I have SEF 10x12 coil I won't be needing that works on the Explorer Etrac or Safari detectors. It comes with a coil cover and is in good condition except the strain relief has broken at the coil. It does have sealing tape on it now. Asking $95 shipped. -

It's not all fun and games and great finds every hunt 😉 There's always a price to pay for the keepers. -
The Darkside Of Beach Hunting - 3 Month Worth Of Trash

Lol, it was a spot close to my house and was producing just enough from time to time to keep me going back. I had myself convinced a honking gold ring was hiding among the lead :) -
The Darkside Of Beach Hunting - 3 Month Worth Of Trash
Dan(NM) replied to Sinclair's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
I feel your pain, this is the lead dug from 1 spot from Jan-Dec 2023, fresh water lake hunting. I quit saving the other trash after the first 5 gallon bucket was full. -
It is, had one back in Jan. I got frustrated with it and sold it. I'm going to give it another shot. I'm hoping to learn from the users that have had them all year.

I decided take the plunge again on the Manticore before the prices go up. I got the Christmas package with a free Profind 40.

Monster 13.5 Gram Bvlgari Gold, I'm Speechless.

Congratulations Gerry on a stunning find!! It doesn't get much better than and that's what every beach hunter hopes to find. It is amazing that someone would wear something like that in water. I guess he needed to have his ego stroked by showing it off. It would be a crying shame if you can't find the owner Thanks for sharing an amazing find. -
Thanks Ghostlight, I'm hoping to turn it into some greenbacks 😉 Haha, I didn't see that, thanks for the heads-up.

Thanks, they sound very good on the D2 lol. Unbelievable how many are out here. Thank you. I kept wondering why it rang so low and the stone looked too nice for junk. I'm glad I cleaned it 🙂

I should be able to sell it, lots of hunting goes on around here.

I like the looks of those types of rings, I've dug a couple at another lake last year.
-
Thanks! That's what I keep hoping for lol. I've dug some class rings before that hit up there. I'm digging everything from 29 and up.

Thank you!

Thanks! It definitely takes away some of the aggravation :)

It was a beautiful day, sunny and in the mid 60's here in Central Texas. I got all my running around done for the day so I headed to a place I call Lead Lake. So far this year, I've dug over 70lbs of lead from here. I went out yesterday and gave up after 3 hrs with 3 coins and a pouch full of sinkers. Today turned out to be a rewarding hunt. Within the first hour, I had 2 rings, both I thought were junkers. The little one hit at 82 on the Deus 2 and the one with the stone read 49, which is gold range. It was stained so bad I couldn't see any marking inside the band. About 30 minutes later I get a solid 60, which out here, is either a pulltab, nickel or lead. I was very surprised to see the small nugget ring pop out. The top part of the ring had some dark staining on it just like the ring with the stone. I grab my magnifying glass and sure enough, 10K I hunted a few more minutes and decided to call it a day. I was more than satisfied with my results for such a short hunt. I inspected both rings when I got home and still could not see any marking on the larger ring. I threw all the rings in my tumbler to clean them up. After supper, I go out to check on the progress and was met with a very nice surprise, 2 pieces of goldness in the tumbler I grabbed my loupe and sure enough, 10K. I ended up with 4.5 grams of 10K between the 2.
