  1. I found this button in a early 1900’s park in Utah County. I has a 3 point crown in the middle. No luck on the “google machine” so hopefully someone on here may have some insight as to a date and or manufacturer. The Nox read brass area but it was found about 8” with a square nail next to it. thanks for any help with this!
  2. I found this at the same place the 1899 Barber Dime came from, the old farm where I grew up in Wisconsin. It appears to be brass, and the thin strip of metal makes a "bwonggg" sound when plucked. Any guesses?
  3. i m a New member. i Live in Turkey. Love stones and minerals. is this stone galena ? i found the rock in seferihisar . Turkey Thanks....
  4. Found this in P.A in family farm . Looks like a broke golden arrowhead . Not sure any ideas . It's was about a foot in the ground solid the whole way through and very heavy .
  5. Hi guys, a fellow forum member here in Australia detected what I presume is an eagle buckle a few days ago (guessing US in origin). Any help in identifying it would be appreciated. As a side note, we have had a few US Civil War buckles found this year in Oz, most would probably have originated from US prospectors trying their luck our goldfields.
  6. I found this very worn coin on the beach with the Equinox. I'd @ 14 and appears to be similar metal to a nickel. There is the bust of a head on the front looking to the left. The reverse shows the number 5. I've searched Google for octagonal coins with no luck. I found this in an area where I was finding bronze nails from a 1860 shipwreck. Anyone know what it is? Thanks, Tim
  7. This was in the first batch of rocks I tumbled last month. It looks more like something crystalized over a metal object. Any ideas?
  8. Hiyas...I recently dug a part of a pewter flatware. I have never seen a makers mark or other identifying mark on flatware that I have dug before. Putting it under my scope, and fooling around a lot with lighting directions, this is about the best it is going to get. Any one have access to pewter manufacturer information? I am stumped so far. The bottom is METAL, the top left looks like a B or S to me, and the right side I believe is NTA
  9. Hello everyone I'm new to this and I would like to ask for any knowledge pertaining to this rock.....or thoughts thanks
  10. Hello. I was out detecting an old park today that I have been working for a little while which has an interesting history. In the early 1900's it was the site of a hotel, this closed down at some point and during the second world war the building was a military post office. Today it is just an old neglected park. So this morning I found what I think is the back of an old pocket watch, possibly gilded. It has "Made in U.S.A" stamped on it and a slot with small graduations under it it. On the left hand end is the letter "F" and on the right side is the letter "S". I am assuming this is a fast/slow adjustment? I have searched the net trying to find a similar item but with no luck. If anyone has an idea as to it's age I would be most appreciative.
  11. I was hunting some pasture a downhill slope where some area has been levelled out looking like a foundation of some kind. For me it looks like there has been some kind of building or similar but nothing left except green grass. I found this item. Cleaning it up I found 6 sun-markings. 3 to the left of the tip and 3 to the right. Could it be a part of a sundial? Any suggestions on the age?
