  1. Hello all.

Please note that we sent the wireless headphone samples to a few testers in the USA, Europe and Australia.
We got no negative feedback on the volume from any of the testers so we released them as they are. We believe it is more of a subjective point rather than an issue.
However, we are tweaking the volume now since some customers are concerned.
Since we did not ship any units to USA yet, no concern for the customers who have pre-ordered them as they will be getting the revised version.
For any customers who already bought them thru Europe or Australia and who think the volume is high, we can replace the headphones with a new one.

    Dear Valued Customers:

First of all, we thank you all for the increasing sales of our Racer series detectors.

As you all know, Racer 2 is an addition to our current Makro product line up and we have no intentions of discontinuing the original red Racer.
As a matter of fact, for those customers who do not need the extra features of the Racer 2, the original Racer still stands as a very good performing hi-end detector.

Many of our dealers and customers have been asking Nokta& Makro for a device that would retail around the $500 price range..
Therefore, as of June 1, 2016 we changed the price of the Racer as below to meet this request.
We believe that the new price change makes Racer absolutely the most competitive and attractive product in that price range!

    RACER STANDARD PACK
    SUGGESTED RETAIL $499

    RACER PRO PACK
    SUGGESTED RETAIL $699

    Thank you!

I second that.  I would like a 20khz in there somewhere though.  If we are dreaming why not go whole hog and give us a 1, 5, 15, 20 and 60.  Multi or single frequency.  Waterproof of course!

This device is not waterproof but hopefully our future models will be.

    The frequencies are PLANNED to be  - 4 - 14- 21.

    Thank you.

Just found this. Check it out

    Rumours of April/May release.

Maybe Dilek could provide an information update.

    thanks

    jim

Please note that it is all how you look at the stages of a product development.

Yes, the product is in testing BUT testing can last for months sometimes as a small change may lead to many other changes in the device.

We will definitely release this machine this year but giving a launch date at this stage would be misleading customers.

And even we could not launch this detector in April : -)

    DIRECT QUESTION TO DILEK (MAKRO/NOKTA)

    Hello Dilek

Just enquiring if your company has any plans to release a 19khz version of the RACER 2, or perhaps a 19khz analog version with knobs and switches (similar to AU GOLD FINDER). Think they would be great machines, and the housings, platforms, and technology you already have!

Just asking, as the GOLD FINDER and the 19khz FORS GOLD+ came out all of a sudden with no pre announcments.

Any latest news on the MAKRO IMPACT? Release date?

Any plans in place for a good PI machine?

    Great detectors by the way!

    thanks for your time

    jim

Hello... currently, we do not have those products in our product roadmap but we could if there was enough demand.

We would like to make all customers happy but we do not want to overdo it and confuse people either.

Nokta Impact is still in development. We will definitely release it this year.

And yes, we are working on a PI machine but will not be launched anytime soon.

    Thank you!

The Good thing about a matt screen is they also hide fine scratches from muddy fingers which keeps it looking smarter and more readable for longer.

Hope you don't mind me pointing that out,

    john

Mind? Aboslutely not... we appreciate feedbacks and comments especially the constructive ones such as this one. Thank you!

The Racer 2 is working really well in that Video, But there is one thing I would like to see changed on the machine  and that is Giving it a matt screen cover/lens because when the light from above hits it It makes it real hard to see the screen being too reflective. just a thought not being negative just an observation.

First time hearing this feedback...thank you!!!

Will do. Im glad to see Makro take an interest in a pissing match here talks big game. Makro claims it has made the most sensitive metal detectors ever made lol (it's on the box dont quote me) I would like to know....gb2 has claims as well. I'll be in contact with coil serials and the issues I was having with the 10.5. Feels good to get a response timely not waiting a week for replies from turkey via internet ?. Simple tech questions all I wanted. I will give you bench data when I get a chance to perform

By no means are we on this forum to make claims or to sell or to get into debates regarding competition. As a matter of fact, we refrain from getting involved in such discussions as  a manufacturer and we leave all that to the users of the products. Anybody who has been following my posts on this forum or others can vouch for that. We are just trying to verify some results to avoid any misinformation as well as support you in case there is a reason why you are experiencing different results than what we are seeing.

And how should I perform this bench test to be accurate. Eviromental Setting, measurement tool, testing procedure and Should they be in audio boost for what your looking for or normal operation. Gb2 is a different animal in its self what operation modes/adjustments you want that in for comparison. are you familiar with the goldbug 2. It has no default settings as the Makro does

    For a more objective test:

Please conduct the test outdoors as these 2 devices have different operating frequencies and may get affected differently from EMI.

We are very familiar with the model in comparison as we also do many benchmark tests in our development stages. Use the Gold Racer at factory defaults and set the model in comparison as you feel more comfortable with. You can compare All Metal to All Metal and our Discrimination 2 to the other model's iron off setting. Test materials- as gold nuggets will vary in size and shape the best would be to test a US Quarter and a nickel. No audio boost is necessary. After you finish testing and recording the results, turn up the sensitivity on the Gold Racer to the maximum level that the environmental conditions allow (you can leave all other settings at the factory defaults) and record your results again. Thank you!

PS - Coils - Try to compare similar size coils. In case you really have an issue with the 10x5.5'' coil, you can compare the small coils.

yeah and for me being precise I'm doing a bench test at home with a wooden ruler. Not a precision scientific test nor would I consider my findings exact or correct and this could be plus or minus an inch of error on both detectors, there could be interference or unseen variables. Not to mention both machines were tuned off the same ground to run correctly in use. This was not a max out all settings for depth. I wanted to see how it would be field tuned .  I am no engineer nor professional nor a certified critic. For a true test I do believe a DD on the gb2 if it was available would lower depth and not testing a machine with a higher khz and a concentric coil. Against a lower kHz with a DD coil and settings that reduce sensitivity and depth. Thanks for your concerns though my Makro runs fine. These are personal opinions  if you have official air bench test results for the Makro from the manufacture, post them I'd love to see the difference between what you gather than what I saw and see an official test.

We cannot post a bench mark test video as a manufacturer as it would not be ethical. However, below is the link to our air test video for the Gold Racer conducted with gold dust, different size nuggets as well as a men's wedding band. You can tell us what you are doing the air tests with and we can take a video with the same material here.

  11. We need to determine whether there is something wrong with your device or not.

At the factory defaults, can you please tell us the air test results for a US quarter and a nickel both in All Metal and Discrimination 2 modes for the Gold Racer as well as the model in comparison above?

I really don't know why you did not hear from the team as we are pretty quick in responding under normal conditions but I can guarantee that I will personally take care of it if there is any issue.

Next the Makro gold racer. Just picked up the pro package of this a couple weeks ago.  It has already pulled a couple grain size pieces lode gold. I am new to all digital and it's interesting features. I run it in all metal with manual ground balance audio boost on all time and drop the isat to as low of a setting to get her running smooth and boost my depth. It's a very interesting machine I love its shooter coil. Not so happy with the 10.5 I don't like it's hollow internals makes too much noise when I'm scraping the ground for really small Nuggets. Cool features haven't really made my mind up what I don't like setting wise but it has some really cool discrimination modes. The goldbug 2 beats it on sensitivity and depth on the air bench rather large margin, about a 3 inch difference both detectors with smaller shooter coils.

Hello. Just wanted to chime in here as your post got our attention.

There is really no way that the Gold Racer results will be 3 inches less than the GB2 in an air test unless there is something wrong with your coil and/or your detector. I will be PM'ing you with some questions if you do not mind.

    Thank you!

  14. Hello all.

Just wanted to chime in here.

This is in fact a Kellyco exclusive product in terms of distribution. Nokta will not ship this unit to resellers or end-users.  Kellyco will ship the product globally and may sell to resellers who are interested. The detector has been tested in the USA, Africa and Australia. Steve Herschbach also tested the product and he can feel free to comment on it. The pre-production unit Steve tested did not have the long coil cable or the hipmounting belt . The only change we made on the production units were the LEDs based on Steve's and another tester's feedback. They were not visible enough under bright sunlight so the update was made before we went into production.

Nokta did make the first shipment to USA and Kellyco should have the product in stock in a few days.

We can answer all questions regarding the specs or the features of the product. Any questions regarding pricing or shipment dates though should be directed to Kellyco.

Hope this info helps those who are interested.

    Thank you all!

The thing that made the White's MXT a huge hit was the knobs. I sold a ton of MXT detectors and it was because I could point a novice at the knobs and it was easy for them to see and understand each control. No doubt the same will apply here.

There is also the fact batteries and everything are in one self contained pod - no underarm batteries as in the Racers. I don't think that helps the balance out but it does raise the possibility the pod can be removed from the rod. What is that knob sticking out of the bottom? Is it a control (strange place for one) or a knurled screw that attaches the control pod to the rod? If the pod can be easily removed it can also be easily mounted on other rod assemblies. If Nokta offered coils with longer cables, or better yet a cable extension that would work on all coils, then a person could hip or chest mount the control box.

The dual LED ferrous/non-ferrous readout is cool - I have floated that as an idea for a long time to folks. Forget the target id stuff, just tell me if it is ferrous or non-ferrous, and this does it as simple as it can be done visually. Be nice if one was green and one red, and you could get both in play at once. Solid green, dig. Solid red, take a pass. Flickering green and red - how lucky do you feel?

This is just another detector that makes me think Makro/Nokta has effectively replaced Tesoro as a player in the market. This reminds me of what Tesoro could be doing if they were not asleep at the wheel.

More Information on Nokta AU Gold Finder

Thank you Steve for the comments. Yes, you did float the idea of the LEDs and you know we do listen to all our testers and customers and try our best to offer them what they need to the extent we can.

  16. I like it if it's legit. Would have preferred controls above handle and bulk of control box under the armrest ala GMT, but this is Eureka Gold / olds chool Goldmaster style which means hipmountable!! But that coil cable is too short to allow that. Interesting to see what becomes of this...

And the answer is, it is legit. The unit is going to be hip mountable and the cable will be longer.
