In Need Of A Good Pick For Detecting
Gold Dozer replied to Gold Dozer's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I do appreciate the offer but that was over 2 years ago I posted this. More or less I was needing some pointers on where to look and see what options are out there. Got some great feedback. I'm happy with the setup I have now. -
Bad News For Prospectors
Gold Dozer replied to Clay Diggins's topic in Research - Books, GPS, Mapping, Drones, etc
MyLandMatters is the best tool I have been able to find and I really really appreciate that this tool exists. I used to use multiple sites and tools and the more I got familiar with MyLandMatters the more I discovered that this site has most of the data that I was hunting and pecking for in other places. I've found property boundaries that were incorrect on other tools (that are far mor popular) that were spot on with Land Matters. The geological maps, topo maps, claim maps, and historical maps have been the most that I have personally found. This clearly has had someone investing in this that truly cares about the quality of the data they are presenting. This is even more evident with this communication. My only issue with it is I can't access it like I used to as it get's flagged for not meeting security requirements. I'm no IT specialist but I'm sure there is some feature on my PC that flags the site as malicious. I can get my phone to connect but if anyone has done that it is a bit challenging to navigate on a small screen with no mouse. This is a very tricky process and finding information is very tough for someone with my experience level. I truly appreciate what you've built and the only ask I have is if there is something that could be done to facilitate my access to the tool. -

GPZ Nugget Finder 12" Z-Search / Ferrite Balance
Gold Dozer replied to Libertas's topic in Minelab GPZ 7000 Forum
Extremely useful. Just for my own understanding why does the machine struggle to balance the ferrite but not the soil in some conditions? Is this preferred technique to use vs ferrite balancing with the ferrite on the ground? Or do you do this when you have having these challenges? -
Gold Seeker Hits A 5.75 Ounce Specimen
Gold Dozer replied to Goldseeker5000's topic in Minelab SD 2000 - GPX 5000 Forum
Great find! Super happy for you. There must be a good concentration of gold in that rock for a 19" EVO to hit on that thing at depth IMO. Sure sounded rock solid on your Youtube video. -
Do You Remember Finding Your First Nugget?
Gold Dozer replied to Glenn in CO's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Hard to forget the first. I had been detecting many times and found nothing but trash. I was actually out on a dry washing trip. Ground was to wet to sluice so I grabbed my only detector I had at the time. It was a Gold Monster 1000. Had only been detecting for about 10 minutes and dug up a target. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a very small picker less than a 10th of a gram. I was all alone and verbally said "This actually works!" It was a huge rush for such a small piece of gold. Moved on and found a 1/2 gram nugget about 10 feet away. At this point I thought I really was onto something special. Spent three more days of detecting and found nothing but trash. Funny how that works. I've had that happen more than once. I've found about 40 little nuggets with a detector at this point. Still haven't broke the one gram mark yet. -
17.39 Gram Nugget Found In Gold Basin
Gold Dozer replied to Goldseeker5000's topic in Minelab SD 2000 - GPX 5000 Forum
Great find buddy! That sure is a beauty! Had a great time working my butt off out there days prior to that find. Managed to get a chunk myself with some quarts attached. Far cry from what you got there but I'm still pretty happy with it. Thanks for the good times and memories. -

Great work out there! Was a rough start to the year but you sure found your stride. It's great to see these good times but I know there is great adversity that is overcome to get to these moments. Well deserved my friend. -
Congratulations Gold Catcher! It is so cool to see people that I have met in the field unearthing such amazing finds. It shows that hard work pays off. You are a very talented detectorist and this is a well deserved reward for you perseverance.

Not Sure What I Did To Urn This
Gold Dozer replied to Gold Dozer's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Can't confirm nor deny it was opened....... -
Spent most of my time prospecting and recently got a Manticore so I could dabble in relic hunting. Only been relic hunting for a couple weeks and I think I've found a total of $1.03 in spare change. Everything else I'd classify as trash. Yesterday I took the family out to a local beach and brought the manticore along. Found several lead sinkers, pull tabs, etc. I did come along a target that was pegging the centerline and reading 50-51 very consistently. Good target right? Well you never know what you're going to find I guess. Certainly the most valuable target I've ever found but this was one that wasn't going to go home with me. It was about 6" deep to the top of it. Anybody else ever found one of these? Maybe I'm lucky.....in a weird way.
