  1. Besides my message to Minelab, I have thought about ordering from an Australian dealer and paying to have the Manticore shipped two day air or something. But, I decided that was probably going to cost me a few hundred dollars extra and I would wind up with two of them so I scuddled that idea.
  2. I hope you do get one and quickly, longbow62. Not being one to hold my disgust inside (yeah, I'm a grumpy old man ), I contacted Minelab and let them know they need to get more Manticores out the door to the U.S. quickly if they don't want to anger American customers. Afterall, we were sort of promised "By Christmas" from their full page advertisement in Prospector Magazine. I've probably made sure we won't see anymore Manticores here until February with my tart message to them!! But, it made me feel better not just sitting here being a patsy.
  3. My dealer confirmed there are only 14 Manticore units he is aware of being shipped to distributors. He sounds like he is angry that Minelab isn't shipping more and faster to the U.S. There are a lot of people here waiting for these machines.
  4. Wow! Just 14 Manticores! That can't be an entire shipment, can it? I wonder if Gerry is still going to be able to fly to Chicago to pick one up to take to Mexico. And, as far as the 700 and 900 Nox I doubt they will be in production for a couple months or longer.
  5. How to tell when the Manticore shipment hits U.S. shores. If your dealer isn't on top of his contact at the distributor or Minelab Americas here is how you can tell when they arrive. Of course, this FREE service might have a delay built in that I am unaware of. Otherwise just scroll down and see if any large shipments have arrived at Minelab Americas. In some cases it even says what has arrived and how many. https://importkey.com/search/minelab
  6. From this video alone, I would say yes, at least for me. The plots are very telling in my sense and this doesn't even cover those plots that show multiple items on the screen. But, to each his own.
  7. Looks like a French dealer is offering a 5% discount on the Manticore. I don't speak French so I'm not certain.
  8. Digalicious, here is a new video that provides a better understanding of how the Target Trace 2D screen presents various objects scanned. It might help you answer some of your concerns.
  9. At least it is on the way to you and before Christmas. But I sure hope the row boat Minelab sent them on to Canada doesn't have any problems navigating the fridged waters of the northern hemisphere. Now that I think about it, Minelab Americas is in the Chicago area so everyone in North America is probably looking at the same time frame.
  10. That's so true, la torche. Looks like another day without a Manticore Cessna shipment arriving. I guess I'll go do something constructive like writing a Christmas check to Toys For Tots or the local food bank. Maybe that will remind me what is really important in life.
  11. Here it is folks. https://www.minelab.com/__files/f/494595/4901-0419-2 Inst Manual, EQUINOX 700 900 EN.pdf
  12. Well, it's been a week so that plane must be flying all around the world with the U.S. as the last stop. Or maybe it is just a little Cessna and they take a few then have to go back and get some more then they deliver those and go back to get some more and on and on.
  13. Good deal. At least they have landed in the U.K. and it won't be long now for you. I think phrunt said he would have his this week. Hope it is in the mail to him already.
  14. So, your UK dealer has received his shipment of Manticores? Or they are on the way from the UK distributor? Do you know how many he received?
  15. Digalicious, I think you are going to have to wait until some users have the Manticore in hand to know precisely how the Target Trace helps them beyond sound and TID numbers. Or you will need to try one and see if it is helpful to you. Maybe you will just be happy with sounds and watching TID numbers. And, of course, the Target Trace screen is not the only advantage that the Manticore brings to the table.
  16. I might think the target ID is jumping around and decide to not dig an "iffy" target where the screen might show me that this is actually two objects smearing the TID. Realize I don't have a Manticore in hand and am only speculating that this will be valuable to me.
  17. I'm sure others here much smarter than I will give you a better explanation. But for idiots like me, my ears aren't good enough to distinguish two targets vs one target jumping around and I often can't tell that the TID jumping back and forth is doing so between two (or more) targets or just one inconsistent target. The Target Trace will solve that problem for me in most cases by showing me two distinct targets or a ferrous target smeared into a good target. Also, the TID is the X scale on the screen left to right. But there is no TID for the ferrous ID on the Y scale (up and down). The Target Trace screen is showing you both scales together to improve your understanding of the target(s) under the coil. That's just my 2 cents.
  18. What's in the Manticore box? I do see a manual in this one.
  19. This must be in Australia. I see green plants out the window and this guy isn't dressed for cold weather.
  20. They are starting to get their Manticores in Australia. Europe and the U.S. are still baren.
  21. If detectors could only give us specific gravity of targets. That info might be in their EMF somehow. Sorry, I was day dreaming there for a minute.
  22. I don't know how populated your beach is but it looks like the Manticore is working well for you with very little trash.
  23. Its another example of a Detector Forum website that could use Steve H. to come over and setup a modern forum structure for them.
  24. Not only that but the shaft/coil connection is different. The Nox has the ears on the coil and the Manticore has the ears on the shaft. (Advantage Minelab - buy new coils)
  25. Minelab would love it if everyone replaced their 800 with a 900, ordered a Manticore and saved up enough money to buy the new CTX 4040 that's coming. I think I will just stick with my Legend and Manticore when it arrives. I've only got two arms to swing these toys.
