  1. I am patiently waiting for a 900 software update. If I knew for sure it is never going to happen..I would sell mine
  2. Yeah ...I am told the detector repair center in Pa (formally Fort Bedford metal detectors) no longer does warranty work. That is done in Illinois and Fort Bedford Metal Detectors is now in Southern Maryland.
  3. Last year while swinging a Nox 600 I was getting faint hits on almost every swing but couldn't pin point anything. I thought for sure that there was something wrong with the detector or coil until I realized that I put on my steel-toed work boots instead of my regular boots that I normally wear. I felt so stupid but was able to extend the lower rod enough to keep detecting.
  4. Welcome JJ from Somerset county
  5. I gotta admit that I am disappointed that you no longer sell or handle warranty issues for Minelab anymore.
  6. Good luck and keep us posted. What area of Pa. are you at? Here in SW Pa (Johnstown)we are expecting a bunch of snow today.
  7. A weather proof transmitter would be a great option as the WM-09 will be useless to us hearing aid users who just want to hear everything through the hearing aids. I do like the idea of the wireless neck band though but again the transmitter will be needed for the Manticore, 900/700 or X-Terra pro. I am losing my fondness for Minelab...lol
  8. Wouldn't it just be a better option to use the BT transmitter plugged into the detector and use wireless stuff? Using wired stuff plugged into a WM-09 isn't wireless imo. Or is there latency issues with the transmitters?
  9. When I first got the Miracle Ear hearing aids I had issues with them staying in. I went back to Miracle Ear and they installed little clear plastic clips that keep them in your ear. They work great and no more issues with them falling out!
  10. buetooth LE is an industry standard and the LC3 codec is the latest and greatest low latency codec utilized by BT LE. But manufacturers can choose whether or not to make their BT LE devices compatible with third parties. Minelab has intentionally chosen not have their Bluetooth LE audio devices connect with 3rd party devices, so even though 3rd party Bluetooth LE devices with the LC3 codec are starting to appear on the marketplace, none of them will be compatible with the ML detector Bluetooth LE transmitters. 11. I sure hope we can solve this mystery. I had posted earlier that I had dropped my coil off at the Minelab repair center and they did a bunch of tests on it and said it was perfectly fine. I haven't had the issue since..fingers crossed
  12. Mark...I am from the Johnstown area and while I have never hunted the Pittsburgh parks, I plan on doing some detecting in the Fox Chapel area as I have relatives there
  13. I hope so Stephen but if Minelab makes it proprietary(and they do) there isn't much the HA companies can do.
  14. Not sure if it helps but I have the Miracle ear hearing aids with the latest BT technology and they wont pair with my Nox 900. It seems Minelab BT will only work with Minelab wireless headphones, Even when they introduce a transmitter to use other brand headphones it wont help with hearing aids . It sucks
  15. One more quick question.....my hearing aids are BT LE and while they wont work with my Nox 900 ..I am wondering if they would work with a Legend without adding a transmitter?
  16. Thanks....I remember you mentioned earlier in the year that another company was considering using that technology but I am guessing that fell through?
  17. Is there any earbuds ,neckband , or bone conduction audio devices on the market that are compatible with the Nox and Manticore BT LE or is this a pipe dream?
  18. As I bought a Nox 900 thinking I was upgrading from my Nox 600, I have certainly had mixed feelings. There are things that I like better on the 900 but the erratic nature of the machine is very troubling . I have been patiently waiting for a firmware update that never comes and if it does, do you think it's possible that improvements can be made or should I consider moving on from the 900/700 experiment?
  19. I also "bit the bullet" and took a hearing test and purchased some hearing aids. I really like them(although very pricey.} Along with detecting I found them very useful in archery hunting this year, They have a universal mode, a tv mode, a noisy environment mode, and my favorite..an outdoor sports mode that totally eliminates any wind noise. I control which mode and volume from my phone. I can answer phone calls with them also but never use that feature.
  20. That sure sucks! When my 900 acts up again I'm going to video it for sure and like you...never had this problem with my Nox 600
