XP Deus Shaft Mod

Recommended Posts

Wow very nice job I want it ... 🙂   A very professional work ..

I had a similar idea btw 🙂. I reused a Quest Q30 shaft  . I have been using it during a year now and I am very happy with it , it is very reliable and easy to use ..  I like its large armrest and the robust telescopic system..

I am sure you will enjoy your Simplexp 🙂  ..

I actually damn like the mod...

Most of all, I'm dreaming to zip tie the f#ck#g remote in this way to the shaft clip...🤣

So I'd never be forced again to see it dangling around like a pendant with the antenna's cable.

..  Weight of entire shaft without WS6 mount or coil is 14oz. Feather light.

My Quest mod shaft weighs exactly the same 14oz ( 400g ) .

Which means a total of : shaft + deus2 coil 9 = 400 + 330 = 730g .   Yeah feather light ..

This is why I sold the remote and kept the WS6 master. But I still zip tied the WS6 mount to the mount that attaches to the shaft that way it would virtually be impossible for it to ever fall off again.

Unfortunately, for me it does not represent a viable option...I use the D2 only underwater and the Ws6 does not have this capability.

Well this setup would work for the remote also and it would swivel so you can turn the screen in a position you want and the handles hollow and goes down into the shaft so you could always run your antenna wire on the inside of the shaft if you wanted

I think he was specifically talking about the fact that this setup allows you to zip tie the WS6 holder to the mount.  Although the mount will accommodate a remote, there is no obvious way to zip tie the remote to this (or any other) mount unless someone came up with a moulded mount that enclosed the remote like the WS6 holder does.  Hmm...that would be a great idea.

I like that too.   I just put on my carbon fiber center shaft and arm cuff.  Weight of entire shaft without WS6 mount or coil is 14oz. Feather light.

Hi Basstrackerman ,

I plan to use a Simplex shaft for my D2 too ... I like the rectangular shape of the Nokta shaft system , which prevents the stems by design

I have a question , what did you do to adapt the Simplex lower shaft coil connector to the D2 coil connector ? They are very different ... thx ...
