I hope so...where was it???? lol lol I still am using the little coil...I can't get the hang of the middle size coil.. It's got a lot of noise to it ..especially when it hits something like a rock or tree branch and I have a hard time pinpointing a target with it ... I need to invest in a pin pointer... Thinking the macro or nojta which look to be the same to me....let me know when ur up this way again.....

That would be awesome wouldn't it...hell sometimes when I go hiking out on the river to mine I meet some homeless people that r genuine... Honestly I was one of those at one time and gold took me out of that situation and I am where I am today because of gold and the person that thought I was worth more than some hobo homeless guy with a 12 yr old daughter and putting me in the direction of finding it to make somewhat of a living off of it ..not a million but enough to feel worth something and now I have my wife and my 2 daughters and we r great.....but anyway here I am!!!!! Lol lol Granted though everyone is not me and some people choose to live homeless and be a tick on society....

When u plan ur mountain trip don't forget me...hint hint hint.... Went out yesterday up on union hill and found a few pieces and also found a few hobos as well ... These weren't bad though..they weren't tearing up things and had all their trash in bags.. I even took a bag out for them

I like the minelab...but that kind of $$ way far out of what I can afford...the deal with the wife is any mining equipt I buy has to come from mining ...I know its not fair but I've got accustomed to some of the things in that are important like breathing... Lol lol

Steve is there any downfalls to getting an older machine??? I'm going to call Garrett with the serial # ... Anything specific to look for when I go look at this thing...I'm going this weekend to see it.. One little thing I'm Leary about is the guy said he only has had it 6 mths and its been used maybe 5 times but he lost the owners manual... Something simple to others but a big deal to me ...shows just how good u keep ur things and losing $2k metal detectors manual in 6 mths with only 5 times out says something... But anything I should be looking for in general

I had to save since last yr for this metal detector and bought this machine strictly on word of mouth and by what I read ...the more I read the more I wanted one ...I have a gb2 and all its doing now is collecting dust because I use my Nokta every time I go hunting which is almost everyday for at least 5 hrs a day.. Most days are a skunk because I'm still learning the machine and the art of metal detecting but a lot of days are not and im bringing home at least 1 piece of gold...one day I found 8... Bottom line is I wanna thank u Steve and californiagold along with all the others on this forum that helped me with advice and gave me knowledge to make it happen and Nokta for standing behind their name...

UPDATE:::: received my coil covers today and they r no doubt anywhere close to the quality of coil cover I blazed through in 2weeks ...these are very stout and heavy duty... AWESOME NOKTA THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR UR FAST SERVICE.... Steve my new question is why cant a company from the states act that fast to make a customer happy???

ddog.... I'm not in bad shape for a young 50 yr old buck.... But what I did was swing a 3/4 filled gallon(estimate 6lbs)jug in the same basic way i would swing a detector for 1 hr...actually I wanted to take break after 15 minutes...and actually did after 20... Interesting experiment and my wife thinks now without a doubt that y'all have brought out my crazy side...lol lol lol yeah I have too much time on my hands... Lol lol lol On the result of my test is that's a pretty heavy machine after awhile...

No I haven't... Its just I have an opportunity to buy this at a very good price... Love buying other peoples mistakes...they buy a mining equipt. hoping to get rich in one day cause it looks so easy...as we all know mining is not easy...

Funny that was my real concern ...I held one and although it was a very comfortable machine idk how comfortable it would be after 2-3 hrs of swinging...

Well I'm wanting to add to my collection and want to put a P.I. in the little army of metal detectors that I'm forming... Got my eye on a Garrett Atx at a decent price.... Question is I'm still new to all this and wondering I'd this is a good machine for a beginner just knowing the basics like myself????? I don't really know how to use the forum that good to find any info on one regarding difficult of use.. Thnx

Hey Spencer..just wanted to share with u the results of advice I have received from californiagold and Steve.... This was my best day so far which coincedently came the day after I received my crash course on this forum about settings and coil size on my Nokta fors gold....this was after 2weeks of owning this machine and I too am a newbie in metal detecting...so green I feel like on some days that I can hide in the grass outside my house....lol lol Oh and another lesson I learned is DIG EVERYTHING!!!! Happy hunting!!!!

I started out with the gb2 and really like the machine ...haven't found much gold with it but like the challenge of the sound only deal... Still learning the sounds... Honestly since I got the Nokta fors gold I dont use the gb2 anymore because being a newbie to metal detecting I'm still easily stoked because I find gold almost every time with the Nokta....I will say that my gb2 can take way more abuse than the Nokta....I too use the gb2 coil as a small excavating tool sometimes and it takes the abuse pretty decent...
