  1. That's a good video from CCH, he has been doing some good work lately Thanks Tom.
  2. Thanks Nenad, I like the Older ML machines, I made some great finds back then and they did put the fun indetecting, now a person has to be a programmer too which some enjoy but I just can't wait to dig and do my research, The CTX is a great machine but the junk here makes detecting very slow, You should come over some time because I have a place where not many have detected and I have been finding parts of Roman Helmets and allsorts near by and I have found a Villa but no one knows yet, john
  3. Des, If I could have of any detector it would be the Relic Hawk, And the Lightning speed of the Musketeer found me really great finds, I keep searching for a Relic hawk but without much luck. take care,, john
  4. I thought he had a GMT, he ain't half bad and he drives a PrettyTough Jeep Too So you can tell he likes the finer things In Life john
  5. The Musketeer was the most fun machine ever made, and it was a deep little devil too and the Relic Hawk was a Awesome machine, I wish they still made them in that style / design I remember many phone calls with you Des, Oh the Good Ole Days. john
  6. The hardest part about the CTX is learning how to speak R2D2, those tone changes are really quite unique and very confusing, The manual needs a section telling a person what happens when you adjust the values within the menu's but if they did that it would be 6 inches thick, but you have to love that FBS system on deep targets.
  7. I think that some of the problem lies with it, is that because Whites made such an Iconic machine like the MXT that it is all but impossible to better it and only then by adding more manual adjustments, Not forgetting that the MXT took 2 years to being perfect and ready for production also there has been 3 updates since the first E-Series came out And remembering that the people who were involved in that project are the Cream of the Detecting Industry. When White's get every thing running the way they want it I will buy one even if it has more or less power than the MXT, I just want it as it was meant to be, As a straight shooter I would prefer folks to tell me how it is, I can live with that and work round it, But the way things are I don't know If I am on my A$$ or my Elbow. And the most annoying thing I see a machine with so much potential just floundering around, It will be great, I am Sure, john
  8. Tom, I understand you are doing all you can and the problem lies elsewhere, It is not about whether I like it or not, whether I like it or not holds little value, It's just from the video's and the wild claims and the list goes on, I wanted to buy this machine as I DO when ever Whites brings out something New, I have spent $7000.00 on Whites products in the past 12 months, If you cut me I bleed Whites. Tom this is not a personal thing so please don't see it as such, It is just what I see from the outside Looking In. Also I know you are doing all you can but this machine is Rife with issue's, John
  9. Well No One else has said it So I am going too, I don't believe one word of it, I have owned the last 3 MXTs and I use them in the most Iron Infested sites with over 3000 years of metal workings, And apart from a blacksmiths shop it the only place you will find worse conditions, If the operator knows what they are doing then it is impossible to suffer from masking with the MXT, I have proved it here with my Video and If that machine is working for that person then that is more about the detector suiting his style of hunting, I can make the MXT see coins hidden under nail Regardless of which direction they are pointing and even if the coin is surrounded by nails or steel, Having rotary controls is far superior to having pre set steps on any Detector because you can not fine tune it if it has pre set steps, and as for the pin point mode on the MXT or any other mode It will see a Quarter at almost Double of what the MXS can, Chuck has been made wild promises for the last 9 weeks and he still does not have a detector and I don't think that is very fair and then you post him ONE success story as a consolation about a person who obviously does not know how to run an MXT, I have proved it before and I will prove it again. Chuck is a Good Mate of ours, and we would rather See Whites do the right thing by him, Instead of waving one off tails under his noes. I Bet that my MXT can Chew the A$$ off of that thing, All you do is say how good it is, So far everything we have seen says how bad it is and as a Dedicated Whites User this is Bloody Embarrassing. My Apologies to everyone Here, but enough is enough.
  10. I just laughed shaking my head saying that my mate would never believe this and it was all 18ct from about 1900 AD, At the time Gold was close to $1500 US per ounce so I did pretty good that day
  11. I het a fine old Gold and Platinum ring with 5 diamonds in it that only gave a VDI of 0 to 4 and the MXT hit that with the 12" coil in a Junk filled site, ended up with over 16.1 grams of Gold jewellery in less than 2 minutes, One of them gave a VDI of 55 It paid for the machine in one sweep of the coil.
  12. I have ordered the 12" Coil I prefer it for ploughed fields because you need the biggest coils for disturbed ground because most coils won't go very deep in ground that has Air pockets in it, But I will be using it for the beach. You won't find any good Video's on YT about is because 99.9% of the people doing the videos are clowns and the for get about the fact that they are doing a review, I have just watched one fool doing a test on the 5.3 coil and it beeped on some very deep targets the only trouble is I wasted 10 minutes of my life and still don't know how deep they were, Lucky for me I know that it can hit coins 8 to 9 inches deep maybe more, And In all the videos people try so hard to make the MXT look good they run the machine way too hot and end up Blinding the machine showing very little results if any, john
  13. On an Item of that size it should see it just as good maybe more, I know the 12" would get it easily between 18 to 24"
  14. Here is a guy using the NEL coil but I don't know why he is not using the 12" concentric on the beach because they do work better than DD's but he did Dig the Mutha of all Bullets, lol
  15. The MXT will work good on the Beach but I don't think it will match the Sovereign On the Beach, The BBS/FBS system is almost unbeatable on the beach except by a few PI machines, The MXT will Whoop it everywhere else, Mind you I would like to run my 15" MXT Max coil against it, I don't think there would be much in it, john
  16. Also the coils they have made for the last couple of years are now water proof, Where as the coils made 4 or 5 years ago were not water proof, john
  17. That's cool, at this rate you find enough to finance a trip out to the Gold fields,, even out the Back of Gympie could be rewarding, either way you seem to be building up a good retirement fund
  18. Over here the Sovereigns are that good for the beach that second hand ones now sell for what I paid for my one new, They offer the ability to check targets in the disc mode which of coarse you can't do with a PI machine, I wish they still made them but thems the breaks aye
  19. Well I would wait for Nenad to Chime in because he has no doubt used the Joey Coil too As I did, mainly over here I have seen them on E-tracs and Explorers and they were the go to coil for them, Before the release of the CTX it was the best small Coil for BBS and FBS machines. And It might even Boost their prospecting Ability,
  20. I have some pure Silver George V and George VI British coins and one of them even has a Fault on it which makes it quite rare, Congrats on the finds you have a good mix there.
  21. Well when I had my sovereign GT I did weigh and test four of my coils, Steve as you know you need a good machine and coil set up for hammered cut Half's so here are the results Air testing the BBS Coils for the Minelab Sovereign GT using a Hammered Cut Half Silver Penny, All these coils were tested using the exact same settings on every coil without running the Machine Hot with a smooth threshold and the weights include the coil leads and plugs and shafts and Coil Covers, Notice how the 800 coil is just a fraction heavier than the Joey and equates to the same size yet the Joey added another 2 and a 1/4 inches to the test on the Cut Half, The other coils tested were the Coiltek 15" DD WOT Coil, 10x12" SEF (detech) DD, 12x15" SEF (detech) DD, 6" Round DD Detech, 14" Round Detech DD and the 18x21" Detech DD The Coiltek Coils Gave the best results and sensitivity out of all the coils I tested and where as all the others gave either the same results or worse than the standard coils. The worst coil strangly enough turned out to be the 6" Detech. Hope this helps, Good Luck John Standard ML Tornado 800 (8") BBS DD coil 670 grams or 1 lb 7, 5/8 oz = 5 1/4" Standard ML Tornado 1000 (10") BBS DD coil 870 grams or 1 lb 13.5/8 oz = 6" Coiltek Platypus 8x12 (7x11) DD 900 grams or 1 lb 15.3/4oz =7" Coiltek Little Joey 5x10 (6x10) DD coil, 658 grams = 1 lb 7.1/8 oz = 7 1/2" or 7.5 inches
  22. Even though you knew what you were looking for I bet your heart still skipped a beat,, Treasure is treasure no matter which way you look at it and helping someone recover anything is a great feeling but that takes the Cake. john
  23. Chuck I don't think that is the Silver digger bob dug up because his Treasure was in Ammo boxes and the bars were a lot smaller, But I could be wrong, what ever you do mate don't let the Good Lady read your last post or you might be eating Burnt offerings for dinner tonight,
  24. I was impressed when she said about it sinking, theres nothing worse than having a detector float up when you are searching under water, To me that is a bonus. And how about that Silver haul, that's about $60,000 worth, john
