Is there a reason that the Deep Tech detectors are not discussed much on DP I have recently done a trade deal for a Deep Tech Vista X, did I need the Vista X no, but I always wanted to try a beep and dig detector, so I did a deal on one, should be here by the end of the week One question I have on the Deep Tech Vista X, is it states to use Alkaline AA batteries to power, is there any reason you cannot use a good rechargeable AA battery in the Vista X, I have a ton of Rechargeable AA's, already

There is a beach volleyball court near my place. About a month ago, on my way home from another site, it was empty. I had my super six coil on at the time, so I did a walk through the court...not being overly slow or thorough, but more trying to get a feel for the ground balance, how high I could have gain and sensitivity, etc. Found the standard couple coins, but did get two stud earrings. One silver stud with CZ, the other just plated with glass. Not bad, I thought. Here is pic for size. Then, last week, I was going past it again, this time with VGG again, but with the stock 11" pitbull coil. I decided to run it again, and go slower, and listen for deeper items, because it has multiple layers of deep sand. I was thinking deep coins. the only notable item I got was this stone with small setting. Tone was clean and strong. It was only 3 or 4 inches down, but pretty cool. Basically told me unless I am concerned with too many targets under the coil at one time, no reason to take the larger coil off.

I am not finding much information regarding use of the DeepTech Gold Hound in the US. Watched a Virginia half dime come out of the ground but no mention of the ground conditions or mineralization. From what I have gathered the detector operates at 30 kHz, designed for mineralized ground & separating out iron trash. That fits most US older gold camps. The downside is the detector hits all the small bits of buried rusted tin and likes halos of rust. Found no mention as to how the detector handles EMI. I realize the detector was probably marketed for deep hammered coins but the 30 kHz puts smaller nuggets (plus deep relics or Spanish Reale) buried in mineralized ground within range. Does anyone have any hands on experience with the DT Gold Hound?

The ground is too dry & hard on my red dirt sites right now so I re hunted a deep sand site that was in cultivation long ago. I ran the Vista X with the 12X14 Demon coil. Targets are sparse, but what is left is deep or masked by iron. Nothing noteworthy found but I was impressed again at the ability of this bigger coil. Excellent depth even on very small targets. 22 short case @ 8", .22 bullet about the same. Of course I also dug a half dozen bent cut nails at 10-12" but that's okay too. Even when I moved into the nail bed areas the coil showed surprising separation. I dug an iron backed overall button that I know I had been over before. It didn't sound good but it did sound "not as bad" as the nails. That's what I'm down to on this site. But the digging is easy and it was nice to be out. I would like to ask Steve to consider a separate Forum for Deep Tech detectors. I think they are that good.

Why aren't we hearing more reports on the Vista X?----Would welcome the "pros & cons" of this detector (relic & coin hunting in mineralized ground).

DeepTech has announced a new 8" solid round Concentric coil for the Vista X. I am looking forward to seeing how this improves an already excellent Iron machine.

Analog detectors like Tesoro have a great sound. Tesoro being a single tone has a very good nuance to the sounds. Coins have a very smooth sound to them. You hear click and pops going through iron but no falsing. Tesoro and other analog detectors have a different sound on larger iron. You can tell it is iron and decide to dig or not. Personally I would like to see some new analog detectors. There are a some analog detectors available like the Deeptech Vista series. I liked the Vista Gold and Gold Gain. I would like to see Tesoro again!

I read on another forum this morning where DeepTech had posted that they are changing the current 5 Pin coil connector to a 6 Pin design. Evidently to facilitate better alignment and prevent damaging the connection. Was hoping to see it also posted here. Are they a member?

Rectangle 23" U.S. Oval 25" Breast Plate 23"DISC POINTS WHERE JUST GONE Nickle 34 Indian Head 38.5 Z Penny 39 Copper Penny 43 Clad Dime 44.5 Silver Dime 45 Silver Quarter 46 Half Dollar 48 Silver Dollar 50 still solid Coke Can flat 45 Square tab 34 The X has very good Disc actually a sweet disc its gone when its gone on the dial just today I set my second disc on 38.5 to low/high tone a .58 caliber three ringer and hunted in a trashy area and picked some deep 3 ringers out by checking on second disc and if the tone was flip flopping I almost KNEW it was a bullet!! You can set the 2nd disc to break up (flip flop from low to high tone) on a target which I like for exactness or silence the target or accept etc.. If you dont want to hear a low tone for disc'ed items just turn the iron volume to zero.then its a single tone with full disc on either first or second disc. You can use both disc to create a notch window if you like to your exact requirements say nickles.Set first disc right below nickle and second disc right above or on edge of breaking then you have a user defined notch to check a target with . You push trigger forward to use second disc and pull for a all metal no tone accept all mode like a pinpoint.theres 2 triggers for either right or left hand operation. Machine is on 12 Volts with Drop in battery holder like say a Infinium with quarter turn door. The Gain control is the receive gain.A amplifier for the returned signal and can be tweaked for hot ground or more benign ground The Threshold is the depth/target size control and decides how weak a signal you can hear the lower you set it the more signal it takes to break though the higher you set it up to a point of say 45 the less signal it takes to over come it.even in deep woods EMI free areas you will overdrive it into instability as a sizzling chatter..Im running it right on edge of sizzle for best depth and even smallest of targets. The I've dug no big iron with the X since running it now about 25 hours.Even in my big iron sites.I hear it but know its iron by the way the tones sound even n just nail reject.of 20.And picked brass out of the sites of all shapes and sizes. Crown caps also sound ratty. The knobs are very tight and you can set them and wont bump them out of tuning..One thing to show the exactness of the disc is I can cancel a flattened beer can and still hit a Quarter Clean Keith

Thought maybe some of you gold guys might be interested in a 30khz model unit. I received my unit and have done a couple quick preliminary videos for it. Its very sensitive yet also very deep....Id be happy to answer any questions if I can? I've ran all the deeptechs Vista models and this one is the highest freq unit they have is actually the flagship. They just disc up through foil but have great old school feel audio and analog controls yet offer new way thinking in terms of tone breask and iron volume etc. Very talkative units..can paint a sonic picture of targets in your mind.
