  1. Well after having my detector for only three days Dimitar repaired the original issue as well as all the damage the USPS ( and myself ) caused during shipping. I must admit my box was not the most sturdy of boxes. I’m not sure where Dimitar got the box he returned it in, but, it is by far the most sturdy thick box I have ever seen. It is bound for my attic for future use if needed. OK let’s get down to brass tacks. Owning over 18 detectors the service I received from Tarsacci was hands down the best in all categories. My original issue with heat was my power connector in the control housing showed signs of oxidation. The heat outside and the oxidation created expansion and contraction of the connector which was my power issue. Tarsacci replaced my connector. Now the control box was ruined so I received a new back panel with new coil and phone waterproof connectors. I had previously closed off my speaker openings as I am a water hunter, so, Tarsacci did not install a speaker in the new one and there will be no need to dam off the openings. There was really no need to do on the first one. Just my unwarranted worries. I also received a new screen and a new switch plate to round things off. I now have a complete new control box. In previous conversations I had mentioned I wished I could dim the back light as at night it is very bright and I had made a sun shield to dim it. Soooo Tarsacci remembered this conversation and dimmed my back light for me !!! I also received a new battery cap, new 0 rings and a new coil bolt !!! Is that top of the line or what ? Now if I had any complaints ( AND I DON’T ) I ordered a T shirt as well. I asked for a large and Dimitar told me a large fit him well and he is 6’2” 245 lbs. Lordy, I’m 5’10” and 145 lbs so I said send me a medium. I received a large. Other than that everything was more than perfect, and all this for less than taking my girlfriend out to dinner and drinks !!! If you don’t own a Tarsacci and am concerned about a smaller start up company, don’t be ! He is top of the line and the detector paired with my PI machine is all I need. It is truly a different type detector that works as well on dirt as it does the beach. Sorry for the long post but Tarsacci went above and beyond.
  2. i had the 12" coil on and used 9 khz black sand on and 5 gain, -2 threshold 41 salt balance . i did not get past a patch of grass 6x6 ft just kept hitting targets, quarters I,D at 18-20 no small foils lots of targets in the 8" range, left because of the rain
  3. You definitely want to to take the time to find how various targets respond to the 4 different frequencies & other variables in settings. Here’s one example….. HH! Aaron
  4. I’m always reading over the Tarsacci manual and with my Tarsacci in hand as I go . I was reading over the discrimination and like some other detectors you can cut out some targets. It shows you will still get the ID number but no sound. Well I can run the discrimination up to a +30 and I get the target sound as if it was on zero on everything. I got the mode set on discrimination and the level of discrimination set at +30 but don’t make any difference. I know I’ll still get the target ID but shouldn’t hear it . This is the first time I’ve checked this out and I done it to see if it was working correctly . I haven’t heard of a reboot but I hope it’s something I can do to correct this problem. I don’t like the idea of having to send it back already. Chuck
  5. I continue to have a lot of questions on the salinity balance and how to use it. This is one example using it to cancel out small foil while still finding small gold in the 1-5 VDI range. Aaron
  6. Mailed my detector to California today. Going to find out why it won’t turn off at times or won’t turn on at times outdoors in 80+ degrees. Indoors 70 degrees works like it should. I will post the results.
  7. Sometimes rusty caps can really fool you, however there usually tell tall signs. A lot of caps come in at quarter range (23-25). The audio may also sound pretty good though it’s never going to be that sweet high tone, however you may still be tempted to dig it. In this video I am hunting in very low minerals (560), the Tarsacci always works better in higher minerals. In this low mineralized dirt, you can try every trick in the book, whipping and raising the coil, the crown cap is still going to sound good, though there will be tell tale signs like iron wrap around high end numbers. So try this...switch your frequency to 6.4 and then whip the coil, the audio really changes! Check out the video demo... Thanks! Aaron
  8. Once again today my Tarsacci would not turn off. You could feel the tactile switch clicking but no effect. I finally removed the battery cap and turned it off. I reinstalled the battery cap and could hear static in my phones as the cap negative made contact but a blank screen. I pushed and pushed and pushed the on switch to no avail. After removing the battery cap several more times each time reapplying I could hear the static in the phones but no screen. Finally upon installing the cap it came to life. I did notice that the salt balance was not acting as normal also in all frequencies. Keep in mind I have used this machine regularly for two years so I know it fairly well. This only started when I installed the new 12” coil. That is the only difference. I will put the stock coil back on and give it a go.
  9. Can someone ex plane to me what this is, and how to work it , I think i am missing something
  10. I have a Tarsacci on the way, should be here by mid week. Reading some of the posts 18 KHz hasn’t been as productive hitting silver in some of the posts I have read. I will be hunting pasture, old camp sites and old house sites. There will be iron and sometimes lots of it. Hunting for Buttons, bullets and other relics would you use 6 kHz 9 kHz 12 kHz or back to the 18 kHz. Silver of course would be a high conductor, I would think brass and lead might fall into the mid range conductors. if anyone would share their experience with me I would appreciate it. .
  11. I have been detecting for about 30 years I have used a lot of brands and machines. I was out of detecting for about 5 years due to an injury but recently purchased a Nox 800. While looking for videos on the Nox I came across a video of this machine. The videos are impressive. So now my research begins in this machine and would appreciate any input from the folks here. I live in Arkansas (Ozarks) and basically hunt for civil war relics in pasture and old house sites. In my mind I thought the stock coil would be the way to go but some are talking about how well the Beast separates in Iron. just asking for honest feedback you do not have a claim jumper in me.
  12. I had to go out of town yesterday and got back late today and had planned to take my Tarsacci with me but didn’t. I wanted to educate myself on going through the menu of my Tarsacci but could only watch your videos on how to do it . Well I pickup my Tarsacci and without looking at anything I ran through everything like I’d been doing it for a long time. I figure with your time and trouble making all the videos reduced my learning curve saving me lots of time. The speaker on the Tarsacci don’t boom out but with the headphones on they blow the wax out of your ears. Thanks Aaron ! Chuck
  13. Just got the TARsacci, and am new to it . so I was out at the park and kept getting signals that after digging the plug i got no sound. so I thought G WIZZ could anything be that deep ? so i dug down and down and finnaly the pinpointer started to beep. and i figured it must be a big iron . but low and behold at a full 14" up comes a brass lamp part. and get this i did not have the detector maxed out i was in 6.5khz black sand on and salinity on at 37 and a gain of 5 and threshold of 2. Also it can agnor some kinda beefy foils and not only ignore them on the suface, ( I dug no small foils) but you can whack a penny derectly under the foil and no masking like 7" under the foil I did the testing . no VLF I know will do that . I will be selling my TDI soon the Tarsacci not only ignors the small foils but can hit silver and Gold under the foil
  14. A true test for any detector. Yesterday, took the Tar to my favorite HS football stadium. Gave the side lines and other areas around the field a good going over with a couple different machines last year. As expected I was hunting down targets that I just flat out missed. The real test for the Standard coil came around the edges of the home grand stands. It gets hunted, but I mean No Body even trys to clear out 30 years of aluminum , iron bolts etc, accumulated. Got to admit this coil with it's spot on pinpointing surprised me on its ability to pry out coins between and sometimes in the same hole. So the coins I managed out of this mess helped with the days hunt. Ended up with 33 coins for $5.02. No bling but 8 of those coins were nickels. That were coming in on a solid 06. Not too bad for batting clean up. To be fair I've hunted 3 sites this year by the Tar and another favorite machine, and couldn't break a buck. It just wasn't there. I blame it on the competition and lack of use due to the Covid. I guy got to have a excuse, can't he.
  15. Just got this machine, so i just wanted to take it out in the yard i have hunted for 4 weeks with the XP ORXand DEUS , after digging some tabs , which amazed me as i had been over this spot , and not just one but 6 targets i missed then i find the sterling Military pendant at 7" deep . I did not dig one Iron item, but i could hear iron . all i can say is this machine is different and its good ,very good . in 5 minutes this machine pulled out the 1st silver from this site.
  16. No pics to show, but I did a video, can’t upload it to this forum. But I wanted to say the one reason I wanted to try the Tarsacci was I heard it might be doable in the red dirt of VA. I have a friend that lives near Culpeper and she has a test garden. Items have been in the ground for about 5 months. The tarsacci heard the targets at different depths with no issues. I love this machine and will use it at the upcoming hunts this fall in the red dirt! The deus struggled and only heard a few targets in the same test garden.
  17. The 12 inch coil is awesome in the iron. Still no silver. But I just haven’t gotten over top of it yet. That small flat button was at least 12 inches down and next to iron!
  18. I ended up getting out in the lake last weekend & finding another really deep Buffalo with co-located iron. Not too much else, people won’t start swimming till the end of May. I stick to the iron areas that most avoid, going slow. Thanks, Aaron
  19. Had a good friend loan me his Tarsacci for a few months. Settings: Sens 9, Black sand ON, Salt 33, 9khz, disc -30, G-bal 623. Tested both coils First off, if you are tall like me the detector is NOT long enough. I know Steve is working on an extension but here is the problem. Not enough coil cable length. So if you are tall and plan to order one, be sure to ask for longer coil cable length . Myself, I would need 4-5 inches more rod length. Pros: Works good in the wave wash [all metal mode], good depth, silent running wet sand, NO EMI issues in a known EMI problem area, Awesome battery, good sound and volume. Pinpoints well in mixed mode, good target separation, fast recovery speed, large coil was just as stable in saltwater. Cons: Too short, lousy coil mount location on small coil, poor on target identification [vdi display]. Iron wrap around issues, gold chain issue?. I will probably ramble some so if you have a question please ask. For the most part worked in all metal. I was impressed how the Tarsacci handled moving salt water. While it is no GT Sovereign, it is 100% better than the Equinox. There is an initial disturbance by the wave and then sometimes on withdrawal but working in the wash is more than workable. Also you will never lose or bury a target in a hole of soft sand like the equinox. The tarsacci will chase it all the way until you recover. The ability of the machine to give you tone and VDI numbers at depth is a question. I was not confident that the machine separates the difference between iron and non-ferrous well at depth. While I dug very few nails and no bobby pins the MDT had an issue with the ferrous Mexican coins. Many of them would want to ring-up and some of them indicated must dig. I would say anything past 8 inches had issues to where the target would not lock-out. I am sure more time on this machine would solve some of this confidence. One tip I have on deep targets is to take a small scoop of sand 3-4 inches off. The MDT did better reading targets regardless if there was water in the hole made or not. On my last day both myself and my friend were on the MDT and myself the Equinox. I found a gold wrist chain that had a small name plate on it. I hit a solid 5. When we got together the MDT would not lock out on the chain with the 12”round coil, even on top of it. I could take the Equinox to about 4” above it and still locked out at 5. All in all, the machine was a pleasure to use. The increased coverage of the larger coil is well noted, and in my case no difference in salt water effect on the machine. Target identification takes a bit longer than the Equinox, but the MDT exceeds in moving water contact. It is not even close. Also the loss of EMI issues for three blocks of beach is a huge plus. Dave
  20. A site that plenty of us have hit, the tarsacci finds the old brass in the iron! 🙂 8 colonial buttons!
  21. Many folks have inquired just how does tracking work and how do you set it? Here’s a quick video that explains everything! Aaron
  22. Today I went to a site that I was trying to find the rest of a “Civil War gold corps badge”, I found part of it a few months ago with my DEUS....thinking that if any machine will find the rest of it the Tarsacci will find it. The target separation with that 12 inch coil is pretty awesome! But, it didn’t happen. Not today anyways. But I was in the area we gridded and the tarsacci was hitting some very deep brass and under the iron, that just keeps impressing me about this machine! I know one of the targets was at least 15 inches! I will have to get a new shovel if this keeps up! I think Dimitar needs to include a taller shovel with every sale of the “Tarsacci”!! No Silver yet with the tarsacci, but I know thats coming!
  23. I was going out my door yesterday and here comes the mail man with my Tarsacci. I didn’t have the time to open the box and take a look. I was headed to a wild birthday party of a 7 year old granddaughter that I couldn’t miss . She may never know what I gave up for her. Then getting home late and other family at my house I again had to put it off opening that box. Here I sit in my little corner of my church waiting for service to start telling you all this a day later. I did get the box open and got my Tarsacci fired up and that’s all . All together now. Poor Chuck Happy Easter to all and best to all on what life has to offer. Chuck
  24. Hey, right now even though I got a lot of hours on the Standard coil, I still got a bunch to learn. In most areas it's very hard to come up with a Gold Ring while mud hunting. (Unless you got a hot lead) I went a little over 2 years without, until last year when I came up with 3 out of the mud and 1 wading. This is with the same machine I went dry with for 2 years plus. A guy can get some serious doubts about his hunting in that length of time. That's Buckets of tabs & Alum slaw. Was it me , my machine or the law of averages? I'll say this, 3 of those rings came from practically hunted out ball fields. I mean it would be a challenge to dig a dozen tabs in a couple of these sites. So as far as this type of hunting "Gold is where you find it" As it's going right now, Silver jewelry is popping up now and then, cause it's there. I'll be getting the 12 inch in a couple of months to go over what I've been going over. A guy gotta give himself an edge, don't be.
  25. I like the abbreviation of settings on the Tarsacci more so than trying to remember what a Icon is on other detectors. It may just be me when I’d jump from one detector having icons to another presented a problem for me. Don’t get me wrong but when I seen the Tarsacci I said Sunny Beach California that detector is for me. My problem may be just a age factor. Chuck
