I will be dropping the hammer on a GM1000 (my first metal detector) soon and I'm trying to get my ducks in a row before making the purchase. On-ear headphones hurt my ears very quickly, and I have to have over the ear models. The Gray Ghosts seems to get unanimous praise for comfort and sound quality.
