Love this topic! I have a single small rock to get back too! It was 40degrees C plus, late in the day and i was checking side creeks (pic 1) to find the source of gold in the main. Good signal with the ZED in HY/normal and HY/diff and with my pin pointer!!!! My pick is trying to pry the rock out in pic 2. Hoping it would be nugget in a crack i was dismayed to pull out this one rock that looked the same as all the others (in front of my knee pic 3)...and i ditched it! Is the rock type arenite? Super hard...Anyhoo, for whatever brain fart at the time i left it behind! Bloodgold 2 have you guys found gold in this type of rock? ps sorry about the pic quality, i took snap shots from go pro footage on my mac.

Haven't sold any yet. I see it as a good solid investment. Will sell when the price is right or the need is high but will still try to stockpile more gram by gram!

Hoping i can soon answer your question with first hand experience! Weather permitting i'll get out with my pan to a mile long section of river that has been kind to me with the detector - 100 odd pieces. About 50% under 0.5gm, 30% 0.5 - 1gm and the rest under 4gm with the exception of a 2 ouncer! Being a known alluvial area I'm sure there will be some colours (but its gold so who knows right?)....I'm keen to see if they are concentrated in the same little pockets that most of the sub half grammers came from....Was always too excited getting nuggets to slow down and pan! Stay tuned!!!!

Might depend on your changing mood during the day too! With the zed i usually start in HY General....if i am struggling with hot rock/ground noise v target signals i sometimes switch to HY Difficult....this happens on those stinking hot days where the water you carry wont last too much extra time and false signal digging! ( and i need more practise), I likely leave a few deep targets but like the guys have mentioned i will find the small stuff and make sure i return to the area at a later date for good slow complete coverage.
