  1. Hello all..as I see many posts and comments on our shipping date, I wanted to clarify a few things:

I saw a comment: ''makro is up to its arm pits with trying to trying to straighten out the mess they have with the Racer release.'' on another forum.

I guess this is the price we have to pay for being so open and let all speak their free opinions about our products and also not denying any fault if there is any but rather keep everybody updated with the changes we are making on public forums. We understand that no matter what we do, we cannot make every single person happy or appreciate what we are trying to accomplish but it is OK. We will continue to do what we are doing for all those who are appreciate it and see the value behind it.

There are NO delays due to any changes we made based on customer feedbacks as they are all taken care of already such as coil covers, tone sequence, 3-tone depth increase etc.

And these were NOT any faults in the machine but rather changes we made based on testers' and customers feedbacks.

The only fault we came across so far is the issue with the bolt which is being addressed.

In my earlier post, I stated that we were planning to start shipping product the week of the 23rd. The date we start the shipments has not changed but:

Our shipments are scheduled and planned according to the dates we receive the official purchase orders from our distributors around the world.

We send products in order to be fair to all resellers so whoever places the official order first, gets the first shipment. And the first few shipments will go to Europe.

Therefore, US shipment may be delayed 1-2 weeks. If all goes well, we are planning to make the shipment the week of March 2.

    Thank you all!

  2. Hello all!

As you know, we made an announcement in December regarding Makro acquisition by Nokta.

For those who read the announcement thoroughly, one advantage of this merger we pointed out was that ‘’we will not only offer a richer product portfolio to our customers but address the whole market demand with products at different price levels.’’. This requires us to position the current and future Makro and Nokta products in the market correctly.

Taking into consideration the new Makro model ‘’Racer’’ that is being launched as well as the Nokta products that will be launched in 2015 and the years after, we need to make a revision in our FORS Gold/CoRe models.

    Below are the revised prices.

    MSRPs
    FORS Gold $699.00
    FORS Gold PRO PACKAGE $999.00
    FORS CoRe $699.00
    FORS CoRe PRO PACKAGE $999.00

We really hope the new pricing will be appreciated by those who are interested in the machine.

We also understand that this may upset some customers who recently purchased the device.

The last thing we want is unhappy customers - one unhappy customer is too many for us so if you purchased the device within the last 30 days, please contact me at dilek@noktadetectors.com to get a price adjustment coupon that can be used towards your next Nokta purchase.

    Thank you all!

  3. Once again customer service excellence delivers real world benefits to detectorists.

I can only hope that they are made of a durable plastic that will allow prospectors to scrub their coils. Why do manufacturers deliver coils with covers made of sub-par materials? Nugget Finders coils are a prime example. I have an 11x17 that they charge  $25+/- for a coil cover and I can easily scrub a hole in the cover in a couple weeks requiring  repair with epoxy. What a P.O.S.! I wish Minelab offered a larger selection of coils that did not weigh a ton I would eschew Nugget Finder and Coiltek forevermore.

Dilek, please forgive me for straying off topic into a mini-rant! :D  I am very excited about your participation on this and other forums and your present and upcoming products. Can you tell us yet the KHz Gold Racer will be?

    Merton

I really wish I could share that information but I really cannot at this point. It would not be right until the final testing stage is completed by the engineers and they give the go to the product. Hope you understand...

  4. Hello all.. we see a lot of comments regarding Makro RACER BT headphones and dongle so I wanted to clarify a few things:

First of all, adding BT headphones was not an after-thought. From the concept stage of the product, adding wireless headphones capability to the machine existed. However, we had 2 options; making the module built-in to the machine or providing it in an external dongle.

For us, both were equal in terms of engineering but it would make a difference in terms of the pricing. If we had the module built-in we had no choice but to add the cost to the machine which in return would increase the final retail price. As wireless headphones are not preferred by all users and it is a personal choice, we did not want somebody to pay extra for a feature they would not use so we decided to keep it as an optional feature.

Second, the dongle provided is a Nokta/Makro developed dongle and it has been optimized and tested for use with the optional Philips BT headphones.

Users may use alternative BT headphones but we cannot guarantee the performance as we have no way of testing all the BT headphones out there.

Should you have more questions, please feel free to contact me at dilek@noktadetectors.com

    Thank you!!

  5. Steve, what can I say? You are just great! As I was about to make the attempt to post the accessory prices, I see them posted here already... you just saved my time.

By the way, need to clarify something regarding the BT module - yes it will be sold separately for people who want to buy the Philips headphones on their own or for people who have it already.

It is true that the module will work with other BT headphones BUT we cannot guarantee the performance as the module was developed and tested for the Philips model we offer only. We have no way of testing it with all BT headphones out there.

  7. Hello all...we see a lot of disappointment with the coils included in the RACER Pro package in other forums. Nokta and Makro is all about what the customers need because your satisfaction is our motivation.

We will keep the 10''x5.5'' coil as an optional coil. This coil size will be the stock coil on the gold version that will be launched in a few months. Thank you!

Hello all...as we are getting many emails and messages inquiring about the Racer, we would like to give you a little bit more info.

The device has 2 versions - Racer and Gold Racer.

Racer is the coin & relic device and the Gold Racer is the prospecting one as the name implies. Racer will be launched first and Gold Racer will follow a few months after that. Racer runs on 14KHz. Gold version - waiting for the final testing stage.

We will be visiting USA next week to meet our distributors and upon our return we are planning to launch the product.

So we are expecting to start shipments early February if all goes smooth. Should there be any changes, I will definitely inform you.

    Thank you everybody!

  10. What is a Hybrid VLF? Same as a VLF/PI?

Quote from Nokta   "Our goal for the next few years is to dominate the detector sector with new products developed with unique technologies that will differentiate us and make us known not as a regular detector manufacturer but an exceptional company that exists with its technology. With the new products we are planning to launch between 2015-2017 (Pulse Induction detectors, new technology VLF and pulse imaging systems, hybrid VLF detectors, entry-level detectors, walk-thru security detectors, mine detectors etc.) and with your support, we wish to share the pride and happiness of achieving this goal all together."

These guys are really looking to shake things up!

If you do not mind, let me answer that question as we are closer to the finalization of the project and see the test results. FORS is doing great for us and we are close to launching the Makro Racer. I definitely do not want to start another thread for a product that is still at the R&D stage :-)

  11. The new Makro Racer will have the same performance -if not better in some circumstances - as the FORS delivered in a more elegant, and lighter design.

It will come in a standard and a pro pack like the FORS but we are not including the large coil in the pro pack this time because most people prefer the medium and the small ones and we also want the pro pack to be at an affordable price point for most users. The large coil will be sold seperately. We will also have an optional bluetooth headphones available for the unit. This is all for now... please do not ask for more info because I am not supposed to be giving all this information but I cannot hold off on answering you guys when I see the posts :-)

  12. It is actually real? I think I can honestly say I am stunned. Being who I am I of course studied the detector in the holiday card above with great interest. That design configuration, if it simply equals the FORS in performance, could be everything I would wish for in a VLF metal detector. It may be an understatement to say that I believe the Nokta/Makro partnership has the ability to seriously disrupt the U.S. detector market in 2015. In a good way. This is an amazing development.

I am considering the way and the incredible speed with which some simple user suggestions have been implemented. What I see as a genuine desire to provide superb product support. And frankly Dilek, the way in which you personally comport yourself and communicate openly is perhaps one of the greatest assets that the company has at this time. Your professional responses are a breath of fresh air. As a very committed long term user of metal detectors I think I speak for many in saying we have been craving this kind of attention from manufacturers. If all of this is a sign of how the company is going to handle itself going forward, well, all I can say is if I could I would purchase stock in a company like that.

Merry Christmas indeed, and I will let you in on a little secret also. Today is my birthday! I can't think of a better birthday gift than this news. It is a very exciting development, and 2015 is shaping up to be an incredible New Year! Again, best wishes Dilek to you and your team!

I sincerely thank you for the nice compliments... If I were a shy person, I think I would have  blushed reading your comments :-) To be honest with you, I do not think I am doing more than what my job entitles me to do. As the Sales & Marketing Manager at Nokta, I need to understand and hear firsthand from users what they need and what their issues are. When a customer in US or in any country buys our detector, we need to make sure that he/she will feel confident that we are there for him/her and not worry about the physical distance in between. And forums are the best way in achieving this goal so I must also thank you and all the members of this forum in that sense for welcoming us on your forum.

Enjoy your birthday and the rest of Christmas day! You and everybody else...

  13. And Best Wishes in Return to Everyone at Nokta and Makro!

I was fascinated to find out this morning that Santa Claus was born in Turkey. From http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nicholas

"Saint Nicholas (Greek: Ἅγιος Νικόλαος, Hagios Nikólaos, Latin: Sanctus Nicolaus); (15 March 270 – 6 December 343),[3][4] also called Nikolaos of Myra, was a historic 4th-century Christian saint and Greek[5] Bishop of Myra (Demre, part of modern-day Turkey)."

I like the look of the detector that Santa Claus is holding. Maybe something in the New Year to be happy about?

Merry Christmas and my best wishes for good health in the New Year to all my forum visitors and their families!!

Thank you Steve... yes Santa was born in Turkey as well as the detector he is holding in his hand :-)

I just sent you an email regarding this detector and I apologize to everybody on this forum because I just cannot share it with the other members - just yet. All I can say is that this detector will be launched under our MAKRO brand.

  14. So Dilek, does this merger mean that we in the USA will get battery chargers that we can actually plug in, and hats that actually fit on an adults head? (Just kidding).

I have been wondering about the relationship between Nokta and Makro since some of your products appear to be very similar. The merger sounds like it will bring good results for all.

    Bob

Hello Bob! We actually do include US adapters in our packages....did you buy one and it had no adapter? If that is the case, I am sorry and we can rush one out to you, no problem. Regarding the hats - now that is funny :-) I will discuss that with my purchasing department..

Yes, the acquisition will definitely bring out good results - especially for the end users.

    Thanks!

  15. Dear Valued Customers:

Today, we would like to make a very pleasing and important announcement which will have a significant impact on dealers, end users and the detector industry in general.

Nokta Detectors has been operating as an official Research & Development manufacturer since 2001 in Turkey. With the support of our valued customers, we have been growing at a very fast pace since our inception in the sector and today we export our products to more than 100 countries in 6 continents around the world.

2011 was a milestone year for us as we expanded our R&D team and made big investments in developing new detector technologies. Most of you have been following our fast growth and increasing brand awareness as a result of our products with rising sales graphics in the market. The very first factor behind our success is our technology and our strong engineering team and the second one is the fact that we listen to customers and develop products that meet the market demand.

As most of you are aware, there are 2 professional companies in Turkey serving and offering products to the detector industry: Nokta Detectors and Makro Detectors. In the past, these companies - whose owners are 2 brothers - have operated as independent manufacturers in the world market. In the midst of our growth in 2011, we made a strategic move and took the initial step in acquiring Makro Detectors who has been growing in parallel to Nokta. As a result of deliberations and under trade and confidentiality agreements, we bought some shares of Makro Detectors the same year. By combining our technology and expertise in the detector sector with Makro’s, we developed important projects. We developed and manufactured Golden Sense, Velox One, RS Pinpointer, Ultra Scanner hand-held detector and finally the FORS Gold and CoRe models under Nokta brand name and Deephunter, CF77 and finally the Makro Pointer, the first waterproof pinpointer in the world, under the Makro brand name. All were introduced and are presently sold in the market successfully. In addition, we developed a new Makro branded coin & relic detector called ‘’RACER’’ and a gold detector ‘’Gold RACER’’ which will enter the market very aggressively with its performance, design and price very soon!

Nokta Detectors’ developing and manufacturing the Makro branded products along with Nokta products and the fast increasing brand awareness of both brands in the world market opened the door for these two companies to unite their forces and after long deliberations, Nokta Detectors completely bought out Makro Detectors in December 2014.

Now, what does this important development mean for you and the sector and what will it bring in?

As a result of this acquisition, we have not only combined two strong brands but also a very experienced team in the specific detectors industry under the same roof. This will allow us to serve you with an absolute team spirit and in a much stronger position in terms of corporate structure as well as market share.

We will not only offer a richer product portfolio to our customers but address the whole market demand with products at different price levels. During all our processes from product concept to production, final control to delivery and after sales service, we will never sacrifice our praised customer oriented approach and service quality, which we have been implementing as Nokta and Makro since our foundation, and we will always aim for the better for our customers.

Our goal for the next few years is to dominate the detector sector with new products developed with unique technologies that will differentiate us and make us known not as a regular detector manufacturer but an exceptional company that exists with its technology. With the new products we are planning to launch between 2015-2017 (Pulse Induction detectors, new technology VLF and pulse imaging systems, hybrid VLF detectors, entry-level detectors, walk-thru security detectors, mine detectors etc.) and with your support, we wish to share the pride and happiness of achieving this goal all together.

As Nokta and Makro Detectors, we wish you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year and hope 2015 to be a very successful and prosperous year!

    Sincerely Yours,

    Nokta and Makro Detectors

  16. Hello all.. Dilek here (Sales & Marketing Manager) ...Thank you for the nice comments... as I have stated on a PM to one of the forum members this morning, I strongly believe that customer focus is where making better products starts. No manufacturer or product is perfect as we all make mistakes but listening to customers instead of making assumptions on what they need or will like is a key and this is what we are trying to accomplish. But then again demands are endless and believe me it is not as easy as it seems to incorporate it all into one machine especially if you are a manufacturer selling products to end users around the world with different needs. But we try our best as we believe that your feedbacks lead us in the right way to reach our company’s ultimate goal of 100% customer satisfaction with our products.

Regarding FORS - Now, some people do prefer it to be chest mount and some do not. We can make it chest mount but the problem is that the coil cable as well as the cable coming from the handle need to be much longer. Then these need to be tested again. In addition, we have to keep stock of 2 different versions of coils with different cable lengths. And when we add the small and the large coils to that, the burden is larger. So I really do not know if we can play around with FORS at this point but we will have new models coming out in the future geared towards different needs. Meanwhile feel free to give us your suggestions on what you want to see in a detector (mechanicals, design, electronics , functions, coils, price or whatever you can think of ). We love feedbacks!

Steve, as information on the new models are confidential at this point I cannot share them here on the forum but I can email you to give you some preliminary info to get your input if you wish.

    Thank you all!
