I use one on my DFX,must admit it is possibly my all time favourite pinpointer that is until my MI-6 probe on my Deus which basically does the same job ie you hear everything through your headphones.

I still use it occasionally with the DFX but use different machines these days,only thing you have to remember is flick the switch back to normal detecting again after pinpointing,a few times i have left it in pinpointing mode and not found anything for a while then realised what the issue was/is.

Can highly recommend them.

The DX-1 and it's siblings differ from regular pinpointers in that it they are actually a mini coil for the detector, with all the functions of the large coil... including target id. They work great and were pretty popular back in the day.
