  1. How good is the MX-7 and MX sport machines compared to the AT Pro?I heard that they can be really deep with the right coils. The MXT was a huge success. That would draw in many White followers if they could improve it even more by having 2 companies worth of tech added it and to it and say inspired by Whites and improved by Garrett.
  2. If you answer yes what type of hunting do you use it for. Also if you answer no what are your reason for not getting it.I have the Infinium and would get the ATX if it was in a different housing, did not have the cable rot problems I here of and was less then $1400.I here it gets about 4'' more then the infinium with the ground balance off on a nickel.
  3. Whats the smallest nugget you found with it?Is the 4by6 coil more sensitive then the 6'' coil for surface gold in mild ground? My 4by 6 coil gives me plenty of false signals and drifts a lot so I think I have a bad coil. My 6''coil is very stable.
  4. I would like them to put the ATX or TDI in a GMX housing since it uses 8 batteries and many would use it on the beach and in the water. They could probably use the infinium coil molds for these coils. It would weigh less then the ATX.
  5. Did you go interstate 90 by Syracuse? You could stop off at the eastern end of Oneida lake and hunt its nice white sand beaches where many gold rings have been found in the water.I live by Rochester.
  6. Garrett does have a 3by6 coil mold they used for infinium dd coils.Could they use it to make a concentric?it is not fat too but is pretty thin.
  7. The 6'' coil is about 6.5 '' so to me it's a big little coil since I consider a small coil to be under 7''. It will make your 5'' gold bug pro coil seem very small compared to it.A 3'' by 6 concentric coil would be amazing for really small gold in good ground if somebody would make it and would get between the rocks nicely.
  8. Good video and you have not got the 6'' coil yet.It seems that stock is not a epoxy coil by how light they say it is.This machine is a winner indeed.I would not take it coin hunting since you like good target id at depth.
  9. The Gmx was only $100 more then the 24k but you got the 6'' coil stock,a 10' waterproof machine, waterproof headphones plus the 4 by 6 coil for free. That was one heck of a deal to me since I wanted the 6'' coil.If I bought the 24k then the 6'' coil it would have cost more then the GMX and not be waterproof to 10' and I like to water hunt . The Gmx also came with a adapter wire so you can use other headphones. The beauty of the 24k seems to be the way it is balanced which is important for nugget hunting a long periods of time while still being able to handle the rain and a lower initial price with a good stock coil for hotter ground.
  10. I can see Garrett not using heavy epoxy to keep the weight down since I hear the 24k is balanced nicely and will be used mostly on dry land. The coil is still waterproof so you don't have to worry about getting it wet when it rains or when sticking it in a shallow creek. The Gmx is heavier but the balance is not too bad.I think all the Gmx's and 24k's by Whites all sold out but I am not sure.
  11. Central park N Y would have lots of people doing this by pictures I have seen.
  12. Does anyone know if the 6'' Garrett will be epoxy filled since I water hunt? Also how many would like Garrett to make a 4.5 inch sniper coil for it but a thinner version of it?I heard this coil can get close to metal poles which would be a plus for the tot lots.I think that finding small gold jewelry is a fun challenge. The 6'' coil is not pole friendly. The 4 by 6 dd coil does much better near the poles.
  13. I agree with you about cranking out the 24 k in big numbers since that is what most would purchase. I don't think many would get the GMX.If they had both it would probably be a 100 24k's sold for every GMX.I could be Wrong.I wonder how many 24k 's Gerry sold compared to the GMX by ratio when both were out ?
  14. Tan makes sense in the desert plus with the sun beating down on the coil I would like the white coil .
  15. How many here would purchase the GMX which is the waterproof version of the 24k? I don't think they could use the AT housing since it only uses 4 batteries.I have only taken the GMX in the water 2 times with the housing submerged about a foot and it did not leak.I never had it submerged for more then 30 minutes at a time unlike my AT which I had under the water for more then 6 hours at a time many different times.
  16. Hi Simon.I would like to see you find the smallest pieces you can find.A good test for this machine in your mild ground. When do you get the 6'' coil?
  17. You are probably the first one in NZ to get one and will probably be the first one in NZ to find a nugget with the new Garrett.
  18. I hope Garrett sell a ton of them because giving the 24 k a second life was a brilliant move by them considering the African market alone.I think Steve was the first one to find a nugget with the Garrett 24k so congrats to him too.Garrett also made a smart move by also using Steve to help introduce this born again machine since many people trust him. I also think that the snake coil will be as hot as the the 6.5'' concentric coil if not more.
