Bear
It looks like the HP-500 pumps from Keene are made to drill and tap for drain plugs.
Bear
I showed the top of the pump because on Keene's websight there is a picture where a pump is drilled and tapped with a pressure gage in it.
Steve Herschbach
You are right, looks like they planned for a drain, etc. Good job Keene!
LipCa
Why wasn't it tapped it and plugged when Keene built it? I think I've had Keene pumps that were drilled and tapped?
Bear
I have not seen any that came from Keene drilled and tapped. I drilled and tapped a P180 before. I was a little worried because the petcock didn't have a lot to grab on to. This nub allowed me to cut a lot of threads.

It's easy enough to do it yourself but big kudo's to Keene for putting a little more in the correct spot for the drain. A little inside fyi.. Keene pumps might start coming with the intakes on the pump threaded so you can screw the intake hose on, that way you won't get any air.
