This was what I found while in Marion n.c by Brackett town..an old slave mining camp...This emerald paid for my trip around the u.s. and bought a new mini van.. actually if I knew then what I know now they couldnt have gotten it that cheap..but live and learn..

Tom, it's actually quite a story for me.. my mom passed 3 yrs this coming March 12..anyhoo I lost my best friend that day..I fell into a spiral downfall and relapsed..A mth later I lost it all and was a single dad trying to raise 2 teenage daughters ..long story short we became homeless living in a mini van and camping in a tent .. i got clean and made our way to california from fl and found my first piece of gold on fathers day 2013..IT WAS ON ...MY NEW ADDICTION...GOLD!!! I stayed in the river 7 days a week 5-10 hrs a day.. In one mth I got us out of a homeless situation by thanksgiving of 2013 I found over 9oz of gold...I was sniping ..sluicing ..panning..In Dec of 2013 we set out and mined Oregon...indiana..montana..idaho..n. carolina..georgia..and colorado..In April 2014 I grounded in Douglas City Ca. With my wife and daughters...gold has blessed me and saved my life in more ways then one.... metal detecting is my next level of mining...just don't have my own yet..saving for a decent one ..been metal detecting with my neighbor who has found lbs of gold over the last 30 yrs and has showed me some decent oz+ size nuggets..anyhoo yup I'm a newbie to mining ...an olé timer told me I have a gift for it.. yup gold feeds my family..NOPE NOT RICH!!!.. anyway thnx for letting me share my story ...first time I've talked about it... next expedition is going to be Alaska..it's on my bucket list!!!!

anybody tell me a good metal detecting club in n. cali??? I live in trinity county...

I seen a guy one day using them and I was like .."that's crazy"..lol but aabout an hr later my wife lost her ring at the campground and he kept bugging me to let him find it and sure as a pigs butt is pork he found it in like 5 minutes and it was buried in the dirt...so yeah I'm a believer now...oh and here in cali we call those pickers...When I showed the lady at the ranger station she about flipped bacbackwards asking me where I found them...i told her... All that gold was found in bedrock and mud and in the rain and snow.. still had a good time...

trinity..nuff said..The river restoration project runs anything that's water related here..like I said I'll wait....on the 23rd they are supposed to be meeting to set regulations but we know how that's going to go....like I said I'll wait...The water up here is to damn cold anyway... lol...gonna try metal detecting till all the dust clears...

http://www.dfg.ca.gov/suctiondredge/ went down today and was told federally it's legal but as for the state it's still illegal.... they also said they received tons of calls on the matter ... so now they r nit picking the case to their liking.. and I was told my equipt would be siezed as well as a healthy fine and I would have to settle it out in court... too much hassle for me!!!...I'll wait!!!

Yeah we were at Owen Putnam State Forest Spencer,Indiana last yr this time and stayed in the primitive cabin ... it was cheap..$30 a night and the creeks ran all around it.. found a few pickers and alot of geodes..we had a blast...we busted bedrock and used a sandman....stayed 4 days...

As a gold miner in ca. I can honestly say it is far from over yet.... you can still be fined and some places lose ur equipt because it is still illegal by state law...granted u win in the end but lose in the beginning..I know this sounds like I'm for the state but I'm not ..I'm for gold mining to feed and provide for my family without incident..

This was what I read on another forum this morning ...don't know the truth about it BUT: UP DATE From Makro (Hello all...we see a lot of disappointment with the coils included in the RACER Pro package. Nokta and Makro is all about what the customers need because your satisfaction is our motivation. We are taking out the 10''X5'' coil from the pro package and replacing it with a 5''x4.5'' small coil. Hope this makes some of you guys happy. We will keep the 10''x5.5'' coil as an optional coil. This coil size will be the stock coil on the gold version that will be launched in a few months. Thank you! )

Oh no doubt the gold bug2 found plenay of nails bullets foil etc etc and as long as I was finding something I was good....i juSt felt like I was over working...of course it isn't my machine so I was digging every noise I heard.. lol...and the machine is an older one....thnx again for honesty...Every shop I've talked to was more interested in selling me there preference vs just giving me honest info.... but I'm good now..I figure if I buy the Nokta Fors Gold and find a few nice nuggets my wife will see I need an Atx then a gpx5000...lol lol yeah she's tough but then again I earned it..lol I wanna add u do great reviews..

I'm a gold miner by trade (in my own mind)... i spend my time in a wetsuit 7 hrs a day sometimes..But now that it's cold so I don't go out as much... my neighbor has been detecting for 20+yrs and has showed me some very nice ounce + nuggets and even took me out with him ..He uses a 5000...i can't really afford that without my wife killing me ... He also uses a goldbug 2 ... i don't like the gold bug2 it's uncomfortable and pretty complicated... Although it does find the flakes and very tiny nuggets... I'm on a $1500 budget and am a buy it once guy....i been watching so many videos on so many detectors...my choice actually is the atx...i am so amazed by that machine for some reason... but the nokta fors gold has also caught my attention bigtime.. and the videos are awesome... but gold is my thing.... could really careless about finding anything else ..thnx fir the input..

I am a beginner and looking for an easy to use MD... is this a good recommendation??? been reading ur tests on so many machines and take ur opinion as well as Rays as very unbiased reviews... thank u
