  1. The machine seems good enough on air tests but I can't get that depth in ground. I nearly max the machine . I will charge up the Nox and wm08 and decide which to use at 4am tomorrow. Nox or E 11 ? Leaning towards E. 11.
  2. In other words you need a lightweight waterproof Minelab Infinitum or Minelab TDI if you know what I mean.
  3. I still dont think its that deep . But i think i have the audio sorted now.
  4. Am on the way to the beach now. Which mode do you use ?
  5. It the same for me . There are tons of crap targets and i need a good air tester . Its why the Terra does so well for me , that machine doesn't have to punch hard in hard ground . Just be good in air , many beaches i do are stony and lose shingle . Depth is important to a point . And so is target info and tones . I hope that i have the right settings in my Nox now but i wont know till next week and maybe Friday if i am to tired from work Tuesday . There are short tides from now anyway but they can be good too so i might have to force myself .
  6. I have just finished changing all the tones and sounds . So should be ready for the next search next week . But i will be taking my X.Terra 705 control box on its Anderson stem handgrip and coil with me . I have done a bold move and stripped my Explorer 11 down and cleaned it and put it away , so lets see how long it will be before i get it out again . The ET is in its box , where its been for over a year now. I haven't done the sounds and tones quite like on the above video as UK coins are different numbers , your Dime is a bit like our Pound coin . Your Quarter is a bit like it too. The 5p , 10p , 20p and 50p (non ferrous ones) are lower tones . 1 and 2p are very high tones like Silver.
  7. Roll on when I get home from work. I got some settings to change.
  8. I will be back onto my settings later after work . Yesterday i bought a new 705 and dropped my second Equinox , i still think i was right due to the places i search but now with this info i can use both machines on the same stem after changing on site and have the best of both worlds. There are places that the Terra will do better and vise versa . My next search with the Nox might be better provided the beach is good on the day .
  9. They dont have a machine , i think the second batch hasn't turned up yet and all machines go straight out the door . When i say low volume i am saying many targets seem deep when they are shallow . On the first outing it was high recovery setting but yesterday it was a bit better at 3 setting . But all sound settings are at max i think . I will get a new 705 and see how they compare in sound but i know they are higher toned even if they are the same tones . A lot of the targets are to low in the pattern , Pound coins come in at 21 to 23 but on the Terra they were / are 32 . Low denomination coins seem very quiet compared to what they were on the Terra . But anyway when i have finished watching a film (Taken 2 ) i will have a browse on the machine and see what else i can change . Thank God for factory resets !
  10. The Anderson works on the 800. Is it a carbon fibre type ? If so thats best . You will need to drill a hole in the bottom of the shaft underneath where the bottom of the handgrip goes on and screws in or it wont fit onto the shaft.
  11. I would be happy for any pointers right now . You may have sussed something that i need to know . No one is an expert on this machine , well almost no one . Beaches are what i do a lot and this machine is being a bitch to me LOL
  12. Share your settings and mode please . I am having issues trying to get the best out of my 800 . Thanks . Richard
  13. I have decided that i will be buying a new 705 soon . I cannot at this time take the chance on a second Equinox when i know how well the Terra does on the dry beaches . As i have the Anderson shaft i can use both and swap whenever i like on the beach . I think even though its not waterproof the best coil for the Terra is the one that is supplied with machine as standard in the UK . The 10.5 inch 7.5khts DD coil . Decent coil cover that lasts too.
  14. I'm out with the Explorer 11 in 6 hours sleep or no sleep.
  15. Download photo or video onto your computer then answer this thread . Below where you are writing on this box you will see a paperclip symbol with drag files here to attach . Click on choose files and then you should see your photos in a box come up on the screen . Double click the one you want.
  16. Put a picture on here so we can see . Might be able to help if we saw it . Have you removed the handgrip from the stem at all ? There is a little dimple of sorts that goes into a hole in the stem so it wont move . If it has broken off then maybe thats the issue . The dimple thing is on the bit that screws underneath the stem up into the handgrip part. I thought you were on about the camlocks on the stem which hold the stems together .
  17. I tested my Gold and Silver rings earlier today and found that most Gold came in around the same tone and so did the Silver . Whats more awkward is that the Silver wasn't mostly very high tone like the ET or Explorer would give. I must carry on trying to sus settings that give me the info i look for .
  18. I noticed my old Terra's used to have wear in the camlocks and shafts used to wobble a bit when the wear started . But i never worried about it . As for the shafts , its one of the reasons the machine is so cheap , a more expensive shaft would have put the machine into a higher price range which means many might not buying it . Its competition for the Garretts and Deus not the CTX or ET . I use an Anderson stem with a Terra lower shaft on my Nox so i wont know about issues with the Nox for a long time if ever . Its not the most important thing to me anymore . Its capability is .
  19. I hope so too . I need lightweight machines . I doubt i will sell my ET or Explorer 11 till a new top end machine comes out . I think i will buy another Terra for the Summer , its still my most successful machine to date . 14 Gold , many Silvers and near £10000 in coinage from 2011 . The only thing that worries me is the cashless society which is killing new losses and the Terra's lack of salt settings . I have 2 months to decide before the finds rate start getting better .
  20. I will answer the 705 bit in your other post first . On the Terra the Pound coin read 32 and was a good clear tone which i never doubted other than bottle tops . On the Nox it is between 20 and 23 and that is on the border where we can change tones so it is a bit uncertain if only going by sound . The Terra just sounds better , maybe its the settings ? As for the 12 line on the ET / CTX . It all depends on depth and settings whether a target will register on the 12 line . A new Pound coin is around 12 x 39 and a old one is normally 12 x 38 but they can be anywhere between 7 ferrous and 37 and 39 conduct . Most other coins are usually steady A 20p is 12 x 21 , an old 10p is 12 x 16 , a 50p is almost always 12 x 18 and a 5p is 12 x 10 and £2 coin is 12 x 40 . Copper coins vary a bit but usually around 12 x 43-46 . The Terra was always very accurate , not seen that with the Nox yet but have begun to sus the £1 coin and 20p. No idea on mineralised ground as my beaches other than Iron are pretty neutral unless down to black sand and thats rare.
  21. Being better suited to Gold or smaller Gold and low conductors wouldn't that mean less depth ? We see lots of air tests on Youtube but they are all a waste of time . Though on many of my beaches good air tests would be a good thing . Like the Terra . I am getting very tempted to buy a new 705 then i can take the Nox and Terra out with me using my Anderson stem . If i dont have enough battery power with the Nox then the 705 will . The 12 hour charge is a bit of a handicap for me being that i go on all nighters at times in the Summer
