  3. 60 percent in our business is played by the correctly selected coil for the goals, tasks, environment, and also the factor of the chosen frequency. 30 Percent Detector. 10 Percent Operator.
  4. The last search for this season is a CTX3030 with a 13/17" reel. Settings applied: AMY..... put it in position 9 - adjusted the main balance - moved it to position 11. The answer is "normal." 5 tones Deep Goals Ground Coin Relic mode. I found some nickel coins and one small gold earring. The detector worked well and was stable
  5. Made a new acoustic device for F5. The result was good side and rear sound suppression. The sound is directed towards the operator - even weak signals from the target are heard. I tore the dynamic head away from the body (installing it on metal stands), which weakened the low-frequency signal - which improved performance in areas littered with iron.
  6. I am hunting for sensitivity 30 with a 17" coil ..... 11" I use in the surf zone or underwater search. I use EMI detuning to compensate for the ground .... the device is quiet - if there is noise, I play detuning from electromagnetic interference. You are moving in the right direction..... if you reduce the number of turns in TX a little, the sensitivity to small targets should increase .... if you increase the number of turns a little, the depth for larger targets will increase. There is no time to rework the sensor - as soon as I have the opportunity , I will improve the characteristics of the detector .
  7. The difference between a 17" coil versus an 11" detection depth is about 20% ( + - depending on the size of the object ) in favor of a 17 - inch one. It all depends on the correct setting of the detector . The only drawback is the loss of the depth of detection of small targets on very wet ground .
  10. Test F5 on the pit .... the soil is dry chernozem mixed with loam .... the goal is flat gold. Gold weight 0.4gr...... located in the plane - the detection depth is 10 cm plus .... on the edge - the detection depth is 5 cm. with a plus . Gold weight 1 gr. ..... located in the plane - the detection depth is 15 cm . ..... on the edge - the detection depth is 10 cm. The ground , if the target is a little deeper , drifts into the iron sector .
  11. I apologize for the incorrect translation of many words .
  12. MD test for flat gold - weighing 1 gr. and 0.4 gr. Test 1 ... the soil is loam - dry - with a high content of minerals having magnetic properties . Ground 66 ... one window is open in the iron oxide sector . The target weighing 1 gr. The depth of detection of the target in the plane .... 10 cm. on the edge ......... 10 see A goal weighing 0.4 g. Target detection depth in the plane .....5 cm. target on the edge .........5 see Test 2 ..... chernozem soil- very wet - contains small crystals of magnetite. Ground 49 .... in the iron oxide sector, one window is open. The target weighing 1 gr. The depth of detection of the target in the plane ....... 15 cm. with a slight minus. target on the edge ............. 10 see Target weighing 0.4 . Detection depth of the target in the plane ........,10 see the target is in the plane ......... 5 see Test 3 ..... the soil is black clay with thin dark brown layers - slightly moist - contains a large number of minerals with magnetic properties. Ground 69 ..... two windows are open in the iron oxide sector. The target weighing 1 gr. The depth of detection of the target in the plane ....... 10 cm. target on the edge ...............5 see with plus . A goal weighing 0.4 g. Detection depth of the target in the plane.........5 see with a plus Target on the edge ............5 see with a slight minus .
  13. My settings of the Fisher F5 device . "User mode" Turn on the device - sensitivity 99 .... Threshold set +8 .... with the Tones button, select 4 tones ....discrim to 0... by pressing the phase lock button , we set the ground balance - in some cases , additional manual adjustment of the Ground Balance is required . Depending on the soil, sometimes you have to use the Freq button - if the soil overestimates the VDI indicator on the target, then we translate by pressing this button into 2 positions .... if the soil underestimates the VDI indicator, then we turn on 3 positions. "All metals mode" The settings are normal .
  14. Let me summarize my work on changing Fisher F5 . 1. A slight bend of the barbell relieved the pressure on the hand and allowed to lengthen the shaft of the barbell, which led to a greater amplitude of mach - more coverage of the area in one mach. 2. By removing the middle aluminum shaft and at the same time extending the lower rod, the influence of the rod on the coil decreased, which led to a slight increase in the depth of object detection, as well as an increase in sensitivity to small targets. 3. Changing the location of the sound dynamic head gave a good acoustic result - without the use of additional electronic components. 4. Replacement of the detector batteries with more modern ones .... 4 days of operation on the old ones and 3 months on the new ones... that says it all . There is one more modernization to be done - improving the operation of the detector on highly mineralized soil ...
  15. I always have headphones with me - sometimes I use them . I often have to work in the thicket of the forest ( search engines from Canada and Alaska will understand me ) where there are many different "Predators"... I 'm not going to become a delicious piece of steak with blood on the dining table .
  16. When switching to 4 tones , the fourth tone with a higher frequency was faintly audible , and in case of wind or other interference it was not heard at all . I took the sound dynamic head out of the detector housing - placed it in a new housing and began to look for a location for practical and convenient use .... as practice has shown, the use is best placed at the bottom under the handle .... The housing is made for temporary use and will be redone. With this arrangement , all signals are perfectly audible - even very weak ones .
  17. When installing a larger sensor , the average aluminum shaft began to affect the coil - it had to be removed , and the lower shaft was cut in half and lengthened with the help of 1 part of the fishing rod and special glue - the length was adjusted immediately for its height .
  18. Replacement of old power supply batteries with modern batteries . As you can see from the photos , I removed the battery compartment and put them behind the armrest . Installed 2 pieces - connected in series - TR 18650 3.7 volt 4700 mAh batteries . The batteries are enough for 3 months of work - now you do not need to worry about where you can find a power distribution network for charging batteries .... very useful for long expeditions .... you can take an additional kit.
  19. Detector Fisher F5 + sensor Detech SEF 10/12 inches = the combination of two companies gives excellent search characteristics .
  20. Full view of the modified detector . The batteries are temporarily without a case . Some more changes will be made in the future . The weight is 1.4 kilograms .
  21. I changed the bending angle of the rod - around 3 .... 5 degrees. 1. Improved detector control. 2. The hand has become less tired. 3. The mach amplitude has increased.
  22. I 've been familiar with the Fisher F5 for three years ... I accidentally bought it for $ 200 with two coils - a regular concentric and DD Detech 10/12 inches SEF . Purchased to track the mineralization of the soil . At the first tests, when using the 10/12 sensor, the detector was very surprised by the detection range of various objects .... a nugget weighing 0.1 grams saw from 1.5 centimeters .... a copper coin with a diameter of 44 millimeters sees from 55 centimeters. ( test by air ) For three years of use, I had to upgrade the F5 a little .... changed the bending angle of the "rod" .... switched to using batteries - 2 pieces of 18650 .... moved the dynamic head... and so on .... I will write about this in more detail .... A very interesting machine - it works well on wet ground (meadows, fields) with a high content of acids, alkalis - a soil with high electrical conductivity with a low content of heavy minerals - where modern detectors using Multi-IQ technology do not easily see "targets". The Fisher F5 with a Detech SEF 10/12" coil is comparable in search characteristics to the EQUINOX 800 with an 11" sensor - depending on the soil , it wins somewhere , and loses somewhere .
