This hollow, 14K gold earring was found in the saltwater using the surf mode with a sensitivity at 21. It wasn't deep and was found in the first scoop with an ID of 2.

I was surprised how well it sounded off when the coil went over it, seeing it is only one-half gram and the loop was open.

The gold earring is on the bottom of the photo, with some junk stuff on top. It hit pretty good on the studs also.

Yup. I have found similar small pieces, usually in the dry sand because they are small enough to fall through my scoop holes making it near impossible to recover in the water unless you get lucky.

I need to get one of those scoops with the small slots cut in the back for items like studs.
