  1. I emailed Garrett in January a question about the headphones dropping connection (just needed to put them on the correct direction) and mentioned how the cover was a sloppy fit and tape cured the problem, no big deal. They sent me a new tighter fitting cover anyway. Great service.
  2. What would be the advantages of beach hunting in All Terrain General anyway? There is 4 different Beach programs built in already with nothing notched out. Can't those be used? Minelab doesn't need to change the ATG program because it misses gold at the beach. Experienced users have full access to change settings to whatever they want. I'm mostly an inland hunter since the beaches here in Oregon are most part just too cold and windy for people to swim or lounge around in bikinis. If I wanted to go and detect I would just use a beach program and be happy.
  3. Make sure you are holding the button down continuously while doing the iron check. Or it may be a faulty button causing it to go to menu? I found if the possible iron target is either fairly shallow or big the iron buzz may not sound.
  4. Added weight is not a bad thing in the right location, as in the rear of the detector, helps the balance. I find better the balance better the swing, takes less wrist strain and put the weight on the whole arm which I can handle better. I added a whole pound of fishing pencil weight to the end and it was a whole lot better than stock weight. What would be better is if someone could make a battery container that took a bigger battery than what comes with the machine and attached to the end of the shaft. Delete the internal battery in the handle, run the wires though the shaft. More battery capacity and moves the weight for better balance. May not be water proof anymore, but I don't plan on going in the water anyway.
  5. My Axiom always changed numbers after changing modes. Never affected the way the machine ground balanced or operated.
  6. Good plan. Mostly a lurker, but will contribute when I have something to say.
  7. Only real issue that I have found is that the rubber charge port cover doesn't fit very tight, but a piece of tape takes care of that. Personal tweak that I did was to reverse the arm cuff for comfort, it was digging into my upper arm. Nice running machine.
  8. Author Garrett Metal Detectors We plan to begin shipping to distributors and dealers mid to late August. Please contact your local dealer (Where to Buy Sport Products | Garrett Metal Detectors) to see when the Axiom will be available there. This was posted July 27 on Garretts facebook page. This along with all of the videos gave the illusion that the machine was almost ready. Is it better that it was delayed for further testing and updating, you bet. I was just hoping to have it in my hands since I'm halfway to Arizona goldfields on my winter migration. Thanks to Steve, Gerry and all of the other testers to bring a made in USA detector to the public.
  9. Rather have a product that is 100%, But as mentioned before that companies introduces a product that takes months to actually release is plain crap. We have seen the how to videos and mouthful of gold months ago. Waiting for a 100% product for a couple months is acceptable, but if the product wasn't close to ready why even mention it? I have money down on one also. I'll just have to wait like the rest.
  10. In their intro video they stated weeks and on Garretts offical facebook post it was middle or end of August, never a mention by end of year.
