  1. Well at least you can say that XP finishes what they start...

I would have bought the small elliptical had that been the surprise...I'm wondering what the hold up is on that? they already have the molds from the Deus 1 (I still have that machine and coil) I know that the battery is in the shaft on that coil...is there just not enough room inside the coil to make it happen with the Deus ? It seems that the 9 inch round on the deus 2 is the same size as it was on the Deus 1 ......sorry for the ramble...

  2. 800 great machine...found lots of great stuff with it...I still have my wife's 800 to use if needed with the small coils. I have not picked it up since buying the M-Core but may have to if the small coil is needed.  But people saying saying the M core is no better the the 800 is ridiculous..more features deeper machine way better audio options etc.. come on man give me a break...😀

So, getting back to slaw or any aluminum for that matter. I see three general  identification scenarios:

    1) The aluminum trash gives a single ID. TT would show a perfect circle.

    2) The aluminum trash has two adjacent ID's (let's say 20 and 21). TT shows an oval.

    3) The aluminum trash has separated ID's (let's say 20, 29, and 32. TT shows 3 separated circles.

Now the problem is, gold jewelry comes in so many different shapes, sizes, karats, and alloys, that it produces the same identification results as all the various aluminum trash. As such, I fail to see how TT would provide any advantage to a jewelry hunter.

Identification of any target with the M-Core is through the digging process as it has been with any metal detector that I have ever used. For instance a quarter may read a 95 on a VLF detector. I in my collection of finds I have a gold nugget that also reads and sounds like a quarter on most the VLF's I've used. I mentioned TT size and irregularity in my post above as the M Core does not just produce perfectly round and oval shapes as you eluded to in your 3 scenarios. You would have to use the machine and dig many hundreds of targets and see for yourself. That being said I disagree with your jury verdict that the TT is not a useful addition when performing analysis of targets..I'm not going to go into any more details as I have many better things to do then debate with people I don't know about things they may or may not know on the internet..no offense intended 🙂

    Hi Strick.

When you say you can call out larger can slaw most of the time, are you suggesting that is due to TT or the intensity / loudness of the audio, the ID, the pinpoint size?

TT size and irregularity plus the audio which helps indicate the size of the target...this is only for larger pieces of can slaw...the smaller ones that read into the teens are harder to distinguish. I only use the PP for smaller deeper targets. Most of the can slaw I dig is not super deep like the coins are.

  5. Having dug lots of can slaw with the M-Core I can say with certainty that the TT and sound can help to identify these larger targets...Of course you don't know what you are passing up if you don't dig it but I am able to call out can slaw most of the time...am I fooling myself by sayin that? maybe and maybe not due to the odds that finding can slaw are greater then good targets in most situations... But a small piece of can slaw can TID the same as a gold ring...which is why I dig most non ferrous targets when hunting...

  6. My wife and I  the chance to run the 12x7 this past weekend up in the high sierras. The coil runs smoother then any of the other coils I have..lay the machine on its side on the ground...no problems at all...in fact we hardly had to do any noise cancels..We did not get over any gold but dug plenty of small bits of rubbish at depth..as usual Klunker showed us how it's done with his tried and true 7000.

  7. 350 thanks for taking us along. The turtle is cool...While at work yesterday I seen a crow pick up a baby ground squirrel and fly off with it chirping in it's claws then came a hawk to try to snatch it from the crow but the crow dropped it and I could not see what happened after that. The signet ring may clean up. I always hold out hope for things like that. As you know gold is softer then brass so you should be able to tell if doing a scratch test by that alone...one thing that used to fool me was that brass will test positive to 10k acid.

Having grown up with a sister that is totally deaf I can say that if you do not know sign language then just be patient and friendly and that is help enough. Lots of deaf people have been taught how to read lips so look them straight in the eye and talk a little slower. Learning how to at least spell in sign language is not a hard task but if you don't use it often they you may loose it.  Hearing aids and bone phones are great for hearing impaired folks but for someone with nerve damage that processes the signal from the cochlea to the brain (totally deaf) they wont work. I was very happy when I learned that the metal detector companies were adding things to help out with handicapped folks.

What's most concerning about the video, is the comments.

Many were saying things akin to, "Thanks for pointing out the problem with the Manticore", or "I was going to buy a Manticore, and now I'm not".

It gets my ire when newbies are being misled by erroneous information and half truths.

Its human nature....people are sponges they been and always will be...it's easy to believe and not think...it's harder to care than to not care... tell people what they want to hear and they run with it...If someone is on the fence about buying something tell them it's crap or hype and they will go with that...

  11. All terrain general is still all terrain general regardless of the disk being engaged or not....the targets will still appear in the same locations on the TT allowing you to still see bottle caps easily when in all metal and ignore them...if you get tired of all the noise when in all metal engage the disk and take your chances of missing a small gold chain. And he is just now finally impressed at how the M Core disks out bottle caps? Makes me wonder if he is even using the machine much..

  12. no problems...Ive heard of some people the bolt holding the coil comes loose but I have not touched the bolt in mine since installing it. if you are having problems with the shaft twisting just tighten the clamps...

  13. You can go crazy researching e bikes. Almost bought a fat tire but decided against it..weight of those bikes was the main reason. I said screw it and bought a Trek Rail 9.9 all carbon fiber and weighs 49 pounds..I can lift it over a fence or gate easily. Don't need any racks just a back pack and the Deus 2 with my gear in works really well. Some of the trails around where I live do not allow anything with a throttle on them and really the pedal assist takes off like a rocket. I've used it for getting to some relic spots but it's just fun to ride anywhere...My son threatens to steal it from me lol. Make sure you have all the tools if you get a flat esp out in the desert where thorns are everywhere.
