  1. Lol sounds like my outing this weekend. Not a lot. Clad, foil, ring pulls. Finding an old style ring pull felt good after a while. lol Still had a blast.
  2. Thx all. Went out today to detect on my sisters property. There is a lost 24k ring somewhere on the land, didn't find it. But I took my daughter 16 and let her use my old detector. We didn't find much but she liked it and she doesn't like doing well, much, lol. Funny thing is she kept getting good targets with that old noname detector. I was laughing about that. So we drove home talking about the old fields we were driving past, planning our next adventure. So I found a different kind of treasure. The best kind.
  3. As a newbie I love the Legend. It is so easy to use even I can't do too bad. I think of this detector as a platform. Nokta seems very on top of fixing things and new coils are on their way. I will get the 9x5 for sure. This machine will shine brighter and brighter as feedback is put into the machine and the platform grows. and as a noob I like the idea that I got a great machine at a great price. Easy to use, light, flexible, I am very glad I got into this hobby with this as my first metal detector, I love it. Hell I found half a horse shoe the other day. Can't beat that!
  4. Thanks! it was between that and TerraFirma 🙂 And thank you for the tips! Nice to know how other people handle permissions.
  5. Hello! I am just starting out metal detecting. My detector is the Nokta Makro Legend, my first real detector. I live in Southern NH. So far I have done a little detecting on a farm but that permission isn't working out. So I have been going to parks, local hiking trails, the woods. Best find so far was an OX Knob and an Indian Head penny. I will be at BONE 29 in April. Biggest challenge is of course, getting permissions. It seems like I am going to have to do some door knocking. Anyway, shout out to all my NH diggers. Nothing better than digging a hole in NH. lol Anyone want to share a sweet permission, let me know! 🙂
  6. Hey Platinum! Thanks I will check in on the meet and greet forums. I am not a huge Heavy Metal fan but I LOVE Iron Maiden. Seen them twice and will see them this October. Thanks for the warm welcome. The best part about this hobby really is the people I have met. They love history and sharing stories and helping. Coils to the soil mate!
  7. Just started detecting last month with my Legend. I secured a permission to a colonial era farm. Was a beautiful place, only detected by the home owner. So I am out there maybe 30 mins....no foil...good sign... Get a nice solid 40, start diggin...and what to my wondering eyes should appear? An OX KNOB! I GOT AN OX KNOB! WOOT! You old timers may not be impressed but I was over the moon. My first real relic. Another 30 mins, nice 33, cant find it in hole or plug...look over and next to the shovel I see green! Bam! An old crusty Indian head penny! Another first! The penny was in bad shape, barely identifiable. It started raining so I quit and showed the home owner and she insisted on keeping both. I smiled and said sure. Just glad to have found something old. Then she says, I hope you don't feel bad that I am taking both. So I say, nah, no problem. Then she says "I am going to keep everything you find." I said no problem, and left. I Don't really get why she said that, but she owns the place, and I was just happy to find my first cool finds. I may go back, but knowing she wont let me keep anything is disappointing. But I will always remember that moment holding my beautiful ox knob. Oh yeah, so I am showing her the indian head and we couldn't identify it for certain at first. So she grabs it and says, sometimes running water over it works. At this point she had already said she was keeping it so I didn't object to her destroying the coin by washing it....which in fact did erase nearly all detail. She ruined my first coin. Took, my knob and broke my heart. Lol Totally worth it.
  8. Just got the tracking info. Great news. Bought from metaldetector.com
  9. Thanks for the heads up. Who did you order from?
  10. Agree, Dilek is awesome. I reached out to her about the pro pack shipments and she responded quickly. Like Paystreak superfreak said..."Try that with the competition" They are on the way as we speak and that sweet 6inch coil is going to be sweet.
