  1. All, Was detecting this afternoon without the headphones and about an hour into, the sound (external speaker) stopped completely. It was fully charged, version 1.08 and it has been working fine up until this afternoon. The mute function is not activated, checked that twice. Turned it on and off several times, still no change. It is showing VDI’s, and everything else seems to be working fine, just no sound. Any ideas or anyone encounter this? Thanks.
  2. Thanks JCR, I didn’t realize this. I thought It was one and done. Appreciate the heads up on this. Now if I can just understand the user profile save option to check/uncheck thing. I keep reading the manual but I just keep confusing myself further.
  3. Quick question....I'm deaf in my left ear and some loss in my right ear due to the military. I currently use an audio response of 6 for my coin programs, which amplifies the deeper signals for me. My question is, does a setting of 6 have any negative effect on the machine? The D2 is my first XP machine and and after about 25 hours, still a little confused on some of the settings but enjoying it. Last night cherry picking, I dug 3 nickels and a clad quarter at about 7 inches with the audio response at 6 which amplified the audio quite a bit for me. I also reduced the Bottle cap reject to 0 and set the Silencer to 2 before the hunt. Thanks
  4. Thanks for the update, enjoying the Legend. Being a new user and relatively new to MD'ing.....is there a benefit to having the TID stop at 60 on the Legend instead of 99 like the SImplex? Thanks
  5. Shopkins, Thats interesting, I may try out that program as well. Are all the other settings standard? Also, what happens with an IAR of O and what does tracking do for the program? Thanks
  6. I'm relatively new to detecting, but I tried both of your methods initially. However, the lack of noise or any type of feedback drove me crazy and I have to admit, I wondered if the machine was working at times. I ended up setting up 2 custom programs based off of the Park program. The only difference between the two was one used the Horseshoe screen and the other used the XY screen zoomed to 4 or 6. That way I could toggle between the two to check a signal if needed. I set the first tone to 0.0 at 100 htz, 2nd to 58 at 351 htz, 3rd to 64 at 502 htz, 4th to 88 at 749 htz and the 5th to 99 at 972 htz. I can hear everything under the coil but the iron is grunty and there is no way you'll miss a high silver signal when it comes in at 972 htz. Maybe this will help, I prefer this method over notching or disc'ing everything out. Just my noob 2 cents worth.
  7. I have the 6 inch coil on mine and the only reason I could see would be to help keep the coil level with the ground. What I mean by that is, currently you cant nudge the bottom of the 6 inch coil to level it out. You have to tap the front of the coil with your toe to level it out. Other than that, not issues from me with the 6 inch.
  8. Appreciate all the feedback. Ive written them down just in case.
  9. Or is one of these even needed? This is my first XP machine.
  10. Haven’t tried to update yet, does it erase your saved user profiles or do you keep them? Thanks.
  11. Quick question……does anyone carry a power pack for quick charging if needed? If so, which one do you use and how do you like it. Appreciate it, thanks.
  12. Thats good to hear that the two compliment each other. Thats what I hoped for but really wasn’t sure about. I may end up getting rid of the Simplex or I may just give it to my gf who seems to enjoy going out with me on occasion. Thanks for adding to the discussion.
  13. Palzynski/Phrunt. Appreciate the feedback. I got the Legend and the D2 at the same time and figured I would unload the one I didn’t sync with, and honestly I was initially quite concerned about the D2 because many of the posts I’ve read speak about how advanced it is and how it wouldn’t be a good “starter” machine for someone new to MF. Turns out, it seems to click with me. Actually, the navigation on the remote is more intuitive to me than the Legend. So, now I have an issue, which is whether to sell my Simplex or keep it because I’m keeping both my new machines. Lol, I guess there could be worse problems to deal with.
  14. You make a good point Phrunt. I have had my D2 for about 2 weeks now and have been able to find several coins in my back yard (built in early 1900's) that have been missed. Now, keep in mind that I'm relatively new to MD'ing and the most advanced detector I've used prior to the D2 was my Simplex, which I enjoy using. But within the first 10 minutes of trying the D2 in my backyard, I found a silver dime, co-located with an iron nail, that was missed. Of course, that could very easily have been user error on my part with the Simplex, but on the D2, it just stood out as a dig me signal. I also took it to a local ball park that is only about 10 years old and in the span of about 3 hours, I found 45 pennies, 19 quarters, 10 dimes and 4 nickels. I don't believe its ever been hunted so it was like fish in a barrel but I wanted to use it as a way to see how the XY screen worked for coins as well as get some good ID's on these coins. Its been fantastic and for never having used anything more advanced than a Simplex, let alone a Deus, I really enjoy using it although I still don't fully understand what all the adjustments do. I have a mid 1800's house foundation that is full of old iron that I want to try but its probably going to kick my butt, as I don't fully understand how to set it up to filter out the iron and look for coins and such, but I'm going to give it a try. I also have a Legend that I'm itching to play with for an extended time, but I keep finding myself reaching for the D2 when I go out, although I'm sure the Legend is completely capable, the TID limit of 60 is messing with me as even the SImplex goes to 99. Anyway, that's my take on the D2, at least from a Noobs perspective.
  15. DSMITH, You have links where you bought these? Im looking for a different set. Thanks.
  16. Just got my D2 (11 inch coil) in the mail yesterday and got to take it out today for the first time, for about 1.5 hours. This is my first MF machine, the closest I’ve used prior to this is my Simplex+ which I really enjoy. I was worried when I bought the D2, that It would be way too advanced for a complete newbie to MF machines but Ive spent quite a bit of time watching videos and reading the manual. Anyway, I made a few tweaks to the park program, switched to the XY screen and gave it a go at a local park. Long story short, I ended up finding 25 pennies, 9 quarters, 3 dimes ( 1 Silver Rosie) and 2 nickels. From my new guy perspective, I have to say that Im really liking this machine ALOT. Im not going to touch on all the things that everyone already knows about the quality of it, but I have to say that for me, it seems pretty intuitive to operate. What I mean by that is, I was expecting the remote to be much more complicated than in reality. Now, having said that, I still don't completely understand what all the different programs and options do, but its not as daunting as I was expecting. Additionally, the XY screen really does work very well. I got fooled a couple times by pop tabs, until I figured out the tone nuance but after that I didn’t dig any more pop tabs. Im retired from the military and deaf in my left ear, so it is difficult to hear the audio on some machines but I have to admit that what everyone is saying about it being a tone machine, is true. Using the headphones, I could start to pick up on those subtle tones although I have to say I’m not a big fan of the headphones as they tend to hurt my ears after a little while. Anyway, just wanted to share and to let folks know that just because you’ve never used a Deus in the past, don't be afraid to give it a try.
  17. Hombre, I have substantial loss in my left ear, which makes listening to tones considerably more difficult. Based on your post, am I understanding that the bone conducting HP’s work well for those of us with hearing difficulties?
  18. I’m relatively new to this hobby and looking for my first MF machine. Typically just coin hunt here in SE Ohio so I’m trying to determine whether to go with the Equinox, Legend or the D2. Bought a Simplex right before the winter so I really haven’t even had a chance to even try it out. We’ll see, hoping to see more Legend videos to help me narrow the field down a little.
  19. Iffy SIgnals uploaded a couple new Legend Videos…. Hope I did this correctly.
