  1. Ok, fixed it, the problem was the little pin holes where the battery connects, they must have been dirty somehow, the coils never been unplugged from the battery as you could tell as I had no idea you could ever do that ? I cleaned them with CRC electronics contact cleaner out of desperation and boom! Light locks on solid, coil charging. So, all 3 coils are now charigng using USB, and once they're finished charging, I'll charge the 4th coil, although I've never used it. I really think this wireless stuff for coils is more trouble than it's worth, I understand some love it, but it's not for me.
  2. Well unlucky for me, it's the coil not the battery, I swapped a full working battery from another coil into it and it reports it as flat too and won't attempt to charge, always reports every battery that goes into it as flat. Faulty coil by the looks of it, a pain as it's the only coil I would ever use on it, I have 4 and the one I want dies! It just died sitting there in the cupboard too. That's enough of XP For me, not a fan of this wireless coil stuff.
  3. Not in America, they're not selling them, they're in Australia only so far, and on Amazon Australia, not USA. Phasetech an Australian dealer has them, and you can buy direct from Algoforce's website, but only in Australia. So yep, someone from the forum has one for sure, Phasetech does ?
  4. They just put up their prices ?, they must have had absolutely no idea this was coming. By the time they get their SDC v3 ready everyone will be swinging their Algoforce equipped with their aftermarket coils not having to care about the SDC v3 and its chipped limited coil selection and forced Minelab branded headphones, too little too late. First to the post gets the sales and plenty of people have been waiting for something viable to come along to jump ship. If they rush their SDC V3 it might be more of a lemon than the early 6000's were.
  5. I'm guessing FCC is going to slow the process getting them to the USA?, it could be why the omission of any wireless technology too, just makes life easier for a quicker release and isn't overly necessary, at least transmitters you can keep up to date with Bluetooth versions.
  6. From what I can see the manufacturer has listened, and gone even further than that, is willing to continuing listening to customers to further enhance it with firmware updates, they even suggest contacting them with features/fixes you want and they'll look into it. By not including the coil they're giving a lower price while giving customers a choice, a choice is rare these days and their manual promotes aftermarket coils recommending certain aftermarket coils. The powerbank again gives us choice, we can choose how much we want to pay, which brand and which capacity we want. I really think they've listened to complaints and gone with it. The only thing missing really is wireless audio, quickly resolved with a cheap Bluetooth LL transmitter and Avantee @Wiggins are working on new versions of this gear at the moment with LL, and in the future LE when it's ready enough. Perfect timing by Avantee to take on making new Bluetooth gear for detecting.
  7. It looks like my battery is dead, even after hours of charging the Deus flashes it up as not having any charge if I'm reading the screen right, the pod is full, the coil is empty. Nowhere in NZ sells the batteries so I'm all out of luck, I'll have to try and import one. If only it had a corded coil ?

  9. I would love to be a fly on the wall at the next Minelab managers meeting, which no doubt was called with haste the second they found out about it. Watch their profits fall on gold detectors now, more damaging than the African gold rush collapsing ? You've really got to read the manual to this thing, it sounds brilliant, and they listened to everyone, and make a point it supports aftermarket coils ? Some tidbits from the manual, sounds like my dream PI, ideal for the beach too. The detector incorporates a dual ground balanced detection channel design, enabling the detection of nuggets of varying sizes. For experienced PI users accustomed to estimating nugget size from audio cues, the AlgoForce E1500 can also help to estimate size or conductivity through its stable conductive target ID (0-99), even in highly mineralised soils. High single frequency VLF detectors typically struggle with signals on wet ocean sand, where PI detectors are far more capable of detecting through the salt mineralisation. Capitalising on its UltraFine pulse induction technology and stable conductive target ID (0-99), the AlgoForce E1500 excels on the beach, proving to be a versatile tool for searching fine jewellery, coins, rings, and other treasures. With its patented built-in microphone for ambient sound awareness, real-time scrolling detection signal display, a frequency noise level graph for effortless manual frequency selection, ergonomic and lightweight mechanical design, compatibility with aftermarket coils, the convenience of universal USB power bank support, and an integrated loudspeaker, the AlgoForce E1500 emerges as a robust and user-friendly metal detector. This versatile tool has been carefully engineered to cater to the needs of both amateur gold hunters and seasoned prospectors. In conclusion, both VLF and PI metal detectors come with their own array of advantages and limitations. The choice between the two hinges on the user's specific requirements and budget. The AlgoForce E1500 bridges the gap, offering a high-performance, cost-effective PI alternative for users seeking a detector that combines VLF's sensitivity to small nuggets and fine jewellery, but with Pulse Inductions ability to detect in mineralised soils and on beaches The Conductive Target ID (0-99) displayed in the Pinpoint UI remains stable even in highly mineralised soils. A higher number indicates a larger or more conductive target. To obtain an accurate target ID, it is recommended to follow these steps:  Move the coil away from but close to the target.  Ensure the coil is resting on the ground surface and press the Left/Pinpoint button to retune.  After that, slide the coil on the ground surface until the target is positioned just below the centre of the coil. The target ID is also useful for assessing the target's shape. If the target ID fluctuates significantly when the coil is moved slightly off but still above the target, it likely indicates an irregularly shaped target, such as a bottle cap or a nail with a large head. If a pinpointer is used to pinpoint the target and you find that the detector is interfering with the pinpointer, you can turn off the detector's transmitter by double-clicking the Power On/Off button. To turn back on the transmitter, simply press any button. It has detection modes for all gold sizes too, not just the tiddlers.
  10. No, they are still pending. Some may find these interesting, previous patents for the two people involved in the patents for the detector. 11. yes, my Simplex experience is the same, the depth is terrible, the 540 towers over it, that's why I haven't taken the jump into other Nokta's as yet.

  13. Try Nenad, at Phasetech, he sends me stuff whenever I need it.
  14. Thanks Chase, you're a genius, I didn't even know the battery was there to disconnect, I disconnected it, lost the cord up into the shaft and turned the detector on after waiting about 20 seconds and plugging the cable back in and off she goes, works again. It looks like the coil locked up and needed a reboot. At least I know how easy the battery is to change now, I had to tie some string onto the coil cable and drop it down the shaft to pull the cable back through, easy enough to do though. All fixed! By plugging direct in I mean pulling the little black flap away and just plugging in the USB cable. It's how I always charge, I hate that stupid clip system that never works properly and falls off. Still not seeing the charger I think, perhaps it is, i'll leave it a few hours and see if it charges. The lights just doing the heartbeat still on charge. Correction, the lights flashing about every 5 to 10 seconds now, not 40 seconds like before.
  15. The guy listened to detector users the world over too, not to include coils as we will have our own already or we will buy what suits our needs, not what they supply. Keeps the price down. He also didn't include some stupidly expensive battery, we can supply our own battery banks, this makes global shipping very easy too. This is big news, and a big blow to Minelab's pricing structure, and what Garrett should have done when it comes to price. I'll be ordering one that's for sure! I have lots of great GPX coils... X-coils need to start making GPX coils again now this is coming to market, if it sells well which it should GPX coils will be in high demand again. All the coil manufacturers will benefit from this, although many have cut their range of coils or eliminated most entirely. They registered the business in May 2021, so it's had a few years in development.
  16. yep, tried the charging clip and the charge cable, all I get is a white blink from the coil about every 40 seconds. It does this regardless of if the coil is plugged into the charger or not. The detector won't see it, tried deleting and reentering the serial number.
  17. Best person to give us information on it will be @PhaseTech seeing he's the dealer already... They claim it has TARGET ID! AlgoForce E1500 Pulse Induction Gold Detector (phasetechnical.com.au) Why oh why has he not been on here telling us about this thing ? Uncover Gold with Ultra-Fine Pulse Induction Technology: VLF Sensitivity, PI Power, Affordable Excellence! Designed & Assembled in Australia by ALGOFORCE PTY LTD NOTE: Coil & Powerbank are not included. The AlgoForce E1500 is a pulse induction metal detector that excels at locating very small gold nuggets in often complex mineralised soils found in most goldfields. 18. Found the patent, AU2023900847A0 - New method for detecting fast time constant targets using a time domain metal detector - Google Patents It does tick a lot of boxes though, especially the price and the GPX coil compatibility. Auto ground balance too, and pinpoint of all things?
  19. Well, that came out of nowhere, even has USB firmware upgrades. The price is right too, this is the price the Axiom should have been to really get into the market.,Looks like I want one! Uncover Gold with Ultra-Fine Pulse Induction Technology: VLF Sensitivity, PI Power, Affordable Excellence! 20. I haven't used my XP Deus in about 3 months, I went to fire it up and the 10x5" HF coil wouldn't connect, so I tested my other coils that have been sitting with it, and they all worked fine. I plugged the coils into their charger and all coils charge with the light flashing often and then a green light comes on, the 10x5" just flashes white about once a minute and doesn't seem to do anything, after a couple of hours I unplugged it and tried to use it and the detector doesn't see it. Has my coil died? Need a new battery? I've not used my Deus much, but when I go to I get problems like this, I hate wireless coils. I'm not using the stupid charging clip, although I tried it and it made no difference, I went with directly plugging the coil into USB although it's charging the other coils fine.
  21. I think it's crazy to discontinue a detector they have no alternative for, the 6000 is NOT a replacement for the 5000, they're very different detectors, and the GPZ is not a replacement for the 5000. The closest replacement for the 5000 on the market is the Axiom, it's the only other more general-purpose PI with some discrimination and configured in such a way to find coins, the GPX even has a coin and relic timing which is particularly good around here. I can't imagine anyone using a 6000 to find coins. The 5000 is a great beach detector, the 7000 and 6000 wouldn't be my choice for beach detecting. If they kill off the 5000 they're handing that segment of the market over to Garrett with their Axiom and ATX and with the pending release of a Nokta PI which I have a hunch will be geared towards everyone not just prospectors then they're leaving a big hole in Minelab's lineup that competitors will love.
  22. yep Pilbara mining blast confirmed to have destroyed 46,000yo sites of 'staggering' significance - ABC News
  23. The dealer. They've dropped the new packages down to a single coil though, no longer the two coil package.
  24. I asked here and it's not discontinued. Maybe the US distributor just stopped importing it due to the Axiom and very low sales volume?
  25. I can understand England and countries with thousands of years of history having strict laws around it and England's system although far from perfect and far too slow seems to work to a degree and it does appear many abide by the rules there. Australia on the other hand lacks history involving metal objects, it was a penal colony for UK from 1788 until 1868, do they think the crims took the loot over with them and bury it somewhere in the outback? Prior to that there was the Aboriginals, the native people to the land that had no access to metals and didn't make metal objects like arrowheads, ironic seeing Australia is now the biggest iron ore producer. So, the only artifacts that are likely to be found by anyone are Aboriginal artifacts which are unlikely to be found with a metal detector seeing they have no metal in them so are just as likely to be found by anyone. I guess they've set the historical rule at 75 years as much like here, there is only a short history of habitation of peoples with metal objects. Our native Māori in NZ didn't use metals either and James Cook only pulled up and "discovered" the place already habited by the Māori in 1769 so even finds from the early 1800's in metal objects are extremely rare here. It's hard enough to find late 1800's stuff. The oldest building in Australia is from 1793, with most of the state's oldest builds from the early 1800's. Oldest Building in Australia: Where is it & who built it? | Architecture & Design (architectureanddesign.com.au) While I understand protecting history and am all for it, history of metal objects in a country with only a couple of hundred years of metal objects being used is probably taking it a bit too far against metal detector users especially if they're detecting areas like public parks, beaches and farm land with no known historic protections, and if they find something they think is of importance and there is the facility setup to notify a historical society it could become beneficial for them, finding more history so rather than their current blanket rules perhaps they need to have a rethink of how it's done and look at what other countries are doing. This is going to be a big blow to sales of Minelab in Victoria seeing it's going on prime-time TV on one of the main channels and other media is looking to pick it up too by the sound of it.
