I have an M8 coil on its way to me as I type this. My reason for purchasing it is probably different from most other hunters. I will be using it primarily for lake hunting but, especially, for areas where the water is so murky and the lake bottom so hard to dig that efficient pinpointing becomes even more critical. Even after decades of experience, hunting in chest deep, nearly zero visibility water can be challenging and anything to make it a little easier is welcome. It is the same reason I used the 6" coil on my Equinox with great results until water leaked into the control box. I'm thinking that the M8 should also be more sensitive to gold chains as the 6" was. I thought that the 6" EQ coil got good depth for its size and hoping the same is true for the M8.

You are my man Compass, we hunt in similar conditions. Muddy, deep water, cloudy, with stones at the bottom, making digging difficult. The Nox 6" coil gave me the best results in such places. And the deus is because I can carry the controll box around my neck and see the display.

I am very curious about your experiences with manticore in such freshwater places.

I still have zero meters with it 🙂

The new coil arrived today so I plan to be reporting before the end of the month.
