I brought 2 coils to the beach, using the m8 at certain places that I think has higher possibilities for hunting fine jewelry especially necklaces and m11 for general hunting.. so far no necklaces found with m8 haha.. 😏

I'm surprise too.. not even a year yet .. its not like I go detecting everyday.. I'm a weekend detectorist.. usually around 4 to 7 hours per session.. even then not every weekend I went hunting except for the first few days back to back when I received the Manticore and m8. Hopefully it just effecting outer coating cosmetic. My nox 800 doesn't have this issue even after 4 years of used..

haha.. it was found at palm oil plantations in a soil with heavy use of fertilizer.. usually anything plated will be corroded and have ugly patina.. but this button came out as it is.. there were several buttons (like chinese origin button design) were found in this area but bigger abit than this. The thing that makes me unsure is the ID of 12.

Mine already worn... anyway.. first relic gold with m8 I think its gold .. its too small for ID at 12. Around 1 to 3 inches deep Better picture for scale

I stumbled upon this video He opened up the upper ferrous limit on locations of the traces .. but this only works (if its work) with that particular nonferrous/ferrous only?

Manticore Coil Options (m-8, M-9, M-11, M-15)
fishersari replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
Yea man.. hope many more will see.. or hear. I think its take time and familiarity with manticore to notice the differences. The one thing that I noticed immediately was the scratchiness, tonal shapes of full tones is missing in prospecting audio, maybe prospecting audio interpret it differently and I didn't 'catch it'. I changed from full tones to prospecting at the beach is because the prospecting audio is much more reactive to very weak signal, its become obvious when on a hunt it locked on a deep/faint target easily, Its feel a bit deeper too idk... I'm going to religiously learn this. -
Manticore Coil Options (m-8, M-9, M-11, M-15)

hold up.. so minelab confirm sell the m9? a dealer here also talked about the m9.. he said maybe the second batch will be including the m9 but I just took it as hearsay.. Regarding the m8 I'm so satisfied with the coil run at my salt beach on fine gold so much so I'm wondering if m9 will be even better. I also start learning the prospecting audio.. I have tested the full tones vs prospecting audio and I found out for me the best chance to find fine gold is using prospecting audio + m8 gassppp... gold is a gold is a gold is a gold 😁 -

woahh I guess its really works.. I mean this one: "perhaps possibly if we cross our fingers, hold our mouth in a certain position and stand on one leg we may see them next month." 😁 happy for you man.. do you get bundle price ? -
I'm in Malaysia. I heard almost the same story @ strick here too.. not much quantity for the first batch and already out of stock. The second shipment will arrive maybe in mid to end of November its looks awesome, feels good and perform great at the beach on its introductory hunt

i didn't mind anywhere as long as they put in the feature 😁.. hopefully..

This icon (large metal overload) doesn't come out ever when I'm detecting.. I mean why not utilize this 'space' for mineralization meter 😁 .. nothing fancy.. just a number showing mineralization strength.. I don't know maybe 1 to 5 or like smartphone battery health bar? I mean the mineralization's status/strength subroutine program or whatever is already in the software isn't it? just my wishful thinking

There's a video somewhere the lead engineer of Minelab talked about using ground balance of 0 on Manticore. For me I use tracking at the beach or area which I get different ground balance reading at multiple spot . manual GB for hunting deep targets and in iron if I can find a spot to GB. If I'm lazy or not sure I just use 0 GB.. You can see how the tracking works in real time when you in the ground balance menu. But don't use tracking start from 0. It will track slowly (maybe the ground phase is not so much different at the soil I tested so its appear to track slowly.. idk lol) to the actual ground balance.. anyway always pump the coil to get the actual ground balance first and then tracking

what a about necklaces/chain do you feel its worth to learn prospecting audio? I tried prospecting audio few times too but my brain cant make sense of the audio feedback.. I'm more on all region enhanced audio.. I'm trying to figure out the best combinations to maximize the potential of finding necklace/chain .. lol. Sorry to hijack thread..

Wet Sand, Salt Beach Jewelry Hunting
fishersari replied to fishersari's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
yea man.. digging all those rusted copper/aluminum slaw like holy mother... but I'm getting better at choosing which sound/ shape that I will ignore to a certain degree.. I didn't remember the numbers in the ground but its very low tones.. it sound cleaner and sharp even at depth.. .. Air test ID from left 5, 9 and 12 to me manticore is more sensitive than the equinox.. I don't know if 'more sensitive' is the right word.. the equinox can detect as same but the manticore will detect deeper especially on low conductor. My plan is to use the m8 coil on the beach also.. it should be better.. me think... now the only thing missing is the m8 😒 its almost a year already since I have the manticore .. I hope Manticore will 'see' more clasp with the m8 -
Wet Sand, Salt Beach Jewelry Hunting

I think I heard it too but more iron rumbling noise... the necklace I found that I decided to dig was because of the clasp (I think) giving repeatable low tones 1 to 3 -
Especially necklace, how do you hunt the elusive necklace, chain etc.. lets say if you found a pendant.. then what will you do... I have found few pendants (on different hunt) but no necklace .. so I figured maybe I do something wrong or not enough... The way when I'm hunting for necklaces is I will spiral out (around 3ish meter radius) from the pendant I found and dig everything that has even a slightest bit of positive signal. The setting I used is Beach LC , Sensitivity dependent on soil mostly 23 to 27, Recovery 4, Ferrous Limit 6 - 2 Each pendant found on different hunt around 4 to 7 inches except for the necklace around 3 inches. Would love to know your methodology when hunting small chain, neckless etc.. Thank you in advance.

yeah especially coin with ferrous core I think its better not to use stabilizer

well I guess the coil is still unavailable anywhere 🙄 ...

Ground mineralization's meter update? 😆
