My New Treasure Talk Blog - Equinox 600 Vs 800
Toddbbq replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
beach 2 is the way to go for wet sand and recovery 2 works very well, did not try all metal mode as the presets were very good. beach 1 is for dry sand and I notched out up to 5 as there was soo many foil targets. One thing I learned was YOU WILL DIG rusty bottle caps. -

800 or 600 -
nope not magnetic...9k or maybe even less but I am 90% sure it is a gold ring IMHO
-
brass turn green in saltwater
-
did the acid turn green which is a sure sign of brass if not probably 9k and tarnished due to high copper content
-
Define (change shaft) are you referring to the lower shaft to switch out coils or replacing the entire shaft to say a carbon fiber one?
-
Any markings on the ring as it looks in the photo as too yellow for brass. I would atleast have it acid tested.
-
I first saw them available at 5:15 A.M Eastern time

What time did you order? -
Back at you if you head up this way I hunt from johns pass to Clearwater beach.

I used to live in Key west while in the Navy. Regretfully well not so regretfully I was into fishing and not into detecting at the time.
-
Me and my CTX would be there every day if possible. That beach looks very inviting and warm
-
Alot of WIFI now is at 5ghz maybe that is why there is so much EMI ? I Maybe wrong but just a thought.
-
the part# for the strain relief is 3237 mouser electronics. the CTX female end is Part# T4110001081-000 from newark. I have not confirmed either of these are actually going to work as I still do not have my EQ but I have faith it will work. The 1/8 plug is just an extra I had laying that fit into the strain relief. Once I confirm it all works then I will seal up and fully assemble it. I already found a flaw in my design as the strain relief threads are not the same as the CTX M-12 connector maybe a re-threading will work to match it up.
