  1. I have found more rings in the vdi range of a nickle than anything else
  2. Just as Glenn in CO told you and anyone else will tell you your success depends on how well you know your detector. The cost has little to do with what you find and again it's how well you know your detector.
  3. My wife has asked me countless times if I bought a new detector and I keep saying no. I thought I would tell her when I know they released the Equinox. Well I informed her on Jan 31st that I bought a new Equinox but I forgot to tell her I also bought a CTX 3030. My marriage of 52 years may survive the Equinox but when she finds out I bit the bullet and bought a CTX 3030 Judge Judy here we come. I may have to start a Go Fund Me account to cover the divorce proceedings. I did tell her I was going to sell my V3i and that kind of made it ok buying the Equinox but trying to convince her I really need the CTX 3030 is going to be like her telling me she needs another pair of shoes to go with the 150 pair of shoes she already has. Buying different detectors for me is the challenge of learning new detectors with the latest technology. . If I disappear from this site it's probably because of death by Minelab syndrome. I texted my $35 per week online therapist and she told me I did the right thing buying the Equinox. She said there is no better therapy than metal detecting with an Equinox for a man facing certain divorce court.
  4. Living on the gulf coast in MS the water is very shallow and the waves rarely get over 1' high. Beach traffic is minimal compared to the FL beaches. During low tides I will walk out on the sand flats but not get much but tabs and a few pennies. Where I find most of my finds is where they sun bathe and sit in their chairs.. To work the beach good in different areas I usually find $1 in clad per hour of detecting and maybe a ear ring or pendent for every 8 hours on the beach. I don't mind because we are all looking for the heart stopper that you brag about for years
  5. I always try and keep the VDi's that could be jewelry active because if you don't dig it you don't find it. I dig a lot of foil and it's surprising how small of a piece of foil I detect and that only tells me if it were jewelry I would find it. I most often find jewelry in tot lots and sidelines of ball fields.
  6. I am sure Minelab is just as excited about releasing the Equinox as we are but if they found a last minute glitch in the programming or some area I am sure we would all rather wait. I feel they were pretty confident in their last press release or they wouldn't have made the press release. The demand for the product could be much more than anticipated and are building stock until they can meet the demand. I am sure they want a steady flow of the product when they release it so no one is left waiting months after the release for the next batch of detectors.
  7. 1/31/2018 they will be shipped out and some will receive them as early as 2/2/2018
