  1. Perhaps Chet with his electronic knowledge could give us some thoughts on the subject?
  2. I have often wondered if the detector itself is more sensitive than the speakers that it has and even though the signal is there we don`t hear it. Perhaps a speaker with some kind of a meter that would indicate we are passing over a target even though the speaker is silent I`m sure there are meters that could indicate the presence of such signals, perhaps big gold at more depth?
  3. It`s nice to have some one with the equipment and knowledge to explain this!
  4. Hi Northeast, Those look very interesting, could wear a hat and definitely cheap enough. Your right about the Pumas but I would also hear my mate sneaking up on me to relieve me of the big nugget I just found LOL. I`ll definitely give them a try.
  5. I plan to try the Minelab PRO-SONIC on my SDC 2300. Would there be any advantage to adding a BZ Booster into the equation or not necessary?
  6. They are available now and in stock. PM me for a list of dealers who can help you depending on your location.
  7. After finding a nugget how many of you mark it by a small pile of rocks or a stick poked in the hole? Why do you do this? A . To show others I have been there and got them all? B. To define a pattern to find more? C. I don`t know why I do it, but I do. Just curious.
  8. Just got a nice letter from a client in N Queensland who has been visiting his old patches with the Detech 15in Ultimate DD coil on his GPX 5000. He has pounded these spots with the newest other brands but says that the Detech coil has worked in ground where the others struggled. Some nice gold, 2oz nugget was down 20 inches.
  9. Hi Jim, Glad you liked the pictures. In my younger days before I was interested in gold I spent much time up your way hunting bear. I have been through Cobalt, Kirkland Lake, Matheson, Timmins and probably stepped on a few diamonds near Wawa, boy if I only knew what was there then. Hope to get up your way and look for some of that native silver at some time, maybe early spring before the bugs wake up. Alot of fond memories, huge walleyes, northerns, big bear and those fantastic Northern Lights shining down into your soul..........I miss it all.
  10. Don`t know his settings but apparently it is working well for him
  11. Talked with a customer yesterday who ordered a Detech 8in DD for Gold Basin, he has been using the 15in Ultimate Spiral DD GPX coil and has been ( killing it ), his words, on nuggets and meteorites. Said he follows after others and picks up missed gold.
  12. Made trip out from PA, met up with Lucky who was nice enough to show us around. Great time and a gold fix that was badly needed.
  13. Here is some info on new Detech "Chaser" VLF Detector. Soon available in US. http://detech-metaldetectors.ro/en/product/detech-chaser-14khz-vlf-metal-detector
  14. Time to figure this out, they have headphones available over 600 ohms. Can anybody explain why more is better over the Grey Ghost or Nugget Busters? Are they worth the cost? Can we hear the difference, or are we running hi-test in a car designed for regular? Curious
  15. Gold Hound, Detech makes a 14in round Ultra Sensing mono in their new Spiral wound series. Stinky Pete in Daisy Hill Victoria should be able to fix your mate up. If not get back with me.
  16. Hi Gold Hound, I simply love your videos, keeps me going in the off season. I detect in Oz every year in my limited manner in WA and Vic, would like to get up your way sometime. We currently make a 21x17 SEF and the Civil War Relic hunters over here use them to locate the deep targets, nugget hunters use them as the final coil on a patch they have flogged.
  17. Hi Bado, The 11x6 MONO sells for $275.00 and is in stock.
  18. Hi Bado, We currently make an 11x6 Elliptical Mono for the GPX, GP,SD. All Detech coils are waterproof, 2year warranty and reasonably priced.
  19. An open question to the forum. If you could have a special coil manufactured, what size would you want and for what machine. DD or Mono?
  20. Detech can make any coil for any machine. Whites has contracted Detech to make the new MX Sport coil. Whites determines what sizes and configurations they want Detech to produce. The other coils Detech produces are based on popularity, their has to be a demand for it.
  21. Nice video by Nenad (Phase Tech) testing the New Detech 11in Ultra Sensing Mono Coil. I watched the prototype in Australia in June yank a nice 11 grammer out of some heavily detected ground in Victoria. Video also has some good GPX 5000 settings with this coil. Coils are now available, eager to give one a swing in Nevada and Calif soon.
  22. Art, they are known for yellow diamonds. The diamonds in the crater do not terminate in sharp facets, they are more rounded but still have the eight sides. They were almost reabsorbed on their way to the surface and are considered harder than other diamonds. I too have made the pilgrimage and plan on going back until I find one.
