  1. Hi people. What does one do if they live rural, don't own a computer and don't know anyone with one? Could a person take the control box to library or some community place and download any updates easy? I don't own a computer, never have.
  2. Hi, I don't own a 6000 and am not worried. Im happy to see all the info here like I said above. There was no ill intent in my reply to dig4 or you in it.
  3. Hi. 1 dead hunt doesn't mean anything, neither does 1 good one. I got a hill which yielded wonderfully too a Vlf yrs ago. Over the years since it hasn't yielded a cracker. Im liking the look of this thing greatly and my buy finger is itchy, though they are sold out and there is a wait list by now I gather. Ahhh, sd2000 memories! But like anything new there is the marriage honeymoon time when its all gushy and oohs and aahs, that's human nature. I get that with this detector especially since its a new kid on the block and by all means has a good pedigree and is cleverly made. Quality too going by Woods take apart. I get too scepticism due to great fanfares on things past and todays Influencer society, and not just influencers with fish lips and face fillers telling us how wonderful the new rare deep sea cucumber face masks are, but influencers everywhere. Not saying here, I just get people being wary these days because of it. Damn, there are even anti influencers that are on the kick from companies that join forums and faceslap groups that their sole objective is to be negative about things regardless of how good they really are. I listened to a late night radio show on it and its off of the charts what is going on with products these days with influencers and anti influencers. Again not saying that about here. There is some good info here though, though most is very early days impressions, test target, test patch, trial stuff, but still I think the E15 looks promising. I'll wait for the honeymoon period to finish, the dust to settle and gushing from the gieser to die down a bit and hope to see some in field bad ground Aussie actual runs put on the board. Having said that, I do appreciate the info put here on the 15 and the effort spent doing it. I wouldn't write it off though based upon 1 dead outing.
  4. Damn, iv been had. I just ordered and am waiting for delivery of those exact same glasses, except mine were advertised as xray specs. I new there was something fishy about them😕
  5. Possibly. There was issues on a claim there. Why people doing that would broadcast finding good gold on TV and internet escapes me. Its an invitation to all sorts of trouble these days from heritage, indiginous groups, you name it. The gov crew are even trawling the net watching people showing coins and relics now pinging them for taking heritage historical site things! Personally, here in Oz, even if I have or did find a thumper, it aint going up anywhere anytime these days. All I find are specks. Recently here in OZ an old lady who, sorry but stupid naively, posted on a face/slap group, all her finds. One week she was broken into and all her finds stollen. Couple or few weeks later, same lady on the major news, robbed again and all her detectors stollen. Seriously! Put an add in the paper "look what I got!" I don't know what this was other than my old mate telling it was taken and around the area people said stollen.
  6. Speaking of the Triangle. My best mate lives just outside of Dunolly. Saw him today and told me that a excavator was stolen from a claim there from the guys that were on something whatever gold show. I dont watch hardly any TV let alone err reality. Can't stand those shows. I don't know as I dont have much to do with many these days but. Apparently two guys, broad daylight with a big mover, dressed in high vis, loaded the unit onto a flat bed. People saw it but as it all looked legit nobody payed attention as its usual seeing that.
  7. Thanks for your reply appreciate it. Sounds like what I have is all good. 👍 Sold out here the 15, but no probs. 1oz will buy it with a coil and power bank. Good stuff. Thanks again.
  8. Hi, may have been answered already but there's so many pages of stuff I may have missed it. Is the bottom shaft the same diameter as the Minelab ones so I could use the longer one I kept from my 5000 on it? I find the industry standard length ones and will the overall length of this 1500 a bit too short. All Minelab machines over the years have been too short for me and I used longer lower shafts on them all. I'll definitely need to use a longer shaft than the supplied one this has. Cheers.
  9. Very encouraging first run. Impressive little unit for sure. 👍
  10. Good one with the 6 that you get. Several of those came from a 5 with Evo 12. Not saying a 5 beats a 6. Just curious with a Highly Strung VLF Im just interested what the E15 can do vs a super sens VLF. Its still seems my question is lost amongst some and all anyone cares about is vs other PI machines. I get from your posts elsewhere that you are a professional that has made your entire living from gold and know your stuff. That's not in question, now a bit of Aussie talk, im not seeking answers from a pi**ing game who is better like im seeing here in other threads about the E15. Simple answer of the E15 vs a Super sens VLF. Many of us still swing em, for fun, to get out. As simple as that, not mines bigger than yours, iv done better, im the man stuff.
  11. Sorry, im a bit lost about my attitude bit! Are you joking or reading something in my post that isn't there and placing your own wrong construct on it. I assure everyone im just fairly asking. Im new here so am I out of place here!? Ill bow out if I am. I didn't think I could have been more honest and fair.
  12. Hi. No rubbishing attempt here. Im serious. Been detecting since blahh blahh blahhh, found bigger than blahh, blahh, blahhh. Im the blahh...ahh forget it. Im none of that. I'm happy anything. Was gonna do this as a reply in another thread. So. I can right now find this stuff easy with a Highly strung VLF. Not every day. But is expected. The new Algo. How does it do on this stuff. Algo said VLF sens in a PI. Hope i got that right. Because I got countless places that the stuff in the following pics is there. Some found with a GPX5000, gone, and the rest with VLF. Doesn't weigh. Too small. Count, im tired trying, 60 All in the tiny opium bottle. May take full 7g!? I really want to hear from users, putting it up against the claim of VLF sens in a PI. On various forums its vs 7000, 6000, 5000, 4500, ........ People are doing that but I have seen zero vs the claim VLF sens in a PI. There are a squilion VLF users out there like me now. Show us and im in, in a blink.
  13. Hi. This is a different one. I use Iso Alcohol for crazy number of things. The best thing about buying 100% iso you can dilute it for a squillion things. Remember though 1 thing. Mix it with distilled water. Most other water contains minerals and things that can change things. My tap water turns it to milk colour. Distilled crystal clear. 70/30 as a hand germ killer. You'll buy hand sanitizer with some perfume smell for tripple to quad what you can make. 40/60 will kill aphids on veges. 40 distilled 60 iso. The aphid gets smothered and as the iso drys off it sucks the moisture out of the aphids body and kills it. No harm to veges or herbs iv seen. Tomatoes, chilis, flowers. Anyway. I use the 70/30 to clean the build up gunk off of my tv screen, phone, windows and any screen including detector screens and even my cars info/audio/reverse camera screen. Used it on coils, stems at higher levels to remove tape residue at 100%. Keep some mixed in my car all the time. Works wonders on mosquito and our march fly bites if put on early enough. Cuts the itch time down by 60 to 70% easy. Wonder stuff, where was I? Oh yeah, cleans thing great. Ps, just in case anyone goes to drown a screen, spray it on a cloth first. Veges spray it on like water.
  14. If it was im not the type to complain. Even though im in Aus. I dont care 1 bit what size I find. In the past few years that which would fit down the opening would by 60% im happy. Again no probs as I love anything the right colour. I might try to get a picture of, ok I will, the stupid small stuff I have got that I still have. Just remember, they will all, 100%, be bits I have detected here.
  15. @phrunt Will be interested in seeing the E1500 v one of your highly strung Vfs. Thanks for your vids.
  16. Looks like a very cleverly thought out thing. 👍
  17. Have found coins and other stuff but I liked this little Chinese opium bottle I dug out with a target. Only one I ever dug up with the top neck bit still on it not broken off.
  18. Im looking at $2850 ish Aussie with a 12" nf and powerbank. $8999 for a 6000 and $4500 Sdc
  19. Some good info starting to come in. Id be interested to hear, most may say why bother, but how it goes against a good Vlf on gold in quiet ground and noisy ground. After all its supposed to have Vlf sensitivity. Would be interesting to hear how it actually compares, in ground not air. So far its ticking a number of boxes for me.
  20. Open coils tend to be a little bit noisier in operation too when compared with an enclosed the same shape and size. I always felt they were and once met Rohan from NF and mentioned it. He agreed saying it was the extra shielding on the enclosed, not they are given more for any other reason than simply they require more, that makes them more stable overall. Less false signals and emi.
  21. Your not wrong. Iv taken bits with me in the past and seen different id numbers for the same bit in different ground types on the same field. To date its been too all over the place for me to discriminate other than in iron infested areas and just reject the iron tone targets paying little regard to the number variations. In those places ill dig out every target bar the iron rejected. Still though seen ironstone mingled gold, common enough, that rejects in bad ground along with the iron. But when faced with a couple of thousand targets per hour or so you gotta let sanity prevail.
  22. Hi. I may have got what you mean wrong. Apologies if I have. Here in Oz the 7 is a great machine. But to many the 5000 has not been surpassed especially with the newer gen coils. Dont be fooled by the fine gold mode, id have named it with the new flats the "freak gold mode". Iv seen enough real in bad ground goes to convince me that if I had just 1 choice here where I am, can't speak for you or guys where you are, just 1 choice of a detector with a few coils and my life depends on it. Im putting my here they come responses hat to protect me "well kiss your bu.... goodbye" "See ya, been nice knowing you" "your gone mate, by". 5000
  23. Im gonna say yes. Over the years we have seen "windows" open up with detectors. Initial tests on many were from guys on the old forums "ahh this is nothing new" "dont waste your money" "my first 2000 went deeper". Not saying guys here getting onto the business end of this thing will be the same as I'm looking forward to hearing all their ideas and opinions. When the 5000 came out it was "erghh rubbish, only thing is fine gold tiny crap". Umm, wrong, even in fine gold mode with the newer flat winds it opened up seriously good on a number of "windows". And not just specks. Im really looking forward to getting one of these. Ill wait because of heat where I am and the insane amount of mosquito's, I have zero desire to go out at present even though right now I dont have a dedicated 100% gold detector, but do have an in between. Had to sell my PI stuff, which broke my heart, when the housing crisis hit country Vic to move. That utterly destroyed my finances having to do it. I had to move ks upon ks away from our home for 35yrs. Im now in a little place with nothing, no fuel, shops, nothing. But after a while here this E1500 is in my range to get back in. Im hoping it will be worth it.
