Antenna Wire Problem

Has anyone had trouble with their antenna wire. My coil loses its connection when I get about waist deep while wading. The antenna wire is discolored at about that point. I think there must be a small nick in the insulation that is allowing water in and stopping the connection. I've got another wire on order but I'm wondering if I'm the only one who has had this problem?

Other hunters have had the wire fail due to salt corrosion. This wire is readily available online in bulk and clear so it can be monitored. 

When installing it is best to try to seal the end with some tough product to keep water away from the wire.  Like this: Shoe Goo or my favorite, Goop Marine.

Yes it’s very unreliable imo ,it can suddenly go quiet so you have to be careful
