  1. Morning John! I just continue to be amazed at your gold recovery. You could probably make some extra money by bagging up some of the NSR gravel and selling it. Cheap of course lol. Did you ever make a post about how you built the speed controller for the motor?
  2. Mornin' John! You mean to say $80 bucks bought that gold coin and the silver bullet? I want that deal also lol.
  3. I for one would never beat someone up and want them to feel guilty for something that they did over 20 years ago. Especially since that 'something' turned out very successful. You took a gamble and you won and there is no reason to play the "what if" game or look back and feel guilty for that.
  4. Good morning John! Question for you. What do you use for a battery and did you make the PVC wash bars attached to the top of the highbanker? Is that the California made highbanker? I forgot the name of that company. Thank you John!
  5. You have to keep in mind that the real outlaws have brought this upon themselves. They want what you have and have been persistent in trying to steal it and have not been willing to take no for an answer. They and they alone have put the Miner's in the uncomfortable position of having to stop them and put an end to it. You either let them have what is yours or you put a stop to it.
  6. Great looking finds! Is that a Peace dollar?
  7. I just don't understand how you and Jacob could go back to mining without taking time to recruit extra help. You KNOW trouble is coming back and you guys aren't exactly invisible. If it were up to me I couldn't let that go. If they kill you then... you lose. Obviously you weren't killed but many others were and in 2002 you had no way to know what was going to happen. I would have hired guys straight out of prison if I had to. (lol probably where the hooligans were coming from)
  8. Too bad you don't have some video of Jacob and you guys on the claim. Or do you?
  9. Well I agree with you. Whether or not Vern is a idiot depends on how willing he is to back off and stifle himself and try it Jacob's way. The lost gold in the two pans should have been enough to convince him. God only knows how much gold Vern is responsible for losing out the end of the sluice. Well maybe they re-ran the tailings and got it all back. We'll see!
  10. Impressive set of tools. Those buttons ARE beautiful!
  11. When I lived in Portland Oregon I had a small house built in the early 50's. It was in the NE part of town and most homes were the same vintage in my neighborhood. We had water meters that were well past the sidewalk on the home owners side of it. I was told by more than one person that the city never installs water meters on home owners property. So basically the home owners property starts just past the water meter. But many people don't realize that and mistakenly think they're property starts at the curb. But it doesn't. In most older neighborhoods there's a strip of grass between the curb and the sidewalk and people maintain this as if it's their own. Which is nice of them and probably something the city wants them to do. But the actual property line starts behind the water meter, which has 2 or 3 feet of grass between it and the sidewalk and then the grass strip between that and the curb. And a lot of confusion can come up if you just jump out there and start detecting. While in Portland I belonged to Monte's (R.I.P.) detector club and we discussed this many times and the best way to go about it. A hardhat and safety vest never hurt anything lol. I don't recall Monte saying anything about asking permission but he wasn't stupid about it either. He nicely educated more than one homeowner about metal detecting in the grass strips and he would show them where their property line was. But he was never arrogant or rude and if the homeowner just really pitched a fit he would just move on. He always carried a loaner detector and many times he offered to let the homeowner use it and he would give them a quickie lesson. Monte loved that. Another thing is Monte was a expert at pinpointing a target and using a screw driver type probe to find it and he would pop it out of the ground after widening out a little slit above the coin. Of course he had a lesche digger but hardly ever would he cut a plug in someone's lawn that I know of. He never carried a shovel but had his cane and his detector all the time.
  12. Are you sure someone didn't sneak into the house while you were gone and take your jewelry? You told no one about the hidden stuff before you left?
  13. Say what?!?!? You had an argument with the Steve that owns this website? I can't imagine what the problem would be, unless he thinks... Well I will just let it go for now because I don't really know what the argument was about. I just hope you can get to feeling better soon and I suppose Steve didn't tell you to quit telling the story of what happened or else you would have told us readers "good bye". Like I have told you before I can keep a secret. PM me anytime you want to and you better because I want to know what ended up happening in 2002 and especially about Jacob. Remember you promised a picture of him. God bless you too man.
