Dan(NM)
Just curious how many folks would do this to get a coin? This was my first attempt to video a live dig, so please forgive the lack of professionalism ? 2
Skate
my concern was for your toes or a possible shinner should you miss with the pick. As for the hunt, I sure would. I'd rather be able to make a bit of a mess than have to worry about a manicured lawn.

I have a lot of hours on that pick, I've used it to dig trenches and everything else after I hung up my prospecting gear years ago.
MCH2
I would try for a few, but certainly not for more than a couple hours. I do have similar diggers as you. Lesche land shark, Estwing 22oz rock hammer and 25" Estwing geo/paleo rock pick. Wear safety glasses and don't smile while striking. ?

First day I hunted it for 6 hours, in a day a so I'll show you why ? I ended up spending almost 20 hours here until the finds pettered out. I like the tool on the far right, what is that? Estwing make some very good tools. I bought my pic I think in 2002, I finally had to put a couple of bolts through the handle to hold the head on.
