
  5. Greetings! After many months of design and testing, I am happy to announce that my carbon-fiber shaft project for the Equinox is complete! After working through my "wait list" over the past couple of weeks, I am now ready to begin offering these shafts for sale, to any who may be interested. I have a limited quantity of shafts in stock at this time, with another batch of parts currently in production which -- when they arrive -- will allow me to re-supply my inventory. This complete, high-quality, lightweight shaft system consists of:1). A 35 1/2" long carbon-fiber upper shaft, with four cuff adjustment holes, and one hole for the control-box handle (located in the same positions as on the Minelab upper shaft section). This upper shaft replaces -- as a one-piece section -- both the middle and upper sections of the stock Minelab shaft;2). A 26" long carbon-fiber lower rod, including spring-button clip (the same lower rods I've been selling for several months). The following pricing applies to several basic shaft options...1. Upper shaft section ONLY (no lower rod), regular end cap … $79 plus shipping2. Upper shaft section ONLY (no lower rod), threaded butt-end and threaded end cap (to allow compatibility with the threaded counterweight system) ... $89 plus shipping3. COMPLETE shaft system (upper shaft section PLUS 26" lower rod), regular end cap ... $129 plus shipping4. COMPLETE shaft system (upper shaft section PLUS 26" lower rod), threaded butt-end and threaded end cap (to allow compatibiility with the threaded counterweight system) ... $139 plus shipping. All of the above shafts can be customized in various ways, per customer preference (rod length, hole locations, etc.) Optional spring button holes (to facilitate use of the lower rod spring button) can also be included in any of the upper shaft options above, for an additional $10 (the button holes are not REQUIRED, on my shaft, due to the strong/secure clamping cam lock system that is used with these shafts, but are available as an optional inclusion). As alluded to above, an optional counterweighting system is also available for these shafts, to alleviate the "nose-heaviness" many Equinox users have noticed. The counterweight -- short-lengths of carbon-fiber tube, filled with small bags of lead pellets, and which screw into a threaded insert in the butt-end of the shaft -- can either be packaged with a shaft system, or purchased separately later, as an add-on accessory. The tubes are custom-built to each user's desired weight/length, and additionally, the weight of the tube can be adjusted at any time, via access to the internal weighting through a threaded end cap.Empty counterweight tubes (with the customer supplying the weighting) ... $25 plus shippingWeighted counterweight tubes (built to customer specification) ... $35 plus shippingFinally, I have created several documents to provide more detailed information regarding the shaft system itself, including counterweighting and how to choose the right weight for your situation, the "button holes vs. no button holes" decision, etc. I can provide these documents to anyone who requests them, and I am of course more than happy to answer any questions you may have -- either here, or via my email address, at steve@stevesdetectorrods.com.After an extended period of working to design a superior shaft system, and extensive field testing, I believe that my goal for this complete shaft system has been achieved -- with these shafts providing a high-quality, wobble-free, ergonomically balanced, aesthetically enhanced upgrade to your Minelab Equinox! Thanks!Steve www.stevesdetectorrods.com www.facebook.com/stevesdetectorrods
  6. We got in a Keene ST1 Shaker Table as a sort of experiment, not having normally stocked this type of item before. Well, it's still here and it needs to find a home. So we are eating all the shipping to Alaska and selling this for Keene's recommend price of $3395 (no tax in Anchorage). And to make it a real deal we are also throwing in the $275 ST1B Base for free! From the Keene website: "This is a compact shaker table that will concentrate gold and other values down to 500 mesh and will process up to 800 pounds of placer or hard rock material per hour! Absolutely ideal for use with rock crushers and active placer operations. You can process material up to 1/4 of an inch with this table and it is equipped with built in nugget traps. All eccentrics have ball bearings for long life and precision action. The ST1 comes equipped with a magnetic separator that helps liberate the gold and provides for superior recovery. The ST1 Table has 4 discharge ports, an essential system for the professional: Port #1: Pure Gold Port #2: Roughing Port Port #3: Midlings Port #4: Tailings This table must be bolted down (see optional ST1B base) and requires a 110 Volt power source. Dimensions are 43" x 17"" We also have a clearance sale going on all in stock gold dredges that have an air compressor on them. Lots of other deals so stop by or give us a call! 8. Hello All, I can get some pictures up, but I have two really good, used Minelab Pulse Induction metal detectors. I have a Minelab GP 3000 and a Minelab GPX 4000. I'm asking $1000.00 firm for the GP 3000 and $1500.00 for the GPX 4000. This price does not include shipping, so we would have to figure out shipping. Both units have stock accessories and some extras. I will post more details later, but I know both of these units will sell quickly. If you're interested, contact me at - Rob's Detector Sales 623.362.1459 rob@robsdetectors.com Thanks!
  9. An update on the journey and a look at the finished product! Wow, it was about this time last year that I first got to thinking about designing a shaft upgrade for my Equinox! It was initially because I was detecting in and out of the water frequently, alternating between the two environments. Each time that I'd get in-or-out I would disassemble and remove the middle rod from my stock shaft (to make it short enough for water use) then hide it on the beach... jump in the water, and then re-assemble it when I wanted to detect normally again. Hence, our first priority was improving usability for both land and sea detecting. We started out by making about 70 of the V1 design before we then got busy further investigating materials, parts and sampling Carbon Fiber. We made some great contacts and continued to further develop the design. I trialled and tweaked the no-wobble custom clamp system and we also made sure to focus on the little details that will give durability and longevity to our products!

Details like; tweaking the ideal low gloss finish (for better scratch resistance), sourcing materials and hardware that can handle corrosive, salty environments. We even focused on setting the rubber coil washers 0.5mm further out to increase friction on the rubber. This was to provide a solution to reduce coil-ear wear (and prevent the dreaded coil-ear snap) in turn minimising the torque needed on the coil bolt! This journey started on ‘Detector Prospector’ so I want to say thanks to Steve Herschbach for hosting this awesome forum and to the supportive fellow detectorists who have read on, commented and made suggestions! There is no doubt Detect-Ed would be in a different position today if it weren’t for you all! It’s been a long time coming but it’s my pleasure to share with you the finished product… There are many more plans for Detect-Ed’s future endeavours so please stay tuned! If there’s any questions, of course feel free to comment or PM me. Visit the website at: www.detect-ed.com GL&HH, Ed

  12. Doc's Rod package for Minelab Equinox. Save your stock 2 piece upper for travel. This Carbon Fiber upper is 2.2 ounces lighter and way more stable. Comes with 2 lower fiber glass rods, Velcro® ties nuts and bolts. I have it listed on Ebay. The Carbon Fiber Upper is drilled with holes in the exact same location for head placement and arm cuff adjustment, so the adjustment that is comfortable for you now, will be the same adjustment you can make with this upper rod. NOTE: The Minelab stock lower rod will not work with this Carbon Fiber rod. For some reason Minelab made the lower rod just a little bit larger than all of their other rods. Go figure. That's why we include 2 lower 28 inch long rods. The upper is 34 inches long. Take care, Doc
