Has anyone tried this combo out?

Welcome from Maine! My detecting journey started in your state back in 1999. The Tracker IV was my first machine, then the quick Draw 2. I went from there to many different machines. I always kept some Bounty Hunter units in my arsenal because of the discrimination skills they have. George Payne established some decent circuitry on those grounds. Others have followed. I have at least a dozen Bounty Huter machines today. They are solid when it comes to picking out the good stuff.

Added these to my growing museum collection. I have never used these machines before. I just like the old ones. I picked up 5 machines as a lot locally last year. Nothing special, but they are just cool because they still work. Only one of the crossfire coils worked. I found a used 10" Hothead coil online for a little over 30 bucks shipped. I will see how it works on these. Single tone machines, no pinpoint button, very simple. Check out the original price tag on the GTA350 lol

Dishonesty is a sad trait to have. I would rather show off all my beaver tabs than fake a find. There was once a youtube person who got quite famous by yelling "hello world". Every time he posted his finds, there was a Franklin half. How many people find that many of those? It should have been a sign.....he is apparently rotting in jail now for allegations against kids.

Another Land Ranger Inbound
JamieinMaine replied to JamieinMaine's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Thanks for the comments Bill. The machine I have is the original Land Ranger. Total different creature. I have a Land Ranger Pro. It is a solid machine for the price. The Hunter GT did some great videos on a lot of machines. It is unfortunate that his health has prevented him from doing anything more in the detecting field. I will take your advice on doing a video with my phone for now. I was only going to purchase a 50-60$ camera to start. I do not have the time in my life to become a detecting video blogger anyway lol. It might me a few weeks before I can get out with a machine. I had a work related injury to my knee on Monday. Recovering from that might take a bit. -
$25,000 Reward For Finding This Meteorite
JamieinMaine replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Metal Detecting For Meteorites
This is crazy! It is actually in the town of Waite. I Lived there from birth to age 14. I played in the woods there. There are logging roads running all around that area. I learned to drive on those roads. I still have lots of family in the area. Very heavy woods, but pretty flat terrain. I should take all of my machines and get 30 people to make a "FOD" walk line in those woods lol. Probably the most exciting thing to happen in a town with a population under 200. -
I just like collecting the classics lol. I am hoping that this one has the 0-299 VDI numbers. My first one came broken. I sent it in to be repaired. They replaced the faceplate and the main board. It had the 0-165 VDI numbers after it was fixed, just like my Time ranger. I need to get a HD video unit to forever put these machines on the map again. I am probably the only vocal superfan for these machines.

Quest Pinpointer...you Guys Were Right!
JamieinMaine replied to Daniel Tn's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I feel bad for people who have slept on the Vibra-probe pinpointers lol. They are great! -
I did that mod on my Classic SL3. Found my best coin with that machine.

I did not really need another one, but I had to save it. I received it yesterday. Seller stated that it had never been used. It is probably the cleanest specimen I had ever seen. The seller was an estate/second hand type business. The downside was the on/off pot was broken. He probably didn't test it. I stole the pot from my classic SL 1. Small solder job later I was in business. I gotta stop collecting old machines lol.

Original Quick Draw Inbound

It is exactly as I expected. Works like a charm. This was last made in 97 by my limited research. After that they became the muffler versions. It is the younger less capable brother of the Big Bud series. Now to search for the Sharp-shooter version. -
