  1. Over on Bill Southern Forum Nuggetshooter. He said he’s off today to Chandler for the above conference and will be back Tuesday knowing more than when he left. So if anyone see’s something posted late Tuesday or the next on Bill’s forum do let us know here. Chuck
  2. I'M BACK... and this time for good. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Brian Berkhahn.. I used to be the Mining Dept. Manager at Alaska Mining & Diving Supply (AMDS) of Anchorage, Alaska from 2001 to 2005 but really never left, only moved to the yard during the winter and started commercial dredging/mining during the summer. My plans are to once again bring the mining dept. back to it's former glory so if you need anything please give me a call at 907-277-1741 or email me at brian@akmining.com .. I'd be happy to help you. Any thoughts/suggestions are more then welcome. Thanks, Brian Berkhahn, Mining Manager Alaska Mining & Diving Supply, Inc. (AMDS) 3222 Commercial Drive Anchorage, AK 99501 907-277-1741 brian@akmining.com www.akmining.com
  3. Derek & Sharon McLennan plus Neil Jones were hosting the DUG THAT OFFICIAL MINELAB EQUINOX 800-600 GROUP on Facebook but the group seems to have disappeared? Hopefully temporary and not another sign that the trolls are winning
  4. Fifteen pages packed full of photos of items found by Garrett users from all over the world. Download Here.
  5. Discover Magazine Some of you might remember a publication called "Discover" that White's Electronics used to publish. It featured customer finds, treasure stories, and all-around good info on metal detecting. Back in the 90's we stopped making it, much to the disappointment of some of our long-time customers. Well... we realized missed it too! So we're proud to announce the re-introduction of Discover magazine. As a part of our mailing list you have exclusive access to a free digital copy, which you can read online, print out, and share as you see fit. Get your free copy here. We'll try and send one out every 2 months. Thanks for supporting an American brand, and know that we will always have your back as a valued customer. This publication is just one small thing we can do to show our appreciation! Discover Magazine January/February 2018 Discover Magazine November/December 2017 Discover Magazine September/October 2017 Discover Magazine July/August 2017 Discover Magazine May/June 2017 Discover Magazine March/April 2017 Discover Magazine January/February 2017 Sincerely, White's Electronics
  6. Nice video from Minelab's. Full article at Minelab website
  7. I'll be taking two of my Field Staff members to Phoenix for the 2 day Equinox Training for Dealers. I feel this is very important for my guys and I to learn as much as we can as fast as we can. Eventually we'll be able to pass our knowledge down to the customers. We look forward to earning your business. Yes I'll be there as well as Lunk & Scott. I figured 3 of us taking notes and listening is better than just me.
  8. Hello all! Christmas has come and gone and now I have a bit of money put aside to go ahead an order one. It's been years since I've ordered a detector and ones that I've bought prior have all been machines that I could purchase instantly. Are there any recommendations on who I could, or who has a good reputation to order from? I know they aren't shipping until late January so if I place an order now who knows when I'll get one. I tried finding a dealer near me but there is only one about 2 hours from my current location. I've heard of Kellyco but am hesitant to order from them seeing how long it took some users to get their AT Max. I'm hoping to squeak in somewhere with a dealer who may have some extras coming in on their first batch - long shot I know. Nonetheless just looking to be pointed in the right direction! Thanks everyone!
  9. Wow, a great time to purchase a used CTX 3030 or other ML... X-Terra, Sovereign... Explorers on the cheap! Have been watching for awhile. Several for sale and others already sold on the Bay and at decent prices! Wait until everyone else discovers the Equinox! All this on speculation? Just imagine should the Equinox really turn out to be that good (and hopefully will be)... Could really drive the value of other machines down? I do not ever recall seeing a detector dump like this. Now I'm waiting for owners to start dumping their Excaliburs!
  10. ...here you go guys, as promised https://www.minelab.com/anz/customer-care/product-notices?article=324372 Minelab is pleased to announce that the new EQUINOX Series of detectors is expected to be available for purchase worldwide from late January, 2018 onwards*. Since we first announced EQUINOX at Detectival in September, there has been unprecedented market interest in this product range. Volume production of detectors has started and will continue at a rapid rate across December and into the new year. Detectors are expected to be delivered to our sales channels in early-to-mid January, subject to transportation scheduling. Customers who have pre-ordered detectors should thus expect to start receiving them from January. We appreciate everyone’s patience in waiting for EQUINOX to be released and for your ongoing interest. *Initial availability will be limited in all regions due to the very high pre-release demand. Please contact your local dealer for specific price and availability information. We will be doing our best to get detectors into the hands of our valued customers as soon as we possibly can.
  11. Hi Steve, Have you had the chance of visiting the Minelab Manufacture Facilities? Just wondering how many units, say of Equinox 800, they can produce in one day? Like how long would it take them to produce and ship Worldwide the total "Pre-Order" number of units, assuming 5,000 Equinox 800 have been pre-ordered? The 5,000 number is a wild guess; it could be a stupid number but you probably have a feel for how many units would be reasonable as a first shipment. Thanks Steve, Tyran
  12. I couldn't get onto minelab.com Friday night and also couldn't help thinking they were updating the site with equinox announcement ( hope hope)
  13. This what MD-Hunter.Com is saying on his blog. I don’t know if this be true. I just pass on what I read. Chuck
  14. From the Teknetics facebook page "We are moving into our brand-new facility here in El Paso, Texas..." First Texas is the company that owns Bounty Hunter, Fisher, and Teknetics brand metal detectors. This refers to a new multi-million dollar facility that has been under construction for a couple years at 1120 Alza Drive in El Paso, Texas. There was a news release about it in late 2015. About First Texas Products Corporation First Texas Products Corporation is a consumer electronics company that manufactures metal detectors for industrial, security, and recreational purposes. The company also manufactures and distributes high performance night vision devices for the military and civilian markets. First Texas Products Corporation began operations in 1999. Today it operates more than 11 separate companies, exports to more than 110 countries and provides 397 jobs of which 254 are in El Paso. 16. I was looking at the number of post for each detector and by that I come to the conclusion that posting shows the popularity of each, At this time Minelab is leading all by a large margin. Chuck
  17. What do you suppose Minelabs next flagship gold detector will be, and how long will it be until Minelab releases it. I just want to make a comment on the GPZ 7000, in my opinion Minelab hit a home run, more depth, more stability, more everything and over all better settings and digital presentation, its truly a modern technological marvel... Where could Minelab possibly improve on the GPZ ?
  18. Apologies if I missed it in another post. When can we expect the Equinox to be available for purchase in the US... Dec, Jan, Feb or later?
  19. Rob’s Detectors has a sell on all items of 10 percent discount today from his store! The discount code is ilovegoldnuggets If Minelab had told us the price of the coils and other items that go with the Equinox I’d jump on this with both feet. Minelab I hope you will extend the same offer when we receive our Equinox. Being myself and others will miss this great opportunity to save money. Chuck ??
  20. White’s is offering 10 percent off today on package deals of different Detectors. I’m not sure if it extending over to other items. Chuck
  21. I authorized Minelab to publish an edited version of a couple forum posts I made that may not make other manufacturers very happy. In a nutshell I say that with the Equinox 600 feature list and $649 price tag, why would anyone pay more than $600 for any run of the mill single frequency detector, no matter how good? Assuming the Equinox performs of course, which I am extremely sure is not an issue Some people may take issue with that but it is honestly how I feel about it, so check it out at https://www.minelab.com/go-minelabbing/treasure-talk/minelab-equinox-unprecedented-anticipation And got a plug in for the new forum!!
  22. Minelab has an Official Facebook page. MontAmmie mentioned an Official Equinox Facebook page on this thread and the question arose of whether it really was "Official" or not. I got ahead of myself in my response so went straight to the source. This is the page in questions DUG THAT OFFICIAL MINELAB EQUINOX 800-600 GROUP Here is the response I got direct from Minelab: “Minelab generally supports and positively encourages Derek, Sharon and Neil in their endeavours to promote EQUINOX to the detecting market through their EQUINOX Facebook page, and other means. As ‘endorsed’ Minelab brand ambassadors, they do have demo EQUINOX detectors and therefore are now in a position to answer some level of questions before the product is released to the market. However their Facebook page is not officially run or owned by Minelab. There is only one ‘formal’ MINELAB Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MinelabMetalDetectors/. If questions asked on the EQUINOX Facebook page are not being answered, this may be because the relevant information has not yet been released to them by Minelab. While Minelab works closely with Derek, Sharon and Neil, they should not be considered as agents of Minelab. Where there is any doubt regarding information about Minelab products, people are more than welcome to contact Minelab directly.”
  23. Has there ever been a detector announcement with this much enthusiasm/expectation? And if we've just begun the Brave New World of announcing a detector before it's ready for market (past year or so with this and other companies and detectors), has there ever been a release of a new model which has gotten this much attention?
