It is good on the  Beach but the GT would have the edge,

where as There is Loads of places that the GT just hates and in about 95% of those place the MXT will absolutely kill the GT and on fine jewellery on the Beach it will beat the GT hands down, I'm telling ya you are if for a shock when you see what you have been missing.

With the mxt in wet sand , just say I have s brain snap and change coils , anything to help it in the wet sand.

Here is one bloke in OZ who went and got an MXT after using an Etrac/Explorer and he could not believe the fact he had done this ground to death and then hit it with the MXT,

No just put on the 12"/300 concentric coil and set the Gain at around 7 or 8 and go for it.

John I think you were telling me that a change of coil ( forget which coil) would work wonders in the swash or wet sand
