Curious as to what others think of his assessment. I wonder if the Manticore will behave the same way in the plowed fields here in states? Most of my hunting is in compacted soil or freshwater beaches.

A couple thoughts, soils and plowing practices, vary so much across the country that comparison may be hard to ever figure out. I think the bigger difference is what he is looking for, and what we can even find. I'm pretty sure I will never dig up a small hammered coin (possible on edge).  So would our ordinary civil war bullets, buttons or a large cent not be detected well, in plowed ground ?  Judging from some other posts Mcore may not be quite as good on tiny gold, maybe that is carrying over a little to his plowed fields and what they look for.  I guess this will all be a wait and see.
