First Real Beach Hunt With The Manticore - Impressed!
fishersari replied to Compass's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
All from the Manticore or including the PI? Anyway great first beach hunt man.. seems like you getting along with Manticore well -
no man.. don't buy that bag.. its rubbish.. maybe the little expensive one is much better, tennis bag is good too but I didn't found any that fit the Manticore as a whole yet.. or I'll make custom bag like yours..
-
Did your carry bag has padding inside? I think I'll ask my wife if she want to do it... lol I researched the compound bow bag like @UT Dave and found a bag that almost identical with the Manticore free carry bag 8 dollar .... 😒

Looks Like M8's And M15's Are Starting To Appear

15 dollar for a parking spot.. holly molly -
Cannonball is brittle? it will broken up to small pieces/flaky/rusting away in a few years.. Usually collectors here will put it in cooking oil..
-
Hard to say.. but the coins found around the cannonball was from early 1800 to late 1800
-
Iron ring is a good guess too.. it gives out the same characteristic/tonal like cannonball Found 5 nos of cannonball/shot puts 😁. Left it under a tree.. too heavy to brought back
-
Recovery speed of 6 and no stabilizer for me.. I should take a video for the audio response on all directions and my wording doesnt help much either 😁. its was a cannonball at 4 to 6 inches deep.. Does your 2D screen shows the traces at the same spot as mine for a cannonball?
-
Just a game of guess of 2d screen.. no wrong answer 😁.. Hint : a) Solid dot as the picture at cross check b) Hint of iron on every sweep c) the iron tones become more apparent/stronger when lifting the coil d) Ground mineralizations - idk lol but ground balance was at 12 if that help e) I think most country uses this 'item' on 1700 to 1900 and I'm wondering if the 2D screen paint at the +/- same dot location as ours.. lol Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy Nee Year to all 😄

Great idea luis.. Im going to look into this.. as long as it paded and can fit Manticore with m8, m11 and a spare pinpointer I am happy Now the front pocket zipper also broken.. lol
-
Thinking of XP 280 backpack.. but the price for a bag.. maybe I'll wait until I found another 2-3g of gold lol
-
yeah.. along with free profind 35.

I ran higher sensitivity usually 23 - 25 because of micro gold jewelry.. on my beach the lowest sensitivity I tested was 21 for ring/coin size targets.. Running higher sensitivity gives better chance for the manticore to 'capture' the fine jewelry/whisper faintish targets on discovery swing.. IMO..

Its tiring after awhile of doing that when using rich audio .. I always change setting on the fly especially sensitivity. For me to get the most out of Manticore the sensitivity (depth wise) need to be in a thin line between just hearing non ferrous/ferrous (clean audio) and hearing non ferrous/ferrous with minor ground noise... its like treshold but replace it by ground noise in the background.. so I always (hopefully) at the max sensitivity allowable by the ground with minimum or no iron falsing so to speak...

come to think of it.. the headache and frustrations mostly on land especially relics site with iron for me..
-
3 years warranty man.. it is now to submerge 😁

Tom Dankowski’s Settings For The Minelab Manticore
fishersari replied to cjc's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
For me I'm chasing fine gold jewelry which Beach LC is much better than deep mode or any other mode on my beach.. -
Welcome to the manicure arena.. where headache and frustrations are your friend for the first few many many months if you a beginner like me 😁.. on serious note though would love to know your assessments between excalibur vs mantibelum performance later on

Tom Dankowski’s Settings For The Minelab Manticore
fishersari replied to cjc's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
I don't know how to say this in the right words.. but its like lets say you cut various small size of many reflective sticker, put it lay it on the ground close together and its represent nonferrous/ferrous targets.. using adjustable flashlight brightness.. the higher the brightness, the reflective sticker will reflect almost the same no matter the sizes and some maybe it will hide the reflections of the smaller one.. I hope this makes sense.. lol.. -
Tom Dankowski’s Settings For The Minelab Manticore
fishersari replied to cjc's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
I agree but for me a little different.. I run mine 23-25 mostly and bumped up to 25-27 sometimes depend on ear fatique and I found out even at 27-30 the deep/faint signal can be heard by sensitivity 21 the lowest on my beach anyway but this only works for sparse targets.. if targets close together doesn't matter non ferrous with ferrous or non ferrous with non ferrous when running very high sensitivity lets say 26 and above, the small/whisper target will be lost in all that amplified falsing/ground noise.. so for me.. when I'm on busy target area I will turn down sensitivity -
Tom Dankowski’s Settings For The Minelab Manticore

I found out the same too.. its not much but its there. For salt beach hunting the prospecting audio outperforms every other tones setup for me to get the best out of manticore. What makes me changed to prospecting audio is because its lock/ more alertive on whisper targets on hunting swing?/discovery swing much better. -
heard it in the sleep too.. its manageable in simple and medium profiles but the beauty of the manticore for me is in all region all tones + rich audio that's need to be crank up to hear the very faint tones..
-
Especially when using headphones with rich audio profiles.. the issue for me with rich audio profile is the deepest targets are too faint so when I use rich audio, the general volume will be set to the max on control pod and headphones. IF target tones too loud while I'm on max volume the pitch/volume can be adjusted in target tones setting. The tik tik sound makes my ears bleed when I want to change setting or modes and there is no way to control its volume or disable it completely..
