My First Impressions And Relic Hunting Potential
George Kinsey replied to Mtwolf2270's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Have not been up there yet. The real problem is not so much the red clay but the bedrock. When the bedrock gets close to the surface it has a negative effect on VLF detectors. I have a large piece down in the garage. When you place a good target on it and sweep it turns the signal to iron. I will try to locate it and test the Changer . The next time I go up to Culpeper. I will do a few tests. Regards -

Culpeper is not far from my home. I hunt the red dirt . Hang onto that GPX. I have been testing the "Changer" in site conditions similar to yours. Glad it's working for you. Good report. -
A Few Of The Many Field Coins I've Dug

Those coins get in the way of the Relics I'm after. Life is tough here in Virginia. There are gold mines within 5 miles of my home. I found a large piece of Quartz with a lot of gold in a civil war camp in Maryland. You can pan small specs in some streams. Thanks for the mention. -

Yes until I got into some cut can slaw. If you dig all targets you have to expect some Rain on your Parade. -

I'm very fortunate to hunt in colonial Virginia. Reales were legal tender into the 1850's. You will get one . -
You will be glad you did. VDI 17 has been unlucky. Flat iron .

Some Finds Of Interest Today

I few issues but overall not bad. I have to extend the rod to the end and there is some flexing. My hand rubs on the control box. At high sensitivity when the coil strikes stalks while field hunting it will sound off. -
