  1. Nope you’re all wrong. I think it’s a new gold pan. 😀
  2. General is just on another level around iron. Glad you guys are putting this machine through the wringer! I haven’t got to experiment too much lately. All my inland sites are full of poison ivy and skeeters.
  3. I don’t pretend to understand how these detectors really work or process information, but it seems logical to assume that ground information must play a very specific and critical role in the D2’s programs. (Probably most good SMF detectors also).
  4. I wonder if the beach and diving programs need the salt/mineral component to process things correctly.
  5. I know who I’m sending all my wiped out coins to
  6. I got out with 1.1 over the weekend for a bit. I went to a foundation that I’ve hunted many times so I could play with some settings on familiar ground. Overall I’m quite happy with is so far, but I really haven’t got to run it enough yet to comment on anything specific.
  7. That’s a new one. Glad you got it updated.
  8. Sorry I missed that. Feel free to delete my post since I you covered it previously. I try to keep up but sometimes I miss it 😀
  9. No problem. I was going to type in directions, but finding a good video was way faster
  10. Just as a heads up, any V1.0 custom programs will not migrate to V1.1. Don’t get too disappointed if you worked on some custom slots.
  11. This shows how to disable the auto on feature for the WS6.
  12. Nice ring! I’m not sure if the D2 or its latest version helped find it in the conditions you described, but great find for sure.
  13. Also, Chase’s list of questions at the beginning of this thread sum up any question I’ve had plus more. My biggest need/want to know though is whether or not each FA or CSS base program are the same if given the same user parameters. That could really change custom program experimentation. Well that and a good explanation of frequency addition, which I’ve wondered about and Chase brought up on another thread.
  14. While there are some legitimate issues arising with V1, I appreciate the fact that they’ve noted our likes, dislikes, and wishes and made major changes based on “us” the users. The new full tones and its adjustability along with fmf max freq are real steps in the right direction.
  15. I had to turn off my Trend Micro. It seems to hate the login page.
  16. The overall audio dynamics have changed for sure, and in a good way. Audio is much more dynamic and reactive than before. Pwm and high square have a lot to offer to a good listener. I’m personally not going to mess around too much with the audio filter, because I want to hear and understand what the audio is telling me. I’m thinking that perhaps there was a type of set audio filter on the previous versions, which differed from the D1 and is why many of us were keen to note the difference.
  17. Yeah I’m not reading too much into it either. If they didn’t say “free”, new users would question whether or not they’d be charged if they clicked on it. Marketers are darned if they do or darned if they don’t. Either way they don’t care because it’s the support team that has to deal with what they did😀
  18. Yes. The rusty ground scenario is one of the main reasons why I mainly ended up using General as my go to base program. Rusty bits along with coal ash even in fairly dry ground can really affect things.
  19. I was thinking along those lines today. My custom program assortment got simplified with the advent of max frequency choice. The names of my current custom programs I’m tinkering with for land hunting are simply “freqadd, soilsub, vcoadd, vcosub”. I think that frequency addition and soil subtraction have not been given enough thought by many users, but can make a huge difference.
  20. I’m not a coin shooter so it doesn’t make much difference to me about the varying id’s, but it is notable. And thanks F350. That was actually the first shield nickel I’ve ever found.
  21. I just tried a modern nickels and buffs with different max frequencies on only general. The VDI is consistent at 58 (14khz), 60 (24 kHz), and 62 (40 kHz). Haven’t got much further than that yet
