  1. Same problem that`s been around since gold detectors were made, many equate full bore to more gold but that is not always so, I think those of us who persisted through the early VLF days are more aware of this trade off. I am looking forward to the complete control the Axiom gives in a lightweight detector and hope Garrett keep listening to you, Steve and Gerry, my only regret is I`ll have the Axiom in hand ready to get some weight but the wet will stop me getting out, be a bad case of cabin fever this wet, so Gerry keep posting those gobstoppers on DP, I`ll be dirty green with envy but entertained.
  2. I`ve a big bag of popcorn on Steves sensitivity sense not being heeded, if you can`t handle sensitivity turn it down.
  3. Much the same here with NF being my choice or of course X coils. But I weakened and bought the Coiltek 10x5 for the 6K, it is a brilliant coil with considerably more depth and sensitivity than the 11" ML mono, which is unusual as I`ve found round coils usually give more depth.
  4. Avantree Wearable Bluetooth Speaker Headphones and Bluetooth MD21 Transmitter (minersden.com.au) Not real sure why you`d want the transmitter if your detector has BT aptx Low Latency but price seems ok. Myself I`ll be seriously considering for the Axiom, rather than a X-linx receiver and a powered speaker, no headphones for me I got spoilt by the Z.
  5. Ya meant to wear em around ya neck not ya waist, girls.πŸ˜‰
  6. Nah, nah, The Phantom of the Goldfields.
  7. Yeah, the Treasure mate is amplified as posted thus I imagine will work. Coils... Steves posts show that Axiom DD is not the standard DD.
  8. Many Thanks, I`ve bitten the bullet and ordered an Axiom and a Receiver w/. 1/4" H/D sockets, just can`t help myself, can`t think why not.... tis our age, our turn to get what we want not what we need only. I have a treasure Mate V3 speaker that has an internal amplifier and rechargeable Lithium battery I suspect will mate with the Z-Link receiver
  9. Heh that aint BS GotAu, with that confidence you`ll do ii, and some help from those Ps. Your Doorstopper is coming for sure...πŸ˜‰
  10. That BS never stops, just be positive about what you believe because at the end of the day that and a few other Ps puts the weight in your pocket.
  11. I`m surprised Oneguy you didn`t take to the 6K being a Monster user, I sort of formed the opinion the 6Ks a Monster/SDC cross on steroids. Certainly probably more than any other detectors it is not everyone's cup of tea, but I`m keen as to see ML advance its ability, and to have an Axiom in hand... come on Santa. (very appropriate naming Garrett)
  12. Bump Ok anyone since tried the z-lynk with an external speaker
  13. Aye, doubt one of us have not left a big booming signal that turns out was a nugget. I think I`ve told of my first, "left one that I know of", a number of times on DP.
  14. Yeah we`ve heard about NZs only have little ones, over and over, now your hinting they`ve been undetectable coz they overload the detector, we wont shame ya.... much.... come on we want the story.πŸ˜‰
  15. Something is not right about this "upgrade" it appears a sort of a rushed backyard repair of a complex piece of electronics, a stop gap solution, too many 6Ks are having problems and not just whilst using the speaker but there are many others who aren`t. They cannot be the same machine and all are faulty. Because I`m not having troubles I`ll wait and see what time brings. Sort of if it aint broke dont fix it. Time will tell and we`ll all know then. Many detectors helped and changed my life Phrunt the 6Ks just the latest, tis a magic machine.
  16. Grasshopper, I read another page of 26 whoops 27 of why I should get my 6K upgraded, then I nick out into the backyard for a few early morning hours before the FNQ OZ summer heat hits, but I keep scoring a few nuggets in easy to get at close ground ground that`s been absolutely flogged. Tis our FNQ sun it has touched me bad.
  17. Many Thanks Steve for info your downunder adventure threads , and Gerry for this thread, when you fellows post such experiences this old codgers ears stand up.
  18. Maybe I`ve missed this in a past post but are the Axiom coils chipped? In regards to the software upgrade that is producing a more sensitive Axiom, I wonder if Garret would consider an even more sensitive software upgrade to suit our land downunder where we don`t have the amount of EMI trouble the US has that influences a detectors stability adversely.
  19. Yeah I`m in the same boat, the Z and its X coils aren`t being sold, especially the Z/X17CC combo it will have its day again once the property owner annually burns sections of crazy grass growth we`ve had here in FNQ these last few years. The 6Ks a SDC on steroids, sniffs out those scraps at unbelievable depths, especially with the 10x5 Goldhawk coil, its proving to be even more sensitive to those bread and butter scraps, would really love a X small elliptical CC coil for it to handle pushing through the FNQ grass.
  20. Now I believe you fellows are getting on the right track, some clues are on DPs early 6K threads, as testers experience helped us early adoptees learnt how to get the best out of the 6K, such discussions occur as each new detector/coil hits the market, even long before 4Ms existed. The Z, X coils and to come the Axiom will be dissected, I recall some heated caravan park discussions over the A2B etc etc then the GM2 and GB2, well they were boiling discussions about interference, to me/others was just ground interference solved simply by adjusting the manual control carefully. You`d reckon they would have never found the gold they did as the 6K has for me and many others. You could indeed have a problem in the US, or ML has serious quality problems, satellites, the sun etc but then why didn`t the US testers and early adoptees acknowledge this. To me it is as if there are at least two different 6Ks.
  21. Rvpopeye.. Where that piece came from was in an old patch that has a pay as you use property campground on for 30 years, has had the hell flogged out of it, with many 1000s of detector operators not just from OZ but from all around the world, the GPZ and then with the 19inch coil, some refer to as the dog coil, showed just how much was left as has the GPZ with the X coils in particular 17inch CC coil. I am fortunate to have been one of the early detector operators to have worked that ground back 45 years ago thus had some idea where our high performing todays detectors would come up with the goods. I suspect this is so in all gold fields of the world that have been accessible to detector operators since this electronic gold rush started. But you are spot on I feel very privileged to have walked this ground but know there is more to come for us operators.πŸ˜€
  22. Smile😁 bit of a grimace trying to grip it. Photo was from back a bit, initially had not posted as Gobstopper but the below. Nurse Paul (Outback Yank) had branded it "The Spare Rib" when it was first dug up, a top into to his first OZ adventure.
  23. Nah, Runs in the family of gold nuts, which I suspect most of us are, not determined by culture, country, color, religion, politics etc, just by a crazy addiction of chasing that heavy stuff πŸ€ͺ
