  1. This morning i woke up at the usual time of 5am and got my gear together , this time i used my Explorer 11 and the Pro coil . I got to the beach at around 7am and it was still dark . I looked at the usual beaches and saw that the beaches had started to build up , i was working for the last few days and i have heard that it wasn't bad during that time because of bad weather . But now it was looking poor . So i walked to a few beaches further along and found that the beaches were looking good . Normally i wouldn't search here due to my normal beaches being very productive . So i got started and i started to find coinage in small pockets or scuffed out areas next to groins . I was thinking it would be really nice to find a ring along here as i have only found 1 Gold ring this far along and that was in 2014 for a person who had lost it and asked me to look for it . I found that with my Terra 705 in less that 5 minutes after it had been lost for most of the day and gone through a hide tide. I found that as i was going along that coinage was being found in a long line and then i came up against a target that read on my Explorer 11 ??? (on the ET it reads 12 21) and i dug it thinking 20p piece . By the time i had scooped out 6 inches of sand and shingle from the hole i saw a ring . I had my magnifying glass with me so checked it out and i saw 916 which i know to be 22k . That got me all fired up but i couldn't find any more rings . I did find more coinage and by the end at around 12 midday i had £30.80p and a decimal old Half Penny and the what i now know to be 6.2 g 22 k Gold ring .In amongst the coinage is a lot of the older Pound coins which are not legal tender but can be taken to the bank and paid into an account. I will be out again but not sure when , tides are short and i might have a lack of time till next week.
  2. That stem is cheap plastic and is brittle , not for serious and long term detecting . Wasn't joking in my last post . It would break in no time .
  3. I never said they wouldn't . the next will replace the ET and CTX.
  4. These are Fishers and Garrett lookalike on this site . They are being sold for peanuts . 1 on there , a Fisher GoldBug Pro with both coils was listed at £186 . On the site it says it cuts the middleman , probably the factory too !! Makes you wonder if they do buy in bulk but a seller here that does sell Fisher as a main dealer would really suffer if people started seeing this site as real and safe with genuine products .
  5. I can see the Deus taking a right dive when the Equinox comes. The French will have to rename it the Stuka . Have you seen a site on the net called Wish.com ? Blimey i cant believe the prices of Fishers on there . Either they are Chinese copies or they have no warranty or something ? You may have to join the site to see the sales.
  6. I would be worried too LOL Actually i would on some beaches , mainly the ones that are rowdy at nights in the Summer . It would pay for itself in 2 weeks in coinage , or quicker.
  7. Didn't know about these , why did the others go ? What the difference or improvements on the older models other than 2 4 6 in the model numbers ? If i were to buy one it would need a coil cover , many of my beaches are stones / shingle and would rip the cover less coil to bits in no time. Still if in low trash areas it could be good as a coin hoover . Surprised it has a 2 year warranty , i would kill it in 2 weeks .
  8. Cant believe how low those prices are , they sell secondhand for more sometimes here .
  9. Very surprised they sell . I heard they have been given away with expensive machines as freebies . If i was to buy one it would be a proper throwaway machine for a holiday , find as much as possible before its plastic stem broke or you went home. I did like the idea a bit but its too flimsy and the coil sucks and no cover makes it vulnerable too.
  10. Quite a while ago on another forum , i think dare i say it MLO if i'm allowed ? i remember putting on that or a forum what i wanted to see in a new Terra . As the Nel coils were out and they could switch freqs with a 9v battery i thought up what i wanted . I am certain Minelab saw that post ? Still anyway to me this is the natural replacement for the Terra even if it is much more capable . It still has the same though straight stem , it has a Pro type coil which was one of the things i said , it has the same arm cup and instead of having the control box off the hand grip it has the entire control box/hand grip able to come off. It has the same tones , OK different settings but thats to compete with Garrett AT types. Whether the Terra carries on or not that wont matter but the Equinox is and will take over from the Terra . I can however see something else coming soon to slip in between the Go Find and the Equinox and that may be in terms of price the replacement for the Terra . As for the ET and Safari they will be next and they will be replaced by something in the £1450 range (same in Dollars) or maybe a bit more but hopefully not to much .
  11. What happened to your last post on here Steve? As for those prices , you should see our prices .Also as for the price difference between the Terra and the Equinox . The Equinox was bound to be much higher . As for the Go Find , they are poor sellers here going by what i here . Garrett has knocked them out .
  12. Its still a Terra replacement , a dealer told me 2 to 3 years ago that they were looking at the Terra because of age . And i knew it would be this year . Its why i sold my last 705 . Didn't quite expect the machine thats coming . They may well still sell the Terra's but just like the ET replaced the Explorer's they will most likely drift into history . Maybe Minelab will bring out Equinox's 200 and 400 to replace them ? They have used the 300(305) , 500(505) and 700(705) , now we have the 600 and 800 there must be others coming . I heard there was going to be an X.Terra 900 or abouts so maybe a 1000 is coming too? Humour me !!
  13. Not allowed to carry anything for self defence here . Though my 3 pronged fork i use to dig the dry is enough to a point !! Why dont you find money ? Since i started in 2010 on the beaches i have found just past 20 k in coinage , cant imagine how heavy that would be ? and i'm not the only one that finds lot of coinage . Its getting harder these days because of cashless society and parking charges putting people off coming or other things like this years bad weather during the better months . There is absolutely shed loads of coinage still on the beaches here , its to deep under stones and sand to get too though . And there must be loads of Gold / Platinum and Silver too plus all the older Imperial coinage . But it would take a awful big storm to shift the beach and i think it would take the Country out . Urrrm !! Sorry just the dark side lurking .
  14. In another post i put that my ET and Explorer's have had around £10 k in coins . And that should be enough to pay for themselves . Unfortunately i have bought a few of those machines over the years and sold them before making their money trying not to have out of warranty machines . Now though only my ET has warranty which runs out late 2018 . The other reason i might well hold onto them is that where i search there are a lot of louts and drunk ones at that on the beaches at night and my Explorers even if looking mint condition are cheap detectors now . Losing 1 wont be like losing a new £879 Equinox 800 . I will treat the Equinox with care for a while i have 2 and all the spare bits and accessories i need . Then the Explorer's go.
  15. Most Minelabs work well in the salt but because the machine is a lot cheaper than most of the older ones and is a Terra replacement people want to see the proof. I know it should work well , multi freq up to now always does. The only reason i will continue to use the older machines is that i wont get much for them if i sell so i may as well use them till i have made their money back then sell for peanuts . Anyway i will have 2 Equinox by the end of 2018. One other machine i wont sell is the ET , target info is too good and it saves time on beaches . For me the only downside to the Equinox is the 12 hour battery life , if double that then brilliant but sometimes at night in the Summer i am searching solidly all night for that long or longer . My ET / Explorer has the RNB battery which lasts 30 plus hours.
  16. That will match an ET or Explorer i would think , depending on settings.
  17. I ordered 2 when i first found out about the machine . I have had to postpone the second one for now but i will get it . Anyway i wont sell my Explorer's and ET . With over 10 k in coins to their credit and many Golds they have and can do the job . I will use the Equinox as a backup !!! till i get the second one later in the next year . I wont be rushing out with it straight away , the Explorers if they lose value will just soldier on till they drop or totally pay for themselves . Being Multi Freq they find more than single freqs on beaches anyway . In that sense the Explorer made all single freqs obsolete in 1999 . Apart from the lack of waterproofing .
  18. Its about time they did a test or two . Many people on Facebook have been having doubts about the machine . Bloody Hell we still have another month yet
  19. He is from Yorkshire , they all have extra white legs :D He gets his name from the way he detects with Minelabs . He is mad , how could he go into the cold water with no footwear and it is cold.
  20. Thanks for that . Heard that Neil Jones in UK or his other name "Slow & Low" did a test but it was on Facebook and i am not on there . Looks like i will have to have 2 Equinox , but the second 1 will have to wait for a while . Still , my Explorer's and ET do just fine , will continue to use them for a while.
  21. I am on the bus heading to the beach. The tide is in so will work it out for a while . most finds yesterday were just below high tide mark, not expecting much today but it has been rough and a bit windy. Did the beach for a while but its all built up , had £4.13p . Thats my lot for this year .
  22. Our 1p , 2p , 5p and 10p coins have converted to Iron core . We still have a lot of the older Copper or Nickel versions but they are getting taken out slowly . Hopefully the rest stay non Ferrous or it will be only Gems to look for and they are a lot rarer .
  23. At 8 am this morning i got up thinking whether i wanted to brave the rain and hit the beach . After about 1 second i thought yep. I got myself together and grabbed my Explorer XS and went to the Bus stop . I passed a beach along the way that gives me an idea whether it will be worth it but wasn't sure . I went to the same place as the Boxing Day hunt and when i got there i saw enough beach below high tide that made me think oh yes . So from just after 10 am till around 12.45 pm i searched the beach and it looks like no one is searching at the moment as i was finding lots of coinage about . I found a what might be a Silver ring and something that also might be Silver and as i was digging a hole for a coin i saw nearby a broken Silver chain bracelet . I carried on past the area that went quiet and wandered past a few beaches that i know to be quiet , at around 12.45 i was knackered so i walked the mile plus back to the start point and gave it one last check before finishing . My total this time was £29.63 p plus the Silver bit or bits ,a copper Pendent "Religious"? and for the Americans here i also found a 1981 Quarter Dollar "lower left" . I find US coins here and there on my local beaches as well as EU coins . My oldest US coin i have found on a beach is a US Quarter Dollar from 1935 which i have kept , not the best condition but is nice anyway . I might go tomorrow but it may have to wait till i have done something else first and that depends on the weather that is getting in the way a lot . I have also reached today the total i was going for for the year and as a result will donate to 3 charities the last £215 i have found . Those will be Alzheimer's research UK , Cancer Research and Brain Tumor research . Anything i find tomorrow if i go will also be donated . Wonder if there is anyone who can guess the total coinage i have had this year ? I have also had 4 Gold and 25 Silver rings and a few other Silver bits including chains or bits of. I have been out 88 times this year or 89 if i go tomorrow .
  24. They are around £450 in UK with 10.5 inch coil.
