  1. Have not been up there yet. The real problem is not so much the red clay but the bedrock. When the bedrock gets close to the surface it has a negative effect on VLF detectors. I have a large piece down in the garage. When you place a good target on it and sweep it turns the signal to iron. I will try to locate it and test the Changer . The next time I go up to Culpeper. I will do a few tests. Regards
  2. Culpeper is not far from my home. I hunt the red dirt . Hang onto that GPX. I have been testing the "Changer" in site conditions similar to yours. Glad it's working for you. Good report.
  3. Those coins get in the way of the Relics I'm after. Life is tough here in Virginia. There are gold mines within 5 miles of my home. I found a large piece of Quartz with a lot of gold in a civil war camp in Maryland. You can pan small specs in some streams. Thanks for the mention.
  4. Yes until I got into some cut can slaw. If you dig all targets you have to expect some Rain on your Parade.
  5. I think a trained eye will see old patina inside the scratch. Not guilty. Case dismissed .
  6. I'm very fortunate to hunt in colonial Virginia. Reales were legal tender into the 1850's. You will get one .
  7. Lucky #19 for me colonial relic hunting. Three coin sized flat buttons and three Indians. Zero trash. Nice
  8. The only relic I want to find is a George Washington Inaugural button. I have the rest covered.
  9. You will be glad you did. VDI 17 has been unlucky. Flat iron .
  10. Brass Musket Barrel Band, Flat buttons and an Indian Head Penny. Lucky VDI number for me is 19. Brass buttons and Indian heads.
  11. I few issues but overall not bad. I have to extend the rod to the end and there is some flexing. My hand rubs on the control box. At high sensitivity when the coil strikes stalks while field hunting it will sound off.
  12. For me to many. Amazing how small the lead you will find.
