For me when I lived in AZ it was fish in the summer and gold in the winter. Here in NH it is similar until someone comes out and asks if I want to summer in a gold mining location probably in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California! LOL Unfortunately for me plans and fees had already been paid for the fishing end of things. Sometimes I wish I could mutate into two people and do both! LOL

GhostMiner ... It is very tempting but I am already signed up for 18+ Kayak bass tournaments in NH and ME. In the past I have done kayak bass tournaments all over the country with B.A.S.S.(Bassmaster) and KBF(Kayak Bass Fishing). I've been pretty busy also, so I know what you mean ... we can only do so much in our 24 hour days! 😃 I do appreciate your very generous offer but I must unfortunately decline for this year.

INDEED! Not a fool. It was obvious to many of us that it was a labor of love and a passion to share a great mining history and story to even the few of us that have been here so long. To call yourself a fool for doing this is foolish. You are a better man for having put yourself out there and shared yourself and your story line. I for one humbly THANK you for the entertainment and historical value of your posts!

Very sad to hear this GhostMiner ... I check almost every day and am disappointed when I don't see a post. Just a thought and request ... Could you at least complete this season even if only in an abbreviated way? I understand you ending ... I wish Steve had not posted what he did! If this is your final post then I wish you the best, thank you for your friendship and private communications. It has been a blast reading from way back on another now defunct forum! Mike Furness

If You Are A Believer Please Offer Up A Prayer

So sad Doc. My sons are about his same age ... I can't imagine losing one of them. Prayers to you and your family. May he R.I.P.! -
I'm pretty even tempered but ten yards and you have a catastrophic failure would have boiled my blood! My guess the arm was cracked when you picked it up and I'm guessing the owner knew it which is why it was available for you to rent. Otherwise he would have been using it. He couldn't or didn't want to do the repairs and knew if he rented it to someone it would be someone else's problem. His anger at the knowledge was planned, staged if you will. I would let him come get the beast and just let him take it. I would not pay him a dime for his trip expense or the repairs.
