  1. Steve, you are right about people using FBS finding the Equinox harder . I am one. The Equinox reminds me of the 705 more than anything else but i wish it had the 99 tones of the Terra . I dont know yet what are the best settings to use on the beach and with so few beach tests done during the testing faze before release it makes it harder for us to figure the right settings out. I am not so certain that the Equinox will match the ET or other FBS on the beaches but they will make a welcome addition to them in terms of lightweight / waterproof and recovery speed and price . So far i have had £45 and 2 Silvers with my Nox on the beach so it will find the goodies even if i struggle to figure the depth and audio issues i have with it . I just wish my beaches were more favourable but they are mostly built up . Hopefully that will change . As for the Equinox i would have liked to see a 1/4 inch socket , better tones like the Explorer / ET . I have seen many video's and heard of many saying its a deep machine , i am still looking for those settings . Next time i am out i will use a single frequency and see what happens . Or at least on the dry . Will revert to multi frequency on the wet if done.
  2. I won't sell it. I has had £45 so far. But with a lower capability I think than my other machines it could take a back seat at times. I think I might need a new X.Terra 705 . that was amazing on the dry. Better sounding tones 99 instead of max 50 and I think at the moment deeper. But I need to do a lot more testing on the NOx before that is proven . looks like as with the Terra I need to find the best settings for where I go or find where its best suited.
  3. Well the weather here in the UK has been well a bit snowy and very cold . Or what we would say snowy and cold ! But today it was a bit warmer and all the snow in my area has cleared up apart from the hills and fields. High tide was at mid day so i went for about that time . The sea was cold and i was wearing my wellies but that didn't stop water getting in the left welly and that was cold. Well i used the settings that i said on another thread i put into my machine , i went right upto the water and again mostly the machine was quiet . I found a few coins but with the waves washing up the beach and chasing me i had to wait a while to get stuck in properly . 1 of the first targets i found was a Silver coloured bangle but i cant see a 925 so i dont know if its Silver . It does have 2 markings so if anyone knows what they mean .. As the tide went out i searched but most of the beaches were very built up like the last time 2 days ago when i just gave up before even searching . This time though i had to do another search to see if i could have better luck with depth . By the time i finished at around 4pm i had the Bangle , a junk ring , a 20 Euro Cent and £13.55p in UK coinage . As for the machine . I am still having trouble finding deep targets with good target sounds . Other than the Pound coins all the other coins are quiet tones and i have set my settings quite loud . My Explorer seems to be far better for target sounds . And this time i was using my Gray Ghosts . On Monday i will use my Explorer to see if i would have done better but i might not find much , the whole beach is very built up. I think i need help with settings on the Equinox , to me it seems less capable than the X.Terra 705 and i have been only doing the parts of the beaches that i would with the Terra . My next trip out with the Nox will have to wait till just under 2 weeks time . Work is in the way , it will give me time to suss more about the machine . I need louder deep sounds , but all i get is quiet tones shallow or deep and its quite easy to miss a deep target if its that quiet . Next time i will use a single frequency on a different mode and try that . I am struggling a bit .
  4. About to go out when I have seen the weather forecast . There is rain coming . damn. As for iron there is some and nails too on the beaches but upping the reactivity will lose depth I think. It was like that the first time I went out.
  5. I am way to new to this machine to comment yet . I am also a bit of a dunce where technology is concerned . I am so used to the Explorer and E.Trac that all else seems like Brain Surgery to me . I am used to a Carpet bombing B52 rather than a surgical strike F15E . In the last few days i haven't been able to get out and hopefully will be on the beach today . I will be using the F15E . My settings are , and i haven't touched the segments . They are the same . Sensitivity 23 . Sound 23 (advanced each section 5 , 10 , 15 , 20 , 25 ) . Threshold level 12 (advanced , Pitch 1 ) . Target tone 5(for now) (advanced Same as Volume advanced) . Recovery 2 (advanced Iron bias 3 ) . If there is anything else then i haven't found it yet or its hiding in a CTX menu somewhere ! But as for my settings , i have tried to get them like my Explorer or ET . Also tried to get them to work with my Gray Ghosts , the headphones in the box are to low toned for me . What do you think Steve ? I will be out in 2 hours .
  6. Crazy . All over a machine ! I am beginning to wish mine didn't come . I have got an adaptor for an Explorer xs that in have plugged into the back of the NOX and then put my Gray Ghosts into it and it only works on the internal speaker of the machine . It is a stereo adaptor. Hell . Where am i going wrong ? Again .
  7. I cannot be sure of your translation and what you mean ? Its all a bit of banter , XP and Minelab have been compared to each other for silly reasons for years . So for a laugh i am saying that maybe XP have hidden all the Equinox for Europe or France so the Deus can stay top dog . You must understand the warped dark sense of humour of us Anglo Saxons :D
  8. I blame XP . they have seized all the millions of Equinox that have gone through the EU so the Deus can remain top dog . LOL
  9. I think i have to learn the machine more . No idea where everything is yet . Too late tonight to get a look . Work in 9 hours.
  10. I haven't paired them . They are cable run direct . Too busy to get too involved in techy stuff at the moment . Bloody knackered from too little sleep . Got up at 8am on Tuesday started work at 2pm till 12.25am Wednesday then got my gear and hit the beach till 8am then to Detecnicks 40 miles away to pick up the Equinox then back home by 3pm , had 5 hours sleep last night then to the beach again for 5am till 8am then other things to do after that . Damn i have work for 6 days now . ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  11. Well i got my new 800 yesterday and after fitting it out onto my Anderson shaft and lower Terra 705 rod i got up early this morning for a 5am start . I stayed on the beach till around 9.30am . When i got there i saw that the beach looked good , i was expecting a poor beach after the last search look bad . And hoped for a Gold ring . Anyway i got started and i noticed i wasn't really getting that much depth , it was in Beach 1 mode and i put it into 50 tones and upped sens to 24 . Tested it in the water and all was fine there .But i wasn't getting that much depth . Another real disappointment was the headphones , they are the same low muffled tone of the Koss which i hated and never bought with any of my Minelab's after my first 2 Explorer's way back. They give such poor sound that everything sounds deep and i could not hear anything below around 8 inches ! and even large Aluminium was sounding quieter than normal at that depth . Anyway i kept going and even though there seemed to be a lack of deep targets i was getting plenty of shallower targets . Lots of coinage and some old Pennies and knackered Half pennies , even had 5 unidentified foreign coins and 2.20 Euros . I was able to find a Silver ring next to iron nails and had a steel ring and a junker too but no Gold this time . I cannot say i am very impressed yet with the Equinox . I am going to have to get a couple of 3/8 to 1/4 inch adaptors for my own Gray Ghost headphones and see how they are with this machine . I wont be using the ones supplied again if i can help it . Dont want to seem too negative but maybe its because i have had too little sleep lately and not studied the machine fully . It was done on the red eye today . Next week i hope to have adaptors , if not i will use my Explorer 11 for Thursday next . Really hope my fears are unfounded . I cannot download a picture , keeps failing .
  12. I ordered from Detecnicks and was number 2 on the list . Was getting the 3rd too but stopped that one a while back . I need to wait a while. I will now do my report on my first hunt i did today . New thread .
  13. I'm lost on the setting it up . I think i have tampered a bit on tones but i cant figure the rest out . No more time really and i am knackered . 36 hours without sleep is making my eyes blurry . And i have to be up in 7 hours . I will just use it as it is and hope . Just wish i could put my Gray Ghosts on the machine , they are the best headphones for Minelab's.
  14. Also if you do buy an Anderson Stem buy the one for the Terra . You will need a lower Terra stem and coil bolt and nut / washers . Just mention my name to Luke or Nick/ Laura .
  15. Call Detecnicks and buy a Anderson stem . I am using 1 on my Nox and i use it 5 notches down and i am 6 feet tall. You will need to drill a hole in the underside of the stem to attach the handgrip and control box , you will know what i mean when you see the handgrip off the stem . Buy the Carbon Fibre stem , easier to drill.
  16. I have my first of 2 800's and will give it a dry damp beach hunt tomorrow morning . The beaches are a bit built up so dont expect much in finds this time . Maybe ? I wont do any changing of settings , as soon as its charged i will do any adjustments here at home and live with it for this search . I want a proper manual and i wish there was an adaptor for my Gray Ghost 1/4 inch headphones in the box . Also i have no idea how to pair the phones to the machine so i will use them wired up to the machine. Roll on 5am .
  17. Pump station . Wish i could have a go on the fields just around the corner !
  18. Yes . Into your account . Cant wait for Wednesday , the wind direction might be changing which could rip the beach out . At least i hope so. Then there will be a score to be had !
  19. Yesterday i finished work early in the evening and i got home and had some sleep till 1am this morning . I got the Explorer 11 and drove to the beach for a 2am start . I went straight to the normally best beaches and saw that the beaches had some cuts , though not very good ones . So i started and immediately i found coins and mostly it just stayed that way . Except for a few quiet and built up places . At around 6.30am i saw someone else detecting and we chatted for a while then went our own way . At 8am i finished and went home . The finds for this morning were a 1905 Edward V11 Silver Threepence , a very worn Young head Victoria Penny and a 1942 Irish Penny , 2 x 50 Euro Cents and a 10 Euro Cent and another foreign coin and £80.67p in stendable coinage . There were no gems about today which i was surprised at . My next search will be on Wednesday morning , i might be a bit knackered from work though . I finish work 12.30am that morning and need to get the Bus at 4.30am , tide is out sometime after 8am .
  20. I know one of them here. Anyway i dont care when mine gets here anymore , my Explorer keeps finding all the same .
  21. In the UK i am more interested in when we might have a stock of them ! Let alone an overstock .
  22. Last night after finishing work at 5pm i got home had a shower and dinner and had a kip for a couple of hours . At 10pm i woke up and got my Explorer 11 and took my Car to the beach , i can park during the night free so the Bus wasn't necessary this time. The tide was in and i just waited for a while till around 12 midnight then walked to the first beach . It looked built up and i was wondering about giving up but i knew that further West it might not be like that so i kept searching . Eventually i found a target and it turned out to be a Silver bracelet after that there was almost nothing for quite a while. I walked on and found hotspots and the coinage started coming in . at around 1.30am i turned round and walked over my tracks and then suddenly i heard a low tone and thought 20p coin so dug and in the torchlight i saw a glint of yellow , i had my spyglass with me and it is a 9k 2.7g Gold ring and had D in the Cartouche with 375 next to it , there are stones but they are small. I walked on and found more coinage then at the end of my search i found a mobile phone that was smashed , it had a plastic cover on and inside the cover there was a £10 note so that was rescued and then i threw the phone away . It was well beyond its best . At about 2.30am i stopped searching and got the car and headed home . My total for this search was 1 Gold ring , 1 Silver bracelet , a 20 Euro Cent and £43.71p in spendable coinage . My next hunt is on Sunday probably .
