Really the nickel test is all I’m concerned about as that’s what Fisher tests. You’ve already had better results than I have.
I have a suggestion. How bout pack up your car and go detecting? Seems you are beating a dead horse to me. Good luck.

For me, the S shaft puts more stress on my wrist whereas the straight shaft puts the stress on my forearm . I feel no difference on my shoulder, one to the other. JMHO.

I have a question on the DEUS2 I'm curious about the 13-in coil how it would work on the beach only going after gold rings if anybody's had an experience I appreciate it ,thank you
It is all I use on the damp, wet and in the wash knee deep now on the Atlantic coast. I do not hunt dry sand. I use the 11” in the bay with my dry suit up to chest deep. I am primarily a salt water hunter. I have the 9” for land use ( ( ( trashy & iron laden dirt ) which is seldom.

I would think there would be a positive, negative, and shield. The shield would contact the ground somewhere but if not attached to the loose pin it would allow more EMI. Preliminary ohmmeter tests were ok both coils.
The shield is connected to the neg. in the connector. Only 2 pins used.
-
Only 2 of the three are used. One will be loose. Measure the coil with a ohm meter. Has nothing to do with the modes. If one works they all work.

I have, did that first but video of it was terrible. Results were the same. I’ve seen French videos of guys getting 16” in their work areas…
No need to answer me. EMI is always the quietest 5:00 AM. Now your settings are no where the same as Joe’s at the beach, which you said you watched. Lower your ATS to “0” lower your reject to “0” raise your sensitivity to “10”. Set your delay on “11”. As I have told you many times, the machine defaults to 7 uS every time it is turned on no matter what the dial is set on. I see yours is set for 7 so after you turn it on, rotate to “11”. These are extreme settings and sweep speed is critical but can be achieved as Joe shows.

but F350 and I were discussing ideas for an at least water resistant solution using the puck mounted on the shaft, ala WS6 Master, so that the VID can be easily seen
Not going to happen due to the charging port I think. With no back light and my blind eyes, I can’t hardly see what’s up right in front of my face haha.

I will stick to my plan of not considering the M-core until the small coil is released, and hopefully these issues will be addressed in a timely M-core update or two, by then., if I feel they are worth the extra $$.
I myself will stick with the Deus ll until the Manticore starts showing up on eBay for a much lower price. If they don’t show up, I am happy with the Deus ll.
Good luck everybody and HAPPY NEW CONGRESS UHH I MEAN YEAR!!!

I’m sure you have seen Joes videos on the AQ’s depth. 19” + on U Tube
I have no problem at 18” with either of my machines. If you listen to the threshold ramp down and back up only, much deeper than that I think.

Here is a 1 amp discharge graph I took of the stock battery right after charging it. It starts out close to 16.5 volts but drops to 15.5 volts or so right as load is applied and runs most of the duration around 12.5volts. The detector would have to have a boost converter to maintain TX source voltage at 15V. I need to make up a test cable attached to a bench supply to test the detector voltage range and behavior.
As far as sending the unit I left out the coil shaft and battery per their instructions. They send the unit back in an elaborate cardboard structure inside the box (see photo). Shipping cost is highly dependent on the box size so try for compact if you can. That is the standard box used to ship new units as well as repaired units.

I’ve always wondered why polycarbonate plastic (LEXAN) has not been used in an instance such as this? That stuffs tough !!!

CJC, could you post some photos of the wobbly shaft issue? Mine came back from Fisher without this being addressed. I baby it so maybe it’s a non-issue for now(?) Maybe all are like mine out of the factory?
Try tightening the bolt in the handle. Both mine are rock solid. Peel back the foam handle to access.

Back on the manticore deliveries - just had a call from my UK dealer and apparently the whole shipment of manticores are stuck at customs being investigated/checked.
Haha, if you believe that there is a guy willing to sell you a bridge in up state NY. Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. I’m sure everyone has heard that adage.

It has always been practice to minimize detectable materials in detection range. It would be good to see someone run target depth tests with different shaft types.
Although the pin pointer gives a response to the “wound” CF shaft it does not to the supplied extruded XP Deus ll. Also the Deus coils will not respond to the “wound” CF shaft nor the Deus ll extruded shaft marked CF. It I not an issue.

If they really wanted to squeeze every last dime out of us, I think a better plan would have been to keep the Manticore quiet and release the 700&900 first
That would not have stopped the run away train called the Deus ll flying off the shelf like crazy. They had to stop that train is my personal belief. The Manticore does seem to be equal or close to the Deus, other than a few things like warranty and Deus is actually 2 detectors for the price of one. Yet the actual roll out date seems to move backwards in time or at least supply is extremely limited. Good luck everybody and MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Something that I will check before I start. I have heard CF can conduct electric so it could be possible it has a small signature.
Carbon fiber can be detected with a pin pointer. Has always been that way. It is of little consequence though as IF the coil senses it, it is balanced out.

Well there's a 9" and 11" but no 13" on either site.... 🤣
You need to send a email straight to Ronnie that I sent you. They don’t always update their web page daily. Good luck. ronnie@thegolddigger.com

I just managed to get in touch with a human (Debbie) in customer service and she’ll call me back with a status. One of the issues it has is this wobbly mount.

golddigger.com is a porn site. They may sell XP search coils also, but I did not search the site looking for it. I found this out by going to golddigger.com and it asked me if I was over 18.
I will send you a PM

No apology’s needed. I stand on my post though. Merry Christmas to you and all. Eric and I discussed sending you a coil and at that time I told him I thought you had already sold your machine. He reached out to you from kindness and past endeavors. As for the TDI, I have several mails that he told me loop holes in the sale of the Dual Field rights gave up rights to the TDI that he regretted to the time of his passing. As far as the informative information on the AQ most were done in a negative manner on this forum. Eric did write a 7 page report on his findings of the AQ. None were in a negative tone though. None of my post was aimed at any one certain person including you, so I am sorry that you took it that way. For that I apologize.

Yeah, people with legitimate issues, actual real problems, they are just bashers, and certainly don’t deserve any help from you. How dare anyone do anything other than tell Fisher what a great job they have been doing, and how we all hope for more of the same.
Fisher sold the AQ as a limited addition and invited everyone to respond with their thoughts good, bad and otherwise to help produce a final version. After two years now most of us have responded to them with our thoughts. This particular issue was addressed by Dennis ( LE JAG ) in the beginning as well as others that kept their units and continued to use them, as others after a couple of months cut and ran and only posted their thoughts here. Most unfavorable. How many constructive emails did you send Fisher ? Clive is a good friend and I have reached out to him in support. This is your forum and you certainly can respond in any manner you wish, but your response is exactly what I wished to avoid. It does nothing to help Clive or others. It is though, an attempt to belittle me.

Andy’s wife Charlene told me months ago it was not finished yet. Maybe he has been tied up with the legend. Watch the videos out, read all the post here and get some time in the field and you will not need the book. XP videos are very informative on you tube.
